  • they just compared tea partiers to people who torture other people to death.....

  • I think the guy on the subtitles got bored...

  • Comment removed

  • 1:28 So Aids (Click On CC)

  • Also forming negative opinions about people who are not in your group (as in thie case scenrio the audience) is yet again, another BIAS known as the ""in-group bias"" and since the people being tortured were not sitting out in the audience hence forth they were considered in a cognitive factor which has distorted perception/ judgement of those people being ""that out group"" Their shortcomings death by electrical shocks was their fault. This is a real life phenomenon called the bias.

  • The fact that there was an audience makes me to further this with yet another bias known as the fundamental attribution error in other words ""The tendency to not appreciate that others` behavior is as much constrained by events and cirsumstances as our own would be if we were in their position."

  • The reasoning objectively is apprehended and thinking is interfered by unconscious human psychologic features, when it comes to belief formation. When you come across an argument you think if you agree with it rather than if it makes sense, the idea of logic and the criteria thereof is put away like a dismissed thought

  • Like that guy said it has to do with obediance to authority (which is a bias). The girl goes on to say how she doesn`t know how this could happen heres how: Reasearch was objectively weighed and its evidence being rational, and grounded in logic. I came to the reasoning that realities and the ability to think clearly, and take information to process it accurately, is completely skewed when a bias enters the picture.

  • LOL this wasn't a game show.It was a psychological experiment on national french television to get an idea on how obidient people are when put in a inhumane situation on a tv show. The participants tought they really played the game but the electrocuted guy was an actor.Afterwards the people who had to inflict the shocks were told it was only an act as an experiment.discrediting the experiment as a violent gameshow draws the attention away from the result of the experiment and the real scare

  • In the original Milgram experiment only about 65% of study participants gave a "lethal shock" when encouraged by an authority figure. It doesn't suprise me at all that today, the number is up from the 1960's. The modern version on this game show took place in France, but I would bet everything I have that a similar game show in the US would turn up even higher results. Look at all the humiliating things that people are willing to do on reality tv.

  • Ah I love how I understand the psychology behind what they are talking about.

  • Well the thing is that society is one by committee and consensus and not a divine order or a universal morality ... there are really no rules ... we are in charge as far as we know ... this is just an example of how fragile of a foundation our whole REALITY is based

  • This is the Milgram experiment by the way

  • why is the bitch acting like she has read something in all her life

  • @gamerr21 You sound like a fucking idiot....

  • @gamerr21 ???

  • @benrein the tea party has been brainwashed by fox news. To help the corporations and the rich! They don't even know it! Buts that's all republicans do

  • It's pretty sad when the only entertainment in your life is watching people die.AND on top of it, they have that crazy rapist/cannibal. French folk, love your food, your artwork, clothing, but not your source of entertainment. I have faith that the lot of you will look down upon this.

  • est-qu'ills on commit la meutre? meowlage? cest tu justifier par un crime faite?

ca prends des boules dans la gorge.

  • Freeman, are you part of the freeman elite illumahninti families? asherrah, was a consort of BAAL,MOLOCH....UM,SATAN.(not Adonai) either you havent learned enough or youre lying. witch is it?

  • @axlecody43 if that's true how come the comman working man in the rest of the world all agree the tea partners are idiots

  • @TMNTPIZZA I can't really understand what point you are trying to make. Not all of the Tea Party activists & members are improperly educated. One horrible instance will destroy the entire face of a group of people. Look at the Islamic folk. Terrorists that radically believe anyone not a male muslim must die. So everyone associates the Islamic community to them. Those who side with the Tea Party ideals aren't all ignorant, nor are they wrong. Prejudice prevents one from seeing both sides.

  • stuuuupid girls that talk toooo fust!!

  • Who the hell is that guy on the right with that ever present look of disgust on his face?... It's like he's thinking "damn this bitch stink!"

  • None of us is as stupid as all of us.

  • Wieso sehen sich Leute so eine Show an? Das ist total krank. Es ist doch echt schlimm.! Warum machen Leute so etwas? Die Leute müssen doch verrückt sein. So was kann man doch keinem antun. Ein Mensch kann doch nicht so grausam sein für Geld über Leichen zu gehen. Das ist doch K.R.A.N.K.!!! HORROR.

  • its amazing how they bash the tea party while talking about a completely different subject. the liberal democrats are the same way. the tea party stands for the common working man. although some beliefs are extreme they have good views unlike the socialist democrats lol

  • @axlecody43 Maybe the supporters are, but the politicians are just like republicans, selling out the party to major corporations while the liberals are the only people trying to put up a fight for you.

