Actually I used to live in Westminster in London, and it's true. There were immigrants working in the housing dept that, for about 2000 pounds would make sure you were put up the list. Most of these were arabs, and I was staying with an arabic famliy at the time and they told me.I reported this tio the MP who called me for more information. Everyone knows that immigrants are getting prefferential treatment over housing. They even have goverment funded housing organisations for so called certain ethnic minorities. My Mother had to wait for 13 years to get a damp two bed room maisonate in Surrey and that was back in the seventies when council housing was common! On another case a Polish family, hard working, two teenage sons and one older daughter could not get a home, baby just arrived. They have gone to private rented. If we all have masses of kids we cannot afford then maybe we will get a house - bloody silly!

Actually I used to live in Westminster in London, and it's true. There were immigrants working in the housing dept that, for about 2000 pounds would make sure you were put up the list. Most of these were arabs, and I was staying with an arabic famliy at the time and they told me.I reported this tio the MP who called me for more information. Something IS going on.Does George Galloway stay in a council house? I'll bet not, and I'll also bet he doesn't know what is really going on.

If you get a british born couple that go on the council house waiting list they most probably will never get a house or a flat.
Then you have someone who immigrates from Pakistan with about three kids who go straight to the front of the queue. THAT is wrong. And it can happen in the current system.
Then, thanks to our old friend Thatcher, they can buy them for a knocked down price and turn them into mansions.

The policy is the council has a priority to house you if you have dependants. The issue is due to mass imgmigration and the swelling population as a whole, in truth there just isn't enough to go round. It's not really about race. Immigration is not the whole issue, although having worked for the homeless persons unit I have seen some stuff that have made me mad that I can't disclose.

"The British Empire is a thing long dead and in the past" i think you can say that the empire was in the past but i dont think its safe to say its LONG DEAD. most of the west indies did not gain independence till well into the 60's. thats not that long ago. thats how asain and west indians was able to emmigrate as they were still under the british empire in the 60s and 50s.they were invited into the country its not like they just showed up.

They were allowed to immigrate into Britain because it needed cheap labour and in order to keep the wages of the workers down, just as is happening now. That's what really annoys me about the Left. They support immigration, but as a consequence the health service is put under strain, and the extra pool of labour prevents the British workers from demanding higher wages. It's not the immigrants that are to blame (who can blame them wanting a better life?) it's the fault of our bastard politicians.

Everyone knows that immigrants are getting prefferential treatment over housing. They even have goverment funded housing organisations for so called certain ethnic minorities. My Mother had to wait for 13 years to get a damp two bed room maisonate in Surrey and that was back in the seventies when council housing was common! How else are the immigrants not getting preferential treatment????

On another case a Polish family, hard working, two teenage sons and one older daughter could not get a home, baby just arrived. They have gone to private rented. If we all have masses of kids we cannot afford then maybe we will get a house - bloody silly!

Galloway is wrong, I know that there are immigrants who have obtained council homes before any other family. Its happens all the time in Bolton. One family from Czech moved upthe list to get a home as they have 6 kids, British families do not normally have so many children. They are also on Benefits, claimed £8000 on arrival, then another £5000, all spend in Casino by father. If we move abroad we are expected to provide for ourselves, why not same for those who arrive here?
