  • As a Wisconsinite, I love how Onslow was wearing a Green Bay Packers Shirt.

  • I love her queenly wave at the end while drenched. Quite heartening, really. Sums her up very well.

  • its Richard I feel most sorry for, i meant he vicor and the neighbours only have to put up with her for a few hours, but poor Richard its a life senctence.

  • But poor Richard.... He got drenched as well....

  • The whole episode is a scream, but the funniest part to me was when Liz and Emmitt laughed their asses off at Hyacinth's drenching!!! LMFAO!

  • hyacinth is a very impatient person. she wanted to go as fast as people in the olympics! ha ha

  • I really Like violet, and It made me smile to see Onslow wearing my favorite American Football team on his shirt.

  • Say, can anyone tell what brand of beer Onslow is drinking? I can't quite make out what the can says.

  • @thefungarian Looks like Stones

  • I've heard of messing about in boats but this is rediculous. XD

  • What is "going over the wier"? Sorry, I am not British

  • @Sulla2300 Basically it's going over a man-made waterfall.

  • you got to admire that stiff upper lip !

  • Thank you lord

  • i always put this show and 'One Foot In the Grave' in the same sort of comedy category, but after having watched all the episodes of K U A, O F I T G definately comes out No 1. As great as this show is, its just too samey in every episode and after watching 2 or 3 in a row you just want to give Hyacinth a good clout, she doesn't have quite the same appeal as Victor Meldrew. Maybe i'm missing the point, but still a great british comedy all the same....

  • Never thought of it but KUA and OFITG ARE the same plot (retired with an impossible mate). But KUA is more slapstick and OFITG is more of a comedy-drama.

  • know what??? How do the director do with the camera and the screenplayer that nobody of them are on the boat??

  • its seem like hycinth never went to school or anything. she acts very stupid! ex- "richard, why have they looked us in" "well i cant stay here for the tide to go out"

funny how they made hycinths character so stupid.

  • @ssg279 she's sort of professionally helpless, like a lot of women of a certain class and generation...which is funny considering how forceful she thinks she is. Richard's really in charge after all.

  • what is it that you see it repeatetly (hopefully I wrote it rightly) and still are amused!?

    And enjoy it again!!!

  • LOL. Man. I mean, even while wet she manages to wave like the queen. This woman makes me laugh like an idiot. lol

  • Hyacinth and rivers just don't mix!!! Soaked in this episode and fell overboard in another.

  • this is so much fun!

  • I think it was really sweet of Hyacinth to at least try and help Richard.. Usually she doesn't care or even notice if Richard is exhausted :)

  • I know it goes against the grain, but just once I would love to see it go right for our hyacinth.

  • @TheMrGobble I hear her candlelight suppers are often a huge success.

  • this has to be my favorite episode. haha.

  • My vote is for the Viccar

  • Out of all the characters, my fave is Elizabeth, she's so lovely! :) <3

  • i love emmet! he cracks me up!

  • just marvellous

  • I am American, so can someone tell me what "going over the weir" means? I never heard that expression

  • As far as I know, weirs are a type of dam where the water flows over the top. Going over the weir would be akin to amateur wild-water rafting.

  • A wier is a small man made 'waterfall', usually no more than a few feet high, but were origianlly designed to generate a bit of white water that could turn a small water wheel. Without the water they would look like a stone staircase. They also acted as a river barrier because normal river traffic couldn't pass over them. If you visit English country villages you can often walk across the top of a wier, because only a thin layer of water actually passes over the top of it.

  • Richard's voice gets oddly deep at 2:39

  • It akmost sounds alien doesn't it, it can't be real

  • creepy! Plus, it doesn't match his lip movement.

  • Richard not wearing a tie?

Should be about the first time in the whole series!

  • "I must warn you we've sailed on the QE2!" LOL you're not that important Hyacinth! :D

  • How absolutely wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isnt it the first time we saw violet? Or did I miss something?

  • We've seen her legs in one episode when she was trying to coax her husband down from a tree.

And we saw her figure all wrapped up in fur in another episode, but no physical features.

  • "Emmet! You're naughty" LMAO!!!

  • They've thrown her in, I bet somebody's just snapped- Onslow

    I couldn't stop laughing

  • I Love that line LMAO

  • This is the funniest sit-com of all time. Wish they made more like this, instead of the drivel today. It may be just me, but so much that is called entertainment is not.

  • I agree 110%!

  • LOL. It's ok. It's not just you. You're absolutely right.

  • i cudnt agree more to that! one of the best comedy series!

  • Oh wow! It's Hyacinth's sister Violet (You know, the one with the Mercedes, swimming pool, sauna and room for a pony). I've never seen Violet in any previous episodes and she looks so much like Rose(She's not the one with the Mercedes, swimming pool, sauna and room for a pony). Are Violet and Rose played by the same actress?

  • Rose is played by Mary Miller

  • and violet is played by anna dawson

  • I was wondering if it was her real sister?

  • pure class! best episode. ohh theres that dishy emmett...ooh theres that dishy vicar!

  • lol. i think rose is best!

  • Onslow--"they've thrown her in, I bet somebody's just snapped" LOL

  • I Love how Hyacinth is Cool and Collected.

  • That's true... You DO have to admire, "that stiff upper lip." :^)

  • OMG! This is the very episode that made me watch the show when I was a little girl.

    Gawd, i love Hyacinth.

  • "Keeping up Appearances" has to be one of the best comedies ever produced. This show is pure genius. Too bad it's not shown on television anymore but at least we have it on YouTube.

  • how bout the outdoors indoors luxury barbecue and finger buffet

  • that one was also hilarious!

  • emmet

emmet bad to the bone !

  • Riparian Entertainments! That's great!

  • We enjoyed the riparian entertainment, too, Vicar. ;)

  • Great episode!

  • FAB, thanks lol