  • @MMaeidlilniAW ?????? A politician is a politician, regardless of what you label them. Liberals do not fight for the people. Neither do conservatives. It's not lucrative enough for either side to support the people. The less power they have over the people, the less money they have funded by us, the more likely we are able to support ourselves.

  • @axlecody43 Also socialism is about equality, so how isn't that for the common man?

  • @MMaeidlilniAW Lots of ideas look splendid on paper. However, humanity is selfish in nature. Therefore, a lot of the social projects do not work perfectly for everyone.

  • This two guys miss the point of the whole documentary!!! The Documentary is about how TELEVISIOn controls the mass, NOt the Mass controlling the people! Come on guys it is nonsenses! Only the 19 participant who decided to leave the experiment were encouraged by the crow and they did not went back. And there was another group who were tested in a totally different way and they stop in the 80V shock...

Please thumbs Up, so more people can see this comment...

  • If you win you get to meet the reaper........yay

  • above 50v it kills you -.-

  • @EvilSkooma

It is actually the current that stops a heart from beating, above 5 mA.

  • I might upload that documentary on youtube someday. It's defenitely worthy of being seen. I'm not fluent in english so working on subtitles could take a while.

By the way, the actor on the electric chair is really bad. Especially when yelling "Let me out!Let me out!" he doesn't really sound desperate or really suffering. It's surprising none of the candidates noticed it.

  • Has anyone ever read The Running Man by Steven King? This sounds a lot like it....great book by the way.

  • They also did a diferent version of the same experiment, where the show host after a while would leave the contestant alone with only the audience behind them.

Without the show host as an authority pressuring, 75% of the contestants would stop the game without completing.

With the show host as an authority pushing the contestants to continue, 80 would complete the game.

I think perhaps the obedience for someone that was trusted, was more important than encouragement from an audiance.

  • MILGRAM!

    thumbs up if you dig...

  • youtube.com/watch?v=BcvSNg0HZwk

  • watched an English version recently which tested the same experiment.

  • The original documentary is fantastic - really sends you in a state of shock and makes you reflect about the awesome power that systems of authority, including the media (and governments, schools, parents, companies...), have over all of us and our minds. Most of us are truly stupid, submissive and obedient. I'm not sure there's an English version or a version with subtitles easily available though, sadly :(

  • are you sure you dont want to say "ah", "Um" or "er" again??

  • This show is based on an old experiment which had the same layout. The only difference was that it was an authoritative figure saying do this and not an audience. The results was basically the same; most people did what they were told.

It would be interesting to have this two in different countries to view how the culture creates different results. My guess? Countries like Norway or Sweden would do much better since we dont have the same aw for authoroties and are more independent.

  • Možete li vjerovati?!?!?!

  • she needs to dress a little more professionally.. kind of looks like she just came from a trip to Walmart : /

  • @firefwi Listen to what she says instead of what she looks like.

  • Actually sounds like a fun game XD good study on society

  • That's exactly how religion works.

  • There have been many other experiments that have the confirmed the original study.

  • the Stanford prison experiment also showed how authority controls someone's judgment. it's not just tv that made the people act like that, it was the roles they were given. it's the whole "game" aspect that makes you lose your humanity.

  • I think the point of the game show was to examine human emotions and psychology as opposed to cheap entertainment.

  • this just how humanity is going lower and lower. To know that just a group to have so much persuasion in saying "do it its funny" is seriously scary and shows that we are just evil corrupt people or maybe just cowardly unless in a pack....and to see how america is acting like this because of an authority figure says "they bad we heroes lets give put a cowboy boot in there ass" turns us to act like the popular teens in movies who beat up the nerd cause there just "not cool and in this crowd"

  • Miligram did his experiment because he wondered how the typical German soldier could be so cruel to Jewish prisoners in WWII. What he discovered is that there German's weren't unusual, most people will listen to authority figures. What makes this re-enactment so controversial is the aftermath of Miligrams strongly negatively affected many of the who later realized what they'd done, administering the shocks.

  • Non solo dove può arrivare la TV (che già siamo messi male), ma dove può arrivare la scienza. L'attore non ha sofferto, si può dire lo stesso dei partecipanti?

  • If the U.S. doesn't torture, then they won't be needing their manual.

    w w w scribd.com/doc/487663/CIAKubarkTorture-Manual

  • @TheRealVerbz ever heard of C.I.A?

  • @cjjtheone uuhhh... yea.. And if you follow the link, you'll see the Kubark Torture Manual from the CIA.

  • We had a show exactly like this in the States. They locked people up in solitary confinement and deprived them of sleep and psychologically messed with them then did the whole electrocution thing.

