i think he's confused. TheOriginal William Hartnell serial "The Daleks" was originally called "The Mutants" but was changed when a Jon Pertwee episode had the same name. However, the Daleks were always called "The Daleks."

Sorry, I know I should just leave it at that but there are 2 origins to the daleks. The original being that they were created after a race called the dals mutated from a nuclear explosion and the second on being that davros used kaled civillians to create daleks. Sorry I'm a Dr Who nerd.

Actually you are correct , But the First draft of the 1963 Serial the Daleks , the Second episode episode was called the Mutants !
