Your rolls are quite pulsed meaning one hand is quite choked sounding when your making the buzzes on your roll, making it sound uneven and not smooth and uniform. A good roll sounds like someone tearing a piece of paper in half slowly.

I'm looking at this from a judge point of view, and i would have to say that you have chops, that can not be denied, from doubles, to paradiddles, to sixtuplets, and i believe I saw some swiss army triplets in there. But 2 things that would make this so much clean, and crisp. Actually 3(3rd ones just more reps of it).
1st is to add some dynamics, judges love seeing players actually change their sound quality. 2nd is to make the rhythms smooth instead of covering up in tricks. Very nice though.
For those of you who have asked about the snare drum, it is a 14" Pearl Championship snare. The batter head is a remo white max and the snare head is a remo falams II smooth white. I made this video in 2005 so I'm not quite sure what sticks I was using. I believe they were Promark Jeff Moore signature nylon tip sticks. I like the vic firth corpsmater ralph hardimon wood tip sticks better though. I apologize for not answering sooner. Remember, if it ain't broke..break it!
I can take criticism, I appreciate it. It's just people being rude that annoys me sometimes. There's a difference. I haven't clicked on everyone's profile who's been rude, but a few times I have. Sometimes they have videos of themselves on there and they're not much better, and sometimes they have videos of other people, and once in a while they are really impressive. In a few cases none of them have anything good to say about anybody. But I'm not rude in return. I just keep it to myself.

this is pretty terrible...learn the traditional grip brah cause you obviously do not know it. your backsticking and walkin the stick ain't shit. learn some rudiments and how to play rolls.

Im not going to Lie the first time I watched this I was kinda impressed but then I listened to it with my eyes closed and It does sound really dirty. LIke he's got chops but he does need to clean them up. Work on some dynamics too. dynamics make every thing better.
If he would play something harder maybe you could say he rocks, and I don't have a video cam yet...but when I get one I can show you how good I am, I play Tenors not Snare.

the only thing i didnt like about this, is that you were moving really fast and i enjoy a somewhat slower tempo on a snare, but it wasnt bad.

Adding in dynamics should not change your sound quality AT ALL; just the volume.
