@mralanv, I totally agree with you on it being one of the best produced. I loved it, and had a ton of fun with that game. I also loved the story line, it rekindled me to when I was playing FF7 with the same emotions I was feeling and the in depth storyline.
This is the only Final Fantasy i'll ever play. I just grew attached to the characters. Damn it! I cried when I beat the game. Damn. I need help.. Haha. I wish it were longer.
final fantasy 12 was different, which is nice but i feel that story was like the 1600's except they had the latest technology and all that, which was kinda weird, but it became more interesting when they start to talk about nethicite, that was pretty kool.
the prob is: FFXII never seemed to click. and that's it. although I liked playing FFX way more, the story in FFXII is cool, characters are cool, too - there is nothing wrong with this game. but like I said: it didn't click.
This game is one of the best final fantasy in my opinion.It has all I wanted and then some like having big towns to explorer,summons,buds for side quest,and alot of gameplay to explorer unlike final fantasy 13 the only 3 things that pissed me off about the game is there is no towns,the fighting style,and we can't buy sword or shields.Square Enix should make a game like 7,8,x, and 12.
Underrated! the Final Fantasy turned-based formula is actually in this game, If people would actually pay attention. U click and they use that Attack, Magic, Summon or whatever. The only difference is that Final Fantasy 12 uses the field as it battlefield, This made a great contribution to Square Enix's way of developing.. The fact is.. Everyone wants the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children like gameplay! If people would stop complaining they will actually get what they want. FF 12 was splendid

@funakiexpress This game was baller. Didn't much care for the ending though. Forging an alliance with Vayne and marching their consolidated forces against Giruvegan and the Occuria would have been much more climactic.
@funakiexpress I feel that both IX and XII have the best setting. I really like the medieval-furistic atmosphere they both have. However, if I'd have to pick one, I'd pick IX. I think that the main characters are deeper.
2:19 I just love the way they have built the intro cinematic when they show the sword emerging with some magic effects and forming the game's logo of Gabranth. It really cheers me up! :D

@kingboss9000 It's not a fact that the game had a terrible story and characters, that's just how you see it. A lot of people would disagree. I myself felt that same way about Final Fantasy VII, but that's a far less popular opinion amongst the fanbase.

The only thing I haven't finished in this game was Yiazmat. 50 Million hp was too much for me.
For me, FFXII had some of my most memorable FF moments. (Underleveled battle with Gilgamesh and the ultimate struggle against Omega Mark XII, to mention 2 of them.)
@PianoWheatley If a ff games if the characters and story suck to you, then the whole game will suck. that's the way I look at it anyway. Games to me are at a point where It's so easy for them to tell a cinematic story that we can literally criticize the "acting" and plot more than ever...so in a way it's kinda like I didn't like this movie :3. Kinda like some people liked Star wars 3 and some didn't. same thing. But as far as gameplay goes...it was pretty straight forward.
12 is my favorite...the characters the setting. From my days with vagrant story and ff tactics, the world of Ivalice of one of all time top best. Screw ff 13-2 and all that I want a vagrant story 2 or another final fantasy 12. Love Balthier and Fran

i love FFXII anyone who played FFXI will come to love this. During it's time when FFXI was crap THIS was the game to be. It was basically like an Off line version of XI. In some ways it does resemble a lot of Vangrant Story. A damn good game to play! I could care less about FFXIII and XIII - 2 / and FFXIV. To me those games a crap they just totally went backgrounds with those two.
It was underrated, in my opinion. Received a lot of mediocre scores. But, really and truly, this is one of my favorite Final Fantasies. Well worth playing over Final Fantasy XIII in my opinion. I never did get Zodiark, though. Nor did I bother killing Yiazmat; got him down to about 26million HP before I fell asleep. Needless to say, that didn't end well.
@PootyHead R U serious!? Didn't know that it received mediocre scores :( I think FF12 was one of the best Final Fantasy games that I've played. FF13 was a little disappointment. It's a good game but it lacks what Final Fantasy is known for. FF12 started something new and still had the same aspects with the previous ones which many players as myself enjoys. I think FF12 is far better than FF13 in terms of gameplay imo.
They need a new direction with the combat/ gameplay system. FF13 was oks, but forget about all that crap. It needs to be fast paced combat with computer controlled coop style, like you see in Resident Evil Operation Racoon city. In a sense FF is going back to Secret of mana roots. Let the computer control the other characters in a coop way. You deal with your own character in fast paced combat and that will take care of the gameplay.
FF12 opening scene is truly EPIC to say the least. The classic FFcrystal theme song plus Tour de Japon FF theme song, is surely a kicker. FF12 was jammpacked with quests, little secrets, character upgrades, boss fights, epic battles etc. The problem with FF is that with 60 to 100+ hours you need a frikkin AWESOME story to get people glued to the screen. FF12 did not deliver on the story. Neither did FF13. Plus the new gameplay direction style is at times too boring and confusing.

