Secondly, the DM's are entertainment. Most of the JSU fans could give a flip about who is directing the band. They want to see the Tiger Run On, the bands spell out of J.S.U., the J-Sette routine, the dance routine, the JSU call out,and the drum majors marching back up the ramp and doing their skit before they sit back down in the stands. Other than that, no one really cares about the technical stuff. You give the fans what they want. Been following the boom since 1990.

all i have to say is a show is a show when it comes to skill they ll show it but who watches the halftime show to see the DM directing or just watch them do 8 counts i understand both points but as i said a show is a showwhen its time for skill it will be shown
Wow. After that conversation between Mrbandhead and jrdewesse, I'm enlightened myself! Nevertheless, I would rather see the DMs out on the field leading the band and doing their thing like at 3:22 rather than on the sideline doing 8 counts. Leave the 8 counts to the J-Settes.

And I also found that the dudes first to scream "fag" and "gay" be the closet homos. If you're going to criticize the band, do that but leave ppls sexuality out of it. @jrdewesse First of all young lad, I didnt say them boys are gay because of their lack of skill, and yes there is a big lack of skill here, I said they are gay because they look like J-settes and they are supposed to be the men. Also if a white guy called anyone a sorry black man it would'nt make a difference because 1. We have a BLack President, 2. because if you are not a sorry black man then its pointless.

@2010Mrbandhead I wasn't going to reply to this, but If I didn't I don't think I would have accomplished what I set out to accomplish. What the world needs to understand is there is a difference between sexual preference and identity. There is tons of research in the psychology and queer studies fields that support this. The lack of this knowledge on your behalf is what truly frustrates me.
@2010Mrbandhead The reality is not every guy who dances or seems feminine is gay and not ever ultra masculine guy is straight. And because the only place most black people, especially black men, get their information is from TV and whereever they hear because God forbid they have to actually read something. .... Do you see what i'm saying and doing simultaneously, speaking the "truth" but stereotyping at the same time. You won't admit it, but it's upsetting

However, the problem is you attributed their feminine dancing to being gay, which is very sterotypical. And what makes it worse is we, as blacks are always so quick to cry "racism," "descrimination," "prejudice" and then turn around and victimize others.

Both Southern and JSU need to take some musicianship lessons from The Aristocrats. You both obviously are very good bands but choice of power over musicianship shows a lack of musical intellect. Good luck with what you are trying to accomplish. I just don't get it!

Why are the DM not directing 2 and 2 on each side? They should be doing more dignified stuff and showing Class by taking a Knee off to the sides when the Dancers peform..Things have changed so and not in a direction I'm too pleased. Just sayin and my opinion....Band nice drills, nice sound Boom, and GREAT job J-Settes! AWESOME!
