I love how most bronies display 'love and tolerance' by declaring that every gen but the 4th is shit and should have never existed. It's especially great when most of the time they even admit to not even watching them. There were instances of G1 to where it was cute and enjoyable; it started the franchise after all, but the production was fucked and the quality was inconsistent. It was so dark and wonderful... Not to mention I think that the style is really appealing. You also have to keep in mind that without G1's ponies, we wouldn't have the G4 ponies we all know and love since the mane 6 were based off of the original.

No, just no...the MAIN reason behind all the brony fandom isn't My Little Pony, it's Lauren Faust.

The first generation of MLP will never be appealing because it's GENUINELY aimed at very young girls, it has shallow characters, extremely basic plots, little or no humor, etc there's nothing more to it.

Lauren could've added her magic touch to ANY cartoon she wanted...she just happened to pick My Little Pony!