@megataikotai is it at the early part/room in the stillshrine of miriam? Well first you have to equip the Dawn Shard on the character that you control, then you press the switch, if you not equip it, when you press the switch only zombies come out

I've played this game, and final fantasy x. *SPOILERS?* But in final fantasy x, the game froze for me, at the part where Yuna almost gets married to that douche with the blue hair who looks like he can be in the oranization 13 in kingdom hearts 2. One of the greatest games ever made. Story, characters, environments, music is pure euphoria, the whole atmosphere in FF12 is something you don't encounter in many games. You just can't get enough of this game. Even leveling up is fun and interesting if you have your fav characters, weapons and map. FF13 was nothing like this. Graphics aren't all that matters. I think I never stop playing it. There might be breaks, but I always pick up my ps2 controller instead of my ps3 controller. FF12 FTW!!!!
I love the music that starts at 1:50! It comes straight from the first final fantasy. When you cross the first bridge in the game you get to see the main credits and and this song (I want to call it an interlude). I've long since wished I had bought final fantasy on nes when I was a young one.
This is my 2nd favorite after FF:X. It's true that the story was more political and of course *cough* romantic scenes were rare. But the battle system, side quests, dungeons, espers... they're all amazing.
this is my favorite Final Fantasy, the game is incredible, it's big, beautiful, and has a great story, some find it bad to have innovated the series, but it is exactly this point that he has conquered, this of course is my opinion ^ ^
The thing about the gambit system is once you search for the right gambits to use in gamefaqs or something, it gets boring. Thinking of the best gambit settings is part of the game.
One more thing, I enjoyed the game better when I limited each character to a role or class (much like zodiac job system did) compared to making them all overpowered mageknights.
final fantasy 12 totally eat alot of my time :) but it sure is satisfying to play, to be honest i do not think final fantasy is the best rpg, graphics are good yeah but i played all ff series but none of them made my blood boil, the tales series and suikoden series i think is much better :P
Square owns the best Computer Animation division on the planet, bar none. Not even Pixar can stand before them. Avatar is more like Amateur compared to them.

Final Fantasy 12 had a good plot once you reach the middle of the game. The problem is that you spent so much time running around in a cave or tomb (GIANT LIGHTHOUSE WITH 10 LEVELS) that you get annoyed and eventually stop caring and youtube everything.

he can constantly do 9999's once you give him beserk, not to mention he does like 3-4 hits whenever his attack meter goes up.

@kingboss9000 Now you are just trying to force your opinion on others. I really, really liked FFXII. I liked the story, the soundtrack, the characters, the game play and especially the freedom.
The only thing I haven't finished in this game was Yiazmat. 50 Million hp was too much for me.
For me, FFXII had some of my most memorable FF moments. (Underleveled battle with Gilgamesh and the ultimate struggle against Omega Mark XII, to mention 2 of them.)
But, to each their own I guess.

@PianoWheatley If a ff games if the characters and story suck to you, then the whole game will suck. that's the way I look at it anyway. Games to me are at a point where It's so easy for them to tell a cinematic story that we can literally criticize the "acting" and plot more than ever...so in a way it's kinda like I didn't like this movie :3. Kinda like some people liked Star wars 3 and some didn't. same thing. But as far as gameplay goes...it was pretty straight forward.

How many of the Games actually have the original opening theme in them? I've heard it in FFI (of course), FFIV, FFVII (in the Ending for some reason), and now FF XII... But I heard FFIII got it too..

i love FFXII anyone who played FFXI will come to love this. During it's time when FFXI was crap THIS was the game to be. It was basically like an Off line version of XI. In some ways it does resemble a lot of Vangrant Story. A damn good game to play! I could care less about FFXIII and XIII - 2 / and FFXIV. To me those games a crap they just totally went backgrounds with those two.

