  • One of the best Bob Dylan songs!!!

  • peace won't come with tranquility and splendor to 2 people

  • saxamaphone

  • THIS IS A GREAT OPEM BECAUSE IT ENACTS A WILD, LIVING INTENSITY. AHHHH!!!!

  • Just perfect!!!

  • bodo

  • Dylan *liked* the off-cue backup girls. It's a capture-the-moment take, like Dylan often does.

  • " The cold blooded moon "

" Renegade priests and treacherous young witches "

    " Palace of mirrors "

" Angels voices whisper to the souls of previous times. "

    " Eden is Burning "

Only Dylan. Not William Blake. Not Homer. Not even the Bible. Only Dylan.

  • @MJLatora -Interesting TAKE! However - I can give you a whole bunch of Rosicrucian Humour...tying into Excellance of Scripture Understanding. The Salem Witches....in the so-called church are "beyond understanding"...they think someone else can read the bible for them...or pray for them...

  • @MJLatora Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

  • Interesting period for the Bobster. Can actually understand the lyrics. Love the play with the chorus girls. The timing/beat just BLOWs me mind. Tarot card references on top of it all.

  • am besten von alle Dylan's song!

  • I'll simply say Bob Dylan is the greatest musician ever.

  • The HATERS...are still tryin' to take Dylan down! This song sings about those haters. They hate artists, creators, The Creator, productive people, people who Love! Instead they want to control Us by FEAR, manipulation and control - as a cheap IDOLATROUS substititute for Truth and Love!

  • Pure genius. Love this man.

  • FEAST OF 7 TRUMPETS! AMEN!

  • Great song killer arrangement, instead of dissing the laddies try singing along on their cue then you'll get , Id love to be there with them doing this gem start to finish.

From an album that is solid gold

  • Underrated song, underrated album.

  • This song is too cool! It's a song, it's a poem, it's a drama, it's a message, it's a trip!

  • Wow was great to hear im again love this man he knew how to make a bad day good and a good day better

  • YES! A great song. Sing it!

  • Hey LAODICEA! Dont't you know that PHILADELPHIA is saying GOOD-BYE to YOU! (Revelation 3; Matthew 25; Ezekiel 34; 2Timothy 3).

It has been fun...and it has been real...Just not real fun! The GOATS love the wolves...HATE the SHEEP...betray The Shepherd!

  • Thanks.

  • I love this song so much, so I tried to make a lyric video to it, but when I uploaded it, it got blocked because of copyright. Any idea why they would allow this video with the exact same sound track but block mine??

Still a great vid, man, and I loooove this song.

    Thumbs up all around.

  • @RobotUnicornMadness Look at the cover, his label does not own the rights to that record.

  • Got me through some very good and very bad times, and made all the rest more memorable! I luvs me some Bob!

  • one of my favorite songs ever. you know the shit is deep when a chick gets her head shaved

  • a great song with pretty poor production. though i guess bob wouldn't have quite the same charm if he hadn't gradually lost his mind by the late 70s

  • this is my second favorite Bob tune, more need to hear this! so that music hearers realize all over again that Bob Dylan must not be skimmed over, and by skim over I mean only listening to popular albums, ha!

  • This is a great song, but the chick singers are too prominent. The song didn't need them echoing every line Dylan sings. I think the song would have been stronger if they only "repeated" one of his lines about once every three verses, not after every couplet. Street Legal was a weird album -- Bob's "pop-soul" move, with the sax, and the chick singers , etc. I like Patti Smith's cover version of this better. She gives it more of an organic-folk0-rock quality that I think serves the song better

  • Dylan's most underrated song.

  • happy birthday Bob, hope you come to Montreal soon! we are lucky to still have you around!

  • Gee Paddy, relax. I think the background singers add a great touch to this song.

  • the man can string words together like no other .a great album that neve got its due ,

  • everytime i hear this song it stays in my mind for days. Can't get enough of this man & i'm 70 years old, he's never let me down

  • @helofstorm i onwy 3 but i wove dis song too!

  • makes the hair stand up on my arms

  • "Genius" is simply not a strong enough word.

  • I heard this song today for the first time ever on a Tuscon radio station..and I came here to hear it over and over and over again. I thought it was new - how is it that I'm still 'discovering' Bob Dylan songs? He is just too brilliant for words.

  • Can't someone mix out those squalling cows?? Uber tacky. Even for the seventies. And they're not even any good! Just because he was perversely banging them didn't mean that they should have been employed to fuck up what is otherwise a very fine piece.

  • Did Y'all hear Dylan's New Cd is going to be called 'Dylan: Live From Starbucks"

  • i think it could have gone on another half an hour and still held my complete attention

  • Love this arrangement with the horns, the girls and Maestro Bob Dylan's so naturally in tune poetic lyrics, visualizations of celebrating life's positive gatherings, yes, with the music emanating from the cosmic origins of Bliss, thank you for posting,

  • Overlooked masterpiece of Mr. Dylan

  • When I was younger, I used to think this was called "16 Years" yet when I looked it up, I couldn't find anything. I asked my parents and they had no idea what I was talking about, but they realized and told me it was called "Changing of the Guards" and if they didn't I would be one piece away from full.

  • I love this album very much. I don't know why people knock it.

  • Got the full "Street Legal" album at goodwill for .50 cents :]

  • i need to listen to more bob... :)

  • pure genius

  • Some of the finest poetry of the twentieth century.

  • @spetrus God's house bandleader.

  • np! thx for listening!! :D enjoy!!! :D
