@tbirdsport302 You can, but the wiper controls use small bulbs that are soldered to the circuit board, and the light controls also use a small bulb, when you pull the headlight control out, you'll see a little grey disk with a flat-head slot, turn it counter clockwise and pull it out, you'll need to match that bulb type. I suggest going to the dealer and getting it.
thanks man this rlly helped me (: could u do another vid on how to hook up subs and amp to the stock head unit? im too poor for a new one and also i like my steering wheel controls lmao (:
@britlynforever I don't own this truck anymore, but if you want to keep your stereo controls make sure you buy a head unit that is InfraRed capable. Next you can buy a module that connects to the green data wire and will act as an IR Remote and will control any deck. If you just want a sub hooked up to your stock HU though, you can tap the sub wires into the rear speaker wires. Not as clear as an aftermarket HU with RCA outputs. I've had both, big difference.
Thanks so much for this. I live in Ottawa and the dealership I go to wouldn't fix the cluster lights in my 05 blazer because they said they weren't repairable and wanted to charge me $500.00 to take it out, then send it to Toronto to be rebuilt. What a joke!! Where did you buy the replacement bulbs and did you also buy new sockets for the bulbs or re use the old ones. Thanks again!!
@supersanchez1991 After you remove the gauge cluster, the clear plastic part is just hooked on by a few plastic tabs. Very easy to remove with a flat head screw driver.
You my man, are a life saver/miracle worker, there may be many others who CAN do this, but you were the only one to put it on youtube. And we all hank you for that.
Dude i effin love you for this vid. I have A dash light out and i didnt wana go to a shop cause theyd bend me over. Thanks now im sure i can do it myself!
hey i got a 2000 sonoma with the same dash and everything
i wanted to replace the dash lights with blue led's, but i couldnt get that plate off, because of my shifter, and my truck wouldnt let me take the key out when it was in neutral
by chance would you know the dash illumination wire color? my switch in the dash burntt out again from bass, and so im looking just to simply bypass it to a toggle, Thanks!
@03canadianf5 hey thanks anyway man, but no i tried posting a similar quesiton and well no one but a GM dealership has the schematics and color codes, and i refuse to pay 160 dollars for a 40 dollar illumination switch in the dash...
@03canadianf5 YO I HAVE A CHEVY BLAZER 2000 AND IM TRYING TO INSTALL A NEW STEREO, SO FAR YOUR VIDEO HAS BEEN OF GREAT HELP BUT IM HAVING TROUBLE REMOVING THOSE SWITCHES BEHIND THE DASH AT 4:01, ANY SUGGESTIONS ?
Awesome! I have to try and access an AutoStart module and the GM bypass module which are tucked up way in a corner behind the dash. This should help a lot!
Hey man, I just wann thankyou for this How-to tutorial. Ive searched online and have found nothing close to what you have described and showed. Can't even find guides on how to take this apart. Thanks again!
I have an '04 blazer 4 door 4x4. And in your blazer guages are doing the same thing mine are, where they dont go completelly to the far left ( zero - 0 - ) position and im curious why and what could be causing the problem weither i got a bad gague going or its something electrical. U sound like a person who works in the service dept, so im relying on your judgement before i go to a dealership and they find out a problem and charge me an arm and a leg thanx..
Good job, thanx for taking the time.

Can you replace the bulbs on your Headlight Controls and your Rear Wiper Controls? If you can I'm guessing they are 194's also right?

@bradxdieden You've gotta squeeze it real hard, or use a small flat-head screwdriver.
