i really think its the lack of planning.... im not sure how it goes down in afghan right now but im sure most Blue on Blue situations happen when soldiers are not in correct squad formation...especially when out in the desert.
and at night operations where its hard to see.
and possibly british fireteam ops setting up claymores and possibly an american or afghan national army group possibly firing upon the fireteam not knowing them talibans are there...
Now I am not sure exactly what happened (although I heard about it on the news) but friendly fire is expected in every war! Along with all the other ugly things of war: innocent casualties, hate, etc... We are still allies!
Your brother in arms,
seeker (some proud American)
FYI-Friendly fire goes down both roads, how many US soldiers have been killed by UK? by US? etc.
our boys are out there under orders not to fire or return fire unless they are 100% sure... i can garentee you that alot more british and american troops have been killed by american troops than british ones, infact it really wouldnt surprise me that more of our troops have been killed by 'friendly fire' than they have in actual enemy engagements!
... these things do happen in war, but i think with better training and less trigger happy attitudes... it would happen a whole lot less.

I love that suit, especially the S10 gas mask and the British Kevlar helmet. Interesting video, lol!

British camo is lame!

that would explain why you could see us to shoot us... at which point does 'friendly fire' become incompetence?
