  • I have a cook book, do you want it? I can give you the website:)

  • @6katchitchat Haha aww, it's all good, but thank you! I managed to find some sites with recipes.

I finished my third round not too long ago, it turned out okay.

  • hey did you find any good snacks or what you can have for breakfast that doesnt taste like cardboard? haha

if you do let me know!!

im about to go on the same diet after my surgery

  • Well, fresh fruit usually does the trick. Everything just gets kind of old after a while, but once it's over you'll be scarfing down all kinds of food like no other.

Good Luck! comment with more questions :]

  • ya thats what i was thinking haha

    well thank you[:

ill be sure to ask you if i have anymore questions

oh and i added you on myspace...my name is mama mia

    so add me!

  • Oh one more thing (since I'm on a roll here), and I haven't seen a response regarding why you feel lethargic in the absence of thyroid hormone supplements, so I'll share my two cents. Your thyroid hormone's functions are mainly for metabolism. So without those thyroid supplements, your body isn't able to metabolize a lot of the food that you eat, which leads to fatigue/weakness. This in turn causes another physiological response called vasodilation (brings blood to surface of body)causing sweat.

  • Also just to add another point. Your doctor should have told you what the purpose of the low-iodine diet before discharge. So yes, you're right he is stupid. Alright, well I'm hungry and I wish we had panda express in vancouver!

  • I was wondering what your diagnosis was? Did they do a total thyroidectomy or partial? based on your other video, the incision was pretty large so I assume it's total. Also that would explain the thyroid hormone supplements you've been taking. This is probably not helpful anymore given thats its been several months, but the low-iodine diet just sets your body up for a more effective radioactive iodine treatment. Having said that, it means more of your thyroid cells will absorb the RAI.

  • Ugh i hate ap history!! :O

  • Check out this video (Iodine Insufficiency and Cancer - Jorge D. Flechas, MD) and some of the related vids might help.

  • danielvincentkelly, you are CRAZY. cancer is just overgrowth of cells. it can happen anywhere! it all depends on where it is for a cure to actually BE a cure.

  • visit my website: w w w dott lamegame dott name. Search the lower box for "cure cancer". If you can't find it, send me a message and I'll send it to your email. But seriously, I've made a step by step guide on how to cure cancer that MAKES SENSE. I'm sure your doctor is a numnut who paid attention in school WHERE they are NOT teaching the CURE FOR CANCER. But it's seriously easy and requires mostly dietary change toward ALKALINITY. Write me please, Daniel Vincent Kelley

  • Hey..

Yes, its normal to feel that way.

    I have thyroid problems myself.

I always feel tired and i always burn up but the thing is.... i dont have cancer sooo i guess its different for you but just trying to help you out!!

  • Wow.. just watched some other new vids.. sounds crazy with all the stuff/diet you gotta do.. :( What kind of thyroid pills did they give you? T3? T4? Both of those speed up metabolism and can raise your internal body temp which would explain the heat you feel.. dunno.. Miss ya! :D hope to see you soon!

  • I was anticipating something that would have T3 and T4, and thyroxin and calcitonin and stuff. But the pill is called cytomel...I don't know what it does.

    love you bro! <3

  • Ah. Cytomel is T3. Really strong stuff from what I've read.. hope your okay with all the various crap you gotta take. Luv ya too and hopefully we'll jam sometime soon! :)

  • I'm guessing radioactive Iodine is going to be used in your radiation therapy, so that's likely why they want you to stay away from it until then. Also, pretty much all Iodine in your body is normally absorbed by your thyroid, so radioactive Iodine will target any remaining cancerous cells in that general vicinity.

Assuming that's how your treatment will go.

(This is what you learn in college)

    Good luck!

  • well, I know what's going to happen with the radioactive iodine, but I don't see the point in refraining from it until then. It's lameee :[

  • So, Iodine in your system creates (relatively speaking) thyroid hormone which you want to avoid. - "It is necessary for patients to be withdrawn from thyroid hormone in order for radioactive iodine treatment to be effective."

A low Iodine diet means more of the radioactive Iodine will be taken in by remaining thyroid cells, so if your diet contains more Iodine than there should be, less of the radioactive Iodine will actually be taken in and targeted to the remaining cells.

  • well yeah, I haven't been taking my thyroid pills.

but OOOOOOOOHHH so I don't want a lot of iodine so more thyroid tissue will absorb it? I get it.

    thankss!

  • Ya, if there's too much Iodine already present then it's basically saturated, and there's no room for MORE Iodine (the radioactive dose) to move on in and target the cells.

    No problem! Good luck

  • But definitely get more solid information from a doctor. Good luck! (You'll do great, I'm sure)

And keep exercising your voice, I want to see some more videos in the future.

  • What song is playing in the background?

  • It's a new song by All American Rejects I think...it was the radio so yeah.

  • all american rejects - the wind blows

:( I hope you get well soon so you can get a bunch of yummy foods :)

have you tried buying unsalted peanutbutter? add your own salt into it, and then add some honey and dip it with apples :D or eat it with bananas and unsalted rice cakes the one where the only ingrediant is like brown rice

  • lol I misspelled "ingredient"

  • Thanks :D

  • OMG those unsalted rice cakes are awful. It's like eating cardboard!

yeah there's this one kind of peanut butter that I can have..I think it's this organic unsalted stuff. And I don't like honey anyways :P

  • haha u can drive already?

even tho u don't like it i think u'll get used to it

and u'll get real fit haha :P

and first i've heard that with low iodine diet for thyroid removal and stuff is that u na't eat idoized salt, go ask ur doctor. If it's true then u can eat unidodized salt

    no milk tho

hmm you can still cook ur own food that anywhere else exists too just dont' use sea salt or idodized salt and it'll pretty much taste the same =] Cooking from scratch is healtheir anyways!

  • yeah, in America we can get our licenses at 16 :]]

and I used non-iodized salt, things are still relatively bland though.

  • aaaaaaaand I'd like to think I'm already fit! Haha skating and running track does a girl good.

  • oo ya actually same in canada, i forgot lul

hmm ya i think my mom buys half salt for cooking at my house too.. gotta use so much more salt to make it salty lol
