ok yeah theyre pretty weighty. I used to have a husky/lab mix and he weighed about 80lbs and would almost rip my arm out of socket and im tall and heavy! my 25lb french bulldog gives my arm a workout too so i got him an easy walk harness. definitely would need to take a dog like that to school because i think it could overpower me! Thanks for that info :) im in love with that breed

when you walk your dog, do people find it menacing? i want a french mastiff partly so i can feel safer at home and during walks

@Carena722 Yes, he has an intimidating persona but since he is still a puppy, he gives it away by wagging his tail and shaking his butt when people approach. Generally, any big dog will suffice in helping to prevent potential attackers. I've always had Rottweilers and this is my first different breed. Please note, these dogs need to be trained very early while they are still light. The dog will get much stronger than you and drag you down the road if it wants.

@Carena722 They are great dogs, but they are very guardy at home, they dont like strangers - particuarly if you have children.- just let the dog know from start who the boss is and train it well you will be fine. good luck!