There was no audience though. The name of the show escapes me and I think it ran for only one season.

  • heh did this earlier in AS level psychology, sic.

  • It's a movie about a Tv show.

  • @ 1:35 "Encouragement can cause you to do anything"- Dumb-bitch, it's not encouragement, its authority!

Authority can erupt our killer instinct. We indeed have evil in us despite who we are.

  • Humans mostly disgust me. Milgram is simply a description of why they (you) are so disgusting.

  • Who cares? Nobody is forcing the person to go on the show and sit in the chair, so if they put their life at risk and die that's their fault.

  • @SupremePenguinTone But its fake no one dies its a psychological study

  • Most people would say they are not racist. But they would also say some of their neighbors prob are. Ironic that everyone looks at this show and thinks they would never do it. Yet, they are exactly the person who does.

  • @robotpanda77

I am racist. But then again everyone is, no matter colour or race, it's a human behaviour.

  • @freshhug

I am not racist. But it does not come naturally. I reiterate, I am not racist. However, I am not like most of our species. (your instinct is correct).

  • @1HumanKind

Well it is connected to ranking amongst humans that is connected to humans being pack-animals. So if you live alone without friends etc, with no desire to have friends, then I belive you are not a racist. Otherwise you just have to suck it up that even you are a racist.

  • @freshhug

Thanks for the advice son. I will take it for what it is worth.

Anywho...I am not racist. Now suck it up and accept that there are some Humans that have achieved what you will never achieve.

  • @1HumanKind

    Thanks for the advice son..buahaha..idiot...

  • @freshhug how many brain cells do you still have? Apart from the fact that you are generalizing(which is bad enough by itself),but saying that its a human behavior? wtf dude? You are mixing a personal belief with human nature. This is you:"Im a retard. But then again everyone is, no matter how many brain cells you got, its human behavior". Idiot.

  • @PipoBones

Generalisations is one of the most common actions we humans do, in fact all forms of life do, you are living in an illusion.

First off I am not judging everyne solely by my own standards but very much from experienses with others and informatoon and knowledge from around the world. Secondly you totally miss my point by your simple mind.

This is you: "I am living in this illusion, but everyone is, no matter how stupid I am this is what I will push."

    Fuck off imbicill.

  • @freshhug First, go back to prekinder and learn how to write and spell. Second, you are just an idiotic bigot who, judging by "very much from experienses* with others and informatoon* and knowledge from around the world", thinks that apparently since he gathers "knowledge from around the world", everything he says goes. "Fuck off imbicill*." *****

    Legend

*=This is the part when you fail at life.

  • @PipoBones

Jeez, commenting on spelling is STRAIGHT FROM PRESCHOOL, cause everyone with a brainpower beond that knows that spelling has nothing to do with intelligense and furthermore if you cant handle understanding a text with a few spelling errors you have also proven yourself to be a totall idiot.

You my dear moron is the very definition of an idiot. Now if you wanna keep bitching like the litle girl you obvioulsy are inside.. keep it coming I can turn everything you say against yourself.

  • @freshhug Listen to yourself for a second here. Spelling has nothing to do with intelligence? What are you a caveman? And i did understand every word you said Mr.Dickface. YOU "my dear moron is the very definition of an idiot." You cant even back up what you are saying and bringing stuff that doesnt have anything to do with what were talking about. And apparently you are Einsteins cousin or something you can turn everything i say against me. I feel dumb just knowing someone like you exists.

  • @freshhug And im living an illusion? so eating breakfast now is just "an illusion"? Wake up asshole. How much more contradicting can you get? "Generalisations is one of the most common actions we humans do"????I am not judging everyne solely by my own standards but very much from experienses with others and informatoon and knowledge from around the world.??? Ok. so now you judge ppl based on what other individuals have been through??? Just for saying that you should go and bury yourself.

  • @PipoBones

Haha.., you are a joke!!! I bet you are a religious zealot.., or something in that neighburhood.

  • @freshhug Fuck off asshole. Im actually criticizing religiousness here so go and suck your dick elsewhere instead of making yourself look like an idiot. Thank you.

  • @PipoBones

..yeah you got that one right -you are stupid.

  • @freshhug Such a great response really. Very mature.

  • Fake!

  • a mob is as smart as its dumbest member

  • @qcdisciple

Ah, I see your no fan of democracy, neither am I.

  • If repeated enough, people will believe anything.

  • Now you see what people do in social situations with the body/mind.

    =]

  • It's mob mentality not mob cycology.

  • Oh, Milgram.

  • The show is more strange than evil.

  • LOL, i love religious discussions. common sense tells you religion = fairy tales. There's no difference, sorry to burst your holy bubble.

