What a mess... I love this band, they are incredibly progressive and talented, but they really need to work on their live performances. Did they really have to add the wind instruments? It just added to the confusion. They should simplify their live performances and just play the bare essentials.
@RHCPfan are you kidding me? i could follow this performance perfectly fine. you probably just don't know wax simulcra too well. they've also had adrian terrazas-gonzalez playing wind for awhile. and if they simplified to the bare essentials then they wouldn't be the mars volta would they? they're anything but simple

Mars Volta Fans Check out upcoming LA local band "Cityzen". They just recorded their debut album "Invisible Mental Tentacles" with Robert Carranza (The 5-Time Grammy Winning Engineer who recorded TMV's "The Bedlam in Goliath" scoring another Grammy for this song!) You can find their Debut Album on iTunes. You won't regret it!
so, glad that they sacked that sax player, not that he was bad, but i mean, if they could do something as amazing as inertiac esp without him, plus, goliath, one of my personal faves, has no sax on it, and its fucking ear melting, fuck these guys rock!
@jerrytheman1987 no, but I'm not fucking deaf like you are. It's not too hard to hear someone singing off key and it doesn't take an expert to see that his vocal performance isn't the greatest here.
wow, just saw them on vh1 gods of rock, and just had to check 'em out! I mean WOW, this is just REAL ROCK. Marilyn manson can kiss his ass goodbye, this is just extremely amazing! I am just speechless! I mean come on, this has got to be one of the best band the world has EVER seen!
@JohnTheRipper2 you just learned about them man! Holy fuck man, the first time I heard them I was driving really fast down the freeway at night on acid...if an orgasm could kill haha!
Not even the mighty Mars Volta, it seems, are able to awaken that crowd from their Britney-induced slumber; indelible proof that society has much to answer for since the advent of MTV.

Granted it sounds good here. However, ive listened to The Bedlam In Goliath on over 15 different high end hi-fi's (we're talking ranging from £300 to £8000 here) and the album mix isnt as clear. Ive had the album for about 8 months, and to this day im still hearing different bits with different sound systems and different headphones.
Kudos to the audio engineer on MTV Canada for such a good job.
