  • The girls on the team are only from the one sister school of CBHS. I cheer for CBHS right now and there is no one on my team that comes from any other school.

  • @CBHScheer2012 OK well that is good!

  • Christian Brothers was what Christian Brothers was because of the influence of Gordon Kelly. The man was successful with every program he laid a hand on. CBHS, Sparkman, Mississippi College, even one year at Graves

  • @wrn1979 u must be Wes i assume? i cheered at GC from 07-09...did u cheer in the mid 90s or so? If so when did Gordon come and was this when Mrs Whitis was still the coach??

  • Still as good as I remember them back in the 80s when I was little. No team, imo, will ever compare.

  • blooblie, CBHS = UCA Conspiracy? ...Child Please

On another note, the megaphone man in this routine has to be the sexiest man I've ever seen. When he says "ready!" I go from six to midnight.

  • Mark - The only thing you forgot to mention is that CBHS was allowed to compete all these years with girls from multiple schools. That is called "all-stars" ... very unfair. The UCA office had turned down the same scenario for a couple if other all-boy / all-girls schools that I know of personally. Of course they were not from Memphis and were not coached by UCA office staff.

  • Hmm... I think that you may have a point if you are correct. But I do know that CBHS practiced like no other HS team that I have ever heard about, and THAT was the biggest reason they were successful IMO.

  • It's an all guys school, and the only girls used were from schools within the CATHOLIC DIOCESE in Memphis. Are you proposing we should have dressed up small boys and taught them how to fly?

  • why would i be suggesting that you would dress up your boys like girls. I coach and ALL boy school in Chattanooga called McCallie. I called to ask that since Christian brothers was allowed to have girls from 5 different schools to compete as 'Christian Brothers" then I should be able to do the same with my all male school and select girls from several different high school.....that would only be fair, right? well UCA shot that idea down and gave NO reason. It was obviously not fair.

  • @blooblie I cheer for CBHS right now and the only girls on our team are from one school and that is the sister school of CBHS.

  • i hope they come too mark. i am interested to see how they start out.

  • they're not coming back. some of the guys came to memphis elite cause they werent competing.

  • GCHS or Sun Prairie will NEVER touch them. They were only beat by another Memphis team...Craigmont...ONCE then another Memphis team, Cordova, almost beat them in 2004, but they are by far the best and I bet could win 2010 UCA NHSCC with this routine.

  • Why you hating on Graves and Sun Prairie??? And, actuallly, Craigmont beat CBHS 4 times - '94, '95, '00, AND '02. But I do agree, this routine would be competitive ANY year in UCA LG Coed.

  • I ain't hating. Can't nobody beat them. Sucks they don't compete anymore. They were at cheer camp though....not good.

  • They are telling people that they ARE going to compete this year. I hope they do.

  • A DYNASTY!!!!!!

  • idiot down there.. GC did not stand a chand to CB....CB has more difficulty and is a hell of a lot cleaner than GC.... obv u dont have a critical eye.... that painfully obvious....

  • that was the perfect song to end their routine with, loved it!!!

  • Go Brothers! Tide Roll! Wish I had an oppurtunity to cheer for the Bro's in '06! but they took it away. oh well. Good luck to the new crop.

  • Like 5 people asked if CBHS is coming back in 2009. If they are could someone answer that CUZI REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW! I went to 2006 UCA Nationals JSUT to see them. And they werent there. :(

  • I cheered for CBHS during the 2004 and 2005 yrs. Im the megaphone guy in this one. As far as Graves having a better routine your an idiot, they would get spanked by our watered down routines at regionals they stood no chance at nationals....

  • is CBHS for sure coming back in 2009??

  • I am flattered that you feel that way. But I coach Graves and I can't agree with you. Thanks for the vote of confidence though!

  • where did they go? how come they're not coming back until 2009?

  • im glad theyre coming back in the 2009 nationals...im tired of graves winning

  • We never asked CBHS to pack it in. They did b/c they weren't going to be as good in '06 and only had something like 3 little guys coming back. So, don't hate on GCHS b/c YOU cheer for Jackson Christian and have never gotten higher than 3rd at UCA!

  • I don't think Graves County has ever come close to beating Christian Brothers.

  • You are correct. We haven't. But, we didn't ask them to stop competing after '05. We never really got the chance to compete against them once we built up our program. I hope they come back and we get the chance.

  • I hope Mater Dei competes in large coed next year as well. It would be an 80's redux!

  • That would be awesome. They looked great this year in Small Coed.

  • wait a second! i never said anything negative about graves i just said that i was tired of them winning just like everyones tired of Sparkman takin over small coed...true JCS hasnt done better than 3rd but we were just two huge mistakes from 1st last year and you know it

  • Well, I would say that what you said about Graves would definitely qualify as negative. And there's a BIG difference between Sparkman and Graves. I WISH Graves was a dynasty like Sparkman, but we're not. And I disagree with what you say about last year. Even if you guys would have hit with no mistakes last year, Sparkman would have beat you. They beat Reidland and you guys by over 70 points. It wasn't even close.

  • alright lets get technical with it...10 points per judge per fall, according to nationals rules and regulations, with 1 and a half falls and out of 8 judges with the highest and lowest dropped...ill let you do the math but im betting that its more than 70 and another thing is Reidlands routine could not have been any better and they still only got second which just shows that they will NEVER get first especially when they are losing ALL of their guys after next year.

  • DUDE. You are cracking me up. First of all, there is no mandatory point deductions for falls/mistakes at UCA. So, your reasoning is flawed in that regard. I will agree that RHS did as well as they could and STILL got beat by 70 last year. We were really fortunate to get 2nd last year. As far as that last comment, I'm not going to even justify it with a comment. But thanks for giving me some posterboard material for Reidland for the future!

  • How do you know this ???

  • Was that question to me? I know people that cheered at CBHS and they told me that there was almost no hope of the team being as good in '06. But on top of that and probably more importantly, Darby had nothing left to prove. AND, he was probably TIRED. CBHS practiced EVERY day and twice on Sat and he had kept up that crazy schedule for years. And did I mention that he had nothing left to prove. Either way, CBHS will forever be THE measure for HS coed teams.

  • wait what happened to them?

  • aww tear i miss you guys running in to the pool after you won COME BACK CBHS!

  • man I miss cbhs you guys where the best high school cheerleading team ever.

  • CBHS RIP WE MISS YOU!!!
