Anyways, I'm one of the younger people in a filipino community group from my area, my mom is thinking of doing this dance with me, my friend, my friends mom, but we need some other person, Do you think the fifth person is mandatory, or do you think we'll be okay with just 4 people?
@TamaCutieAnime I was born and raised in the Philippines, mostly Metro Manila but I did spend a lot of summers in Baguio ans some other wonderful places. In my opinion 4 would work if you really can't find a fifth.
may i know the name of the song? im introducing philippines culture to my school though im not a filipino...im introducing this dance to my class and hope to perform it tis december...

oh yes, let's all thank columbus for initiating over 600 years of European oppression. Let us all thank him for spreading the disgusting diseases of the white man. Let us all thank him for relentlessly starting the destruction of millions of indegenous people's lives and cultures. For all these, we should thank him!
this is how filipinos celebrate... we have our own ways and we have a different culture.. so if you dont like it then get over it cause we love our country and you need to respect it.
why don't you listen to the melody... the scales are heptatonic in nature (the kind you find in western music) the original scales used in the Philippines are the kinds utilized in Indonesia and Malaysia. But ever since the Spaniards colonised the philippines... we acquired this very unoriginal genre of music.
If you know anything about the Philippines, they were conquered once by Spain (Europeans). Thus some of their music is Euro-Spanish influenced. Actually, Filipinos and Mexicans have much in common, in that they were both Colonized by the Spanish at one time, and intermixed, giving them Latin names. My fiancee is Filipina from Cebu. Her last name is "Rama" which is Spanish meaning "branch".
i would just like to say... that you have NO right to say such a thing. Stop acting like a ignorant person. OH! and just so you kno. I'm in that dance.
Bulaklakn ang title ng music that could be found in the book Philippine National Dances by Francisca Reyes Tolentiono. Maraming available na recorded musics nyan.
may i know the title of the song used in this dance? thanks a lot! i just need it.. thanks again! :)

Same as the dance the song is entitled Bulaklakan. There's a version if you google search Leopoldo Silos and Bulaklakan.

furthermore, the instruments are not even indigenous to the Philippines... European crap.

There are many instruments that originated in the Philippines. Do you want a list? I'll give it to you.
