This show reminds me more of getter robo (in mecha only). The design is like escaflowne cuz its the same guy but the three forms from three ships is getter all over and i love that. it adds a lot of different ways a battle can go down.

this anime reminds me of Neon Genesis Evangelion. In the series, 3 special pilots have to ride large mechas called Evangelions or EVAs for short in order to defend the world from the Angels which are coming to supposedly cause the third impact a.k.a. the end of the world.
