@BaldMonkey77 There are no xeno eggs in the movie. Those are ampules. The "ship" isn't even the same derelict in Alien, nor is the planet LV426. You can find a lot out with a simple search for such facts.

Prometheus is a prequel for the first Alien movie which was made in 1979, thanks to the Alien movie video games like Dead Space and Halo exist. Bungiee said it them self then the Alien franchise inspired them to make the Halo universe, same thing for Dead Space.

Now, since in AVP, the Aliens turned out to be some sort of Aztec-ian tribe that descended down, and since they already "looked" as if they already had merged with a certain species, AVP would be AFTER "Prometheus".
@THX11003 But doesn't AVP take place in EXACTLY 2004? This I believe takes place in the 22nd century, I think. It is also believed the "Predators" (Or the "Hiss" as they are called in the comic books) probably discovered and took the eggs to be used in their ritualistic practices of "Manhood" (A practice still most often used today in African hunting tribes). Something tells me this isn't the only planet the "Aliens" partake in, but merely one of many. Larger things are at work here.

I'm not as sure with Dead Space, but I can name other sources that Dead Space could have gotten inspiration from just as much if not more than Alien. Can't confirm this one though.

You could find voice actors, partners to work with on projects, help, advice, tips, constructve criticism, and people who could share their videos. Now, aspiring Machinima makers like me are left to find all those things on my own.

Prometheus is a prequel for the first Alien movie which was made in 1979, thanks to the Alien movie video games like Dead Space and Halo exist. Bungiee said it them self then the Alien franchise inspired them to make the Halo universe, same thing for Dead Space.

Amazing movie and a timeless classic. Can't wait for Prometheus to come out, but Ridley Scott himself stated that "While this movie may be a prequel to 'Alien' it will not however directly involve itself with the classic 'Xenomorph' everyone loves. We have something special planned."

I must have seen the Alien Movies (Aside from Resurrection... ugh!) about a dozen times and yet not every question was ever answered.
While certain prequels now a days may be considered unnecessary or crappy (Star Wars, Star Trek, and The Terminator), Alien sticks out as one that not only holds potential but also seems more necessary than others.
This looks good, I just hope it's not entirely plagued with CGI.

@dxBIGBOSSxb Well he is referring to what the ALIEN will look like before it takes on a human host. I am assuming it will be a sort of parasite. Hence the scene where the guy is in pain...as if he is burning from the inside. Then the scene with the guy putting his hands on his helmet...AS IF he was sprayed with acid from the inside. Also, i assume the film will end with a distress signal being made by one of the space jockeys. Remember, this is what happens BEFORE "ALIEN".

We were at one point simple chemicals, that somehow went from a microorganism, to a fish, to an ape, to what you call a "human". We did the same thing! Now, since in AVP, the Aliens turned out to be some sort of Aztec-ian tribe that descended down, and since they already "looked" as if they already had merged with a certain species, AVP would be AFTER "Prometheus".

@THX11003 But doesn't AVP take place in EXACTLY 2004? This I believe takes place in the 22nd century, I think. It is also believed the "Predators" (Or the "Hiss" as they are called in the comic books) probably discovered and took the eggs to be used in their ritualistic practices of "Manhood" (A practice still most often used today in African hunting tribes). Something tells me this isn't the only planet the "Aliens" partake in, but merely one of many. Larger things are at work here.

@Nightmare78hAlo Ehh.. It wasn't the sole inspiration for either game. I believe if I remember right, Alien primarily inspired part of the design of Elites, and the design of the Pelican. Other than that, it didn't do a whole lot for Halo.
I'm not as sure with Dead Space, but I can name other sources that Dead Space could have gotten inspiration from just as much if not more than Alien. Can't confirm this one though.

@SpartaeDei The elites in Halo were inspired off of the Predator with the camo and the four jaws. I believe that part of Halo was inspired off of Aliens. Halo would exist without Aliens, but it would be much more different then what we remember. I bet the flood were partly inspired off of the facehugger.

@ZazarStudios I think the Elites were a combo of the two- think of the headshape of the Aliens and the general design of Elite headguear (particularly councellor). Though yes, I agree that Predator was a big inspiration on Elites.
Flood could have been from a myriad of influences, Aliens is possible I'm sure.
