to me 351w were a mixed bag of a motor. I've seen some that were just plain killers and some that were complete hogs. The 97 f250 I just sold had a 351w and it was a the biggest hog I ever owned!!!!!! I've had 300 I-6 outpull this one I had.
That's great man, the 351W were great powerful motors, Ford's are built strong but I'm honestly surprised you didn't snap a drive shaft ujoint pulling a load like that.
Look at the wheels on the Semi @ 6-8 secs. It would help if the semi at least had it out of gear, or took his foot off the breaks . The wheels arent moving !!
my 95 had the windsor. it sat for 3 years without being started or moved with over 500k on it. dropped a new battery in and it fired right up. after an oil change, trans flush, a tune up and some new gas i was towing more weight in 2 wheel than any brand new chevy could handle in 4 low
man i thought that truck had a 460 in it haha thats sweet looks like u had it in low range and using the brakes to prevent tire slippage but im not sure if thats what u did. it still a sweet vid lol
Nice my dad has the same thing. He also had a Trans am with a Lt1 and a Old stang built up for drags, when he got the 460 he just put the TA and stang in the backyard. haha i think you will enjoy your truck :)
my opinion, but im not sure if it was the ford alone pulling the semi out cause it didnt show the front of the ford , so there might have been another truck helping the ford as well...
Wow! You should be one to speak. Ford did, and still does run gas engines in their F-250's dumbfuck. Its called a 302 and 351 and also the 460.....those are all gasoline engines. All of which are run in an f-250.
I pulled a fully loaded 13 ton (13 tons empty) box truck out of the mud (it was stuck and the guy had buried the rear wheels) with my 90 f150 with the 5.0 302 in 4hi, didn't even have to put it in 4lo
i hope your not serious, they make gas engiens in the 250 adn 350. its called the triton v10. it doesnt take any knowledge to know any of that. altho i did work in the service bay at ford for a while so i could answer alomst any ford truck question you could have. so dont come at me with this shit dumbass. fuck off bc your the biggest fucking idiot on this board now.
Okay, I have a question. Why would my truck always run really crappy when its cold and damp conditions? It an '87 F250 351 with a holley 4 barrel. its deffinately not: spark pug wires, spark plugs, or anything of that nature. Think about it and let me know if you come up with any possible solutions.
depends, does it run crappy the whole time or just when its cold? cuz carbs need to warm with the rest of the motor. if its not spark, try ignition, fuel delivery, fuel pump and cleaning the carb or possibly rebuilding it. also check for clogs or holes in your exhaust including manifold. how many miles on the motor? when was it last rebuilt if ever? how old is the carb? it prolly has to do with the breathers,b/c when its cold and damp theres less air and more moisture which causes flooding
it sounds like your carb isnt breathing as well as it should be maybe the butterflies are getting stuck. the cold and moisture effects that. id say rebuild yoru carb. just get a rebuild kit from autozone. it most likely is the carb. if not try the other things i said. hope that helps good luck man!
if damp effects it I would say ignition, spray wd40 on leads see if difference is made.
Have u changed inlet manifold for a non water heated item as inlets can ice up so fuel falls out of suspension in air, some have the inlet directed at exhaust manifold for warm air, have u got a fancy filter by any chance like a K & N?
Or was holley standard?
In uk holleys have bad reputation for missfires/ faults, maybe due to inexperienced mechanics or quality, not sure.
shiftiixii, your talking about a diesel, this is a gas engine. more impressive period. no one cares what a diesel can pull because weve seen it all before. this is absolutley amazing.
thats nothing compared to what a duramax did pulling out a tracotr tailer with a combine on it, thats balls not this shitty ford a fuckign half ton could prolly do this
You mean the 97-2003 F150, good idea basing your argument on a crash test on a truck that hasn't been built in the US for 5 years, who's the safest car company now? FORD. 351 Windsor is a good motor, better than a chevy 350, heck, an Olds rocket 350 is a better engine than the chevy 350.
Ive got a 93 f150 with this motor. Pulled my 82 mercedes (4300 lbs) 600 miles with overdrive off. 75-80 whole way...around 3500-3700 rpm....GREAT TRUCK
thats real power i pulled my uncles 379 out of the mud with my 83 f150 he was sunk down pretty good and i was on wet grass the front of his truck was covered in mud when i was through but i got it out ford power lets see weak ass chevy do that
Hey, not to be a smartass, but that IS a 379 with a standard hood. You are thinking of the extended hoods (most common) as they don't slope. A 378 has the headlights integrated into the fenders. :)
i have the same lookin truck except mine is a 95 f-150 302, 4x4, 5 speed.

Low range and tires on tarmac will do that easily and if you have a low gears in the axles it doesn't really matter what engine you have.

Thats true, I have seen a 2.25 diesel landrover with about 70bhp pull a london bus....slowly!
Still this does look easy with suck a heavy load and stuck in mud!