  • @kray404 lol. Religion is a fairy tale. Being a believer is a whole different issue dude. Get informed right. Not everyone is like you probably think they are =)

  • it is the mob effect

a mob can act in a way that the individual never would, cuz a mob offers anonimity and shared responsibility

  • And to whoever said wikipedia is an unbiased source, not only is wikipedia biased, its also heavily unreliable. The bible isn't a very accurate religious source either. However, much like there was a man called Prince Siddartha aka the fucking BUDDHA, a man named Jesus Christo did live, you idiots. The debate on whether or not he existed or not, (like Heracles, whos a fucking GREEK MYTH) isn't the debate, its whether or not he was really the Son of God. Man, some fucking IDIOTS.

  • @Shilliwag Totally agree. Wikipedia is completely unreliable due to the fact that anyone can edit and put whatever they want. The Bible well, is an accurate source. Its just that people have come up with different interpretations for it, therefore corrupting it and making it unreliable. And yes, just like you said Jesus did live in this earth just like many other religious entities and significant entities throughout history. And like you said, the issue here is whether or he is the son of God.

  • tyler1337admin:

you have to be an idiot... The book you fucking picked up is called WESTERN HERITAGE. Jesus lived in the middle east you fucking moron.

    Shadowlit:

please stop generalizing, i don't need to read 1/2 of your comments without having to even think about how much of a biased idiot you are.

usually, I do take into consideration atheists arguments, but when I see 'atheists' just being 'atheists' for the sake of being 'atheists', it pisses the hell out of me. Do your fucking homework.

  • @Shilliwag You are definitely my friend. lol "

usually, I do take into consideration atheists arguments, but when I see 'atheists' just being 'atheists' for the sake of being 'atheists', it pisses the hell out of me. Do your fucking homework. "? BRILLIANT. Exactly what i had in mind to say =P

  • These 81% people would have been the ones who became Nazis, to support genocide. These 81% are disgusting... how could this many humans... of us... be so stupid?

  • Great insight

  • i dont really get it , if there was a war on and i was sent to bunker to give shocks then id refuse unless its someone deserving. but if i went on a gameshow with an audience id happly give a trillion volts burn the sucker to dust heh cos its a game and obviously not real, france does fall under the human rights act , they cant even do it to terrorists not alone gameshow contestants ,when the producer says its real id be like wink wink yes i know its real *wink*

  • Was this show made for North Korea by Kim Jong Il?!!! ROFL!!!!!!

  • its called peer pressure lol

  • The Milgram Experience as a TV show. That's pretty cool.

Proves once more that humans are bastards, which I always maintained.

  • nice tits

  • Coming soon to Canada & the USA courtesy of the NWO just to fuck with people kinda silly for my taste.

  • they have faith in it.

  • @PaleWhiteBoy in terms of religion no one is right. The reason why so many people have died in silly wars is because people think they can prove to one another which belief is "better" than the others. Believe what you like whether it be God, Allah, Buddah, Shiva, or Guru and people will respect you for it but dont push your beliefs on others-people will hate you for it. I respect everyone even those without religion because I know whatever they believe in,

  • "people will respect you for it" Oh no we won't. Not all of us anyway. I refuse to respect someone who believes books that are clearly entirely fabricated, provably biased and written by people attempting to control, which do damage to our society and technology, and all for a space wizard which has no evidence. No.

  • @Pinworm4 Therefore, youre an asshole. Its a belief. It doesnt have to be your belief. And yes, like you said "provably biased and written by people attempting to control", which obviously makes anyone think that you "suppose" its that way. Stop being an idiot and back up your arguments. And btw, youre sayin books are entirely fabricated? No shit sherlock. Whether or not they are fabricated or not isnt the issue. Its whether they are divinely inspired or not.

  • @PipoBones /watch?v=5hfYJsQAhl0

  • @Pinworm4 wow thats pretty much the dumbest response you couldve ever given to anyone. hwo much more immature can you get? again, you are following the crowd since Usa dude told you to reply this video to anyone dumber than you are, thinkin that you are "cool" or something. Unlike the video, i do award you something. Biggest Dimwit Ever The History Of Mankind Award.

  • @MoniqueCheema

I'm not pushing my beliefs on anyone. I repsect that people have different beliefs. Some people are arguing that Jesus never actually existed. That's pretty damn stupid.

  • The interesting FACT that has not been canvasses, here at TYT & generally, is the FACT that the 60's experiment CA NOT be reproduced scientifically because ETHICS now prohibit it. The reason? Because of the psycholigical harm it could cause the contestants! So, something is very wrong in FRance. France? I am surprised this so-call TV game was permitted.