It was underrated, in my opinion. Received a lot of mediocre scores. But, really and truly, this is one of my favorite Final Fantasies. Well worth playing over Final Fantasy XIII in my opinion. I never did get Zodiark, though. Nor did I bother killing Yiazmat; got him down to about 26million HP before I fell asleep. Needless to say, that didn't end well.

@PootyHead R U serious!? Didn't know that it received mediocre scores :( I think FF12 was one of the best Final Fantasy games that I've played. FF13 was a little disappointment. It's a good game but it lacks what Final Fantasy is known for. FF12 started something new and still had the same aspects with the previous ones which many players as myself enjoys. I think FF12 is far better than FF13 in terms of gameplay imo.

They need a new direction with the combat/ gameplay system. FF13 was oks, but forget about all that crap. It needs to be fast paced combat with computer controlled coop style, like you see in Resident Evil Operation Racoon city. In a sense FF is going back to Secret of mana roots. Let the computer control the other characters in a coop way. You deal with your own character in fast paced combat and that will take care of the gameplay.

FF12 opening scene is truly EPIC to say the least. The classic FFcrystal theme song plus Tour de Japon FF theme song, is surely a kicker. FF12 was jammpacked with quests, little secrets, character upgrades, boss fights, epic battles etc. The problem with FF is that with 60 to 100+ hours you need a frikkin AWESOME story to get people glued to the screen. FF12 did not deliver on the story. Neither did FF13. Plus the new gameplay direction style is at times too boring and confusing.

@megataikotai you need to get out from the golmore jungle and then talk to the soldier at the outside entrance of the golmore jungle. . He'll ask you for a potion, give it to him and in return he'll lent you a chocobo. . take the chocobo and then find a path with chocobos' footprint, because there is path that only chocobo can to access. . It'll take you to the southern map of ozmoze plain, there is henne mine entrance. . Go explore it

@megataikotai is it at the early part/room in the stillshrine of miriam? Well first you have to equip the Dawn Shard on the character that you control, then you press the switch, if you not equip it, when you press the switch only zombies come out

I'm starting to get into the final fantasy series. I've played this game, and final fantasy x. *SPOILERS?* But in final fantasy x, the game froze for me, at the part where Yuna almost gets married to that douche with the blue hair who looks like he can be in the oranization 13 in kingdom hearts 2. XD LOL. Even though I haven't got far in that game, I still liked it. I love the Persona series, Tales Of series, and getting into the final fantasy series. About to play this and final fantasy x-2

For me, all Final Fantasy series is awesome! Well, I've only played FF1, FF4, FF7, FF8, FF9, FF10, FF12 and FF13, all of them is awesome. . But for some reasons, I'm really love FF12 a lot!!!!! The battle system, the characters, the stories and missions, and so much more. . Well then again, all final fantasy were awesome and I love FF12 the most!

Final Fantasy XII is the most politically complex FF ever.
The whole Archadian Empire plot is full of realism.
Those who did not like FFXII, it's because they got low grades in History class.

One of the greatest games ever made. Story, characters, environments, music is pure euphoria, the whole atmosphere in FF12 is something you don't encounter in many games. You just can't get enough of this game. Even leveling up is fun and interesting if you have your fav characters, weapons and map. FF13 was nothing like this. Graphics aren't all that matters. I think I never stop playing it. There might be breaks, but I always pick up my ps2 controller instead of my ps3 controller. FF12 FTW!!!!

I love the music that starts at 1:50! It comes straight from the first final fantasy. When you cross the first bridge in the game you get to see the main credits and and this song (I want to call it an interlude). I've long since wished I had bought final fantasy on nes when I was a young one.

This is my 2nd favorite after FF:X. It's true that the story was more political and of course *cough* romantic scenes were rare. But the battle system, side quests, dungeons, espers... they're all amazing.

The thing about the gambit system is once you search for the right gambits to use in gamefaqs or something, it gets boring. Thinking of the best gambit settings is part of the game.
One more thing, I enjoyed the game better when I limited each character to a role or class (much like zodiac job system did) compared to making them all overpowered mageknights.

Final Fantasy 12 had a good plot once you reach the middle of the game. The problem is that you spent so much time running around in a cave or tomb (GIANT LIGHTHOUSE WITH 10 LEVELS) that you get annoyed and eventually stop caring and youtube everything.