  • Stupidity is one of the roots of all evil. The weak minded are too easily swayed by authority or majority. Want to help end suffering? The best way to start is to end stupidity. Starting by ending ignorance.

  • This test has been done before.

  • that's.. kind of the point.

  • @Pinworm4 then its retarded and so are you

  • @paronfisk I see. So, the fact that research was turned into a pop culture game which can bring to light a greater understanding of our minds to the general public is retarded, and because I pointed out that you missed the point of it, *I* am retarded? Impeccable logic.

  • @Pinworm4 Yeah, and you are gay.

  • @paronfisk I can't argue with that. You sir, have intellectually bested me.

  • Very scary how people are... Makes me think of Hitler and the people he controlled. Is it just me ?

  • Not at all.

  • @insanemoe

Yeah I read a report on the Milgram experiment and it was talking about how it could have been anyone who did the Holocaust, not just the Germans.

    Humans really are 98% sheep.

  • Is it only me or were they talking about religion?

  • Why the fuck are some of you retards commenting about Religion? gtfo mang.

  • what happened to the other douche?

  • first

  • We all have an internal compass of what is right and wrong and when we ignore it for the sake of fitting in, or because we are hurt, then we are lost.

You cannot be manipulated without pain. If we are ostracized or we are beaten, every one of us are capable of extreme behavior.

  • I usually like Young Turks, but I didn't really enjoy TyT wasting 4:38 minutes talking about something that is CLEARLY a hoax. Is there not enough real news to discuss?

  • the show is fake, everybody knows about the experiment.

  • what happened to her hair???? yikes!

  • Haha Pun UNINTENDED, but yeah. It's a little shocking...:-/

  • I guess the argument from morality for the existence of god is out with the bathwater

  • Experiment or not, am I the only one who finds this show a little shocking? :-/

  • if your paying me then fuck the stranger he doesn't give a shit about me so.......

  • Appeal to Majority. It's a fallacy.

  • if it was crocker, snuff would be worthwhile

  • Comment removed

  • I want to shock me some god damn teabagging motherfuckers so they can convert from Christian conservatism to something more HUMAN.

FUCK CONSERVATISM IN THE ASS WITH A DRY CORN COBB.

  • WOW...He hit the nail on the HEAD...that show is a great metaphor to our society....that was deep. Sad how easily influenced we as a country are

  • The actual sad thing is that IT IS NOT DEEP. Humans are twisted and dangerous beings. It doesn't take a sociology course or some study to figure it out.

  • Ana needs a sociology course.

  • where can i watch the whole show with Subtitles?

  • Its pretty derivative, all they did was copy an experiment conducted 50 years ago and we are supposed to get upset about it.

  • It's positive reinforcement from your peer/social group. I don't think it's very shocking, or overly revealing. Haven't we learned this lesson MANY times, looking back at the persecution of different groups throughout human history??

This doesn't show us anything we don't already know.

  • do they use a vhs recorder omg were in the digital age

    a digital camera is $50....seriously

  • I like Richard. He's clearly an intelligent guy, and he gives Ana the space needed to make her points. It gives the show a nice calm flow imo. I love Cenk, and wouldn't replace him with anyone. I just appreciate a different style of hosting that's all:)

Milgram and the french tv show teach us a lot. Sadly only those who manage to use it to their own benefit actually take it to heart. That's why it's not only a great depiction of the US the last ten years, but potentially every nation out there.

  • More Ana!

  • That show is fucking ridiculous. There's a reason why no IRB would ever, EVER approve Milgram's experiment in the modern day. The findings are important for our understanding of social psychology, but also terribly cruel and unrepeatable in full.

  • How so? No ones getting hurt, just getting scared, it's not like anything bad comes from realizing this.

  • @ArandurKing909 The reason why no IRB would touch it is because of the huge and obvious potential for emotional damage.

  • anyone who believes in god is automatically a moron by default

  • oui oui...oui oui

  • What ever the TV rabble want. The TV rabble will get. Let them eat cake I guess.

  • Awesome I love it when people are shown to be the bastards they truly are.

  • Awesome.

  • This show looks like a copy of a 1960s study of obedience. In the study, the subjects were also electrocuting an actor.

  • no shit dude, they say that at the start of the video lol

  • @Budge69er, Well, I did not watch the whole thing, I must have missed that

  • What your looking at is not a Milgram style experience with the parkinson suffer, your looking at a social influence situation thats investigated in Asch (1951)

  • Pfft, 280V is nothing

  • What does this have to do with the teabaggers? Oh, wait, morons who will do whatever some - indeed any - "authority" tells them to.
