I've seen SDF Macross for the first time last year. While I've seen series that had better animation, I didn't really felt anything. But then again, this is coming from someone who mostly watches anime from the 70s-90s (mostly 80s and 90s). Maybe its just because I haven't seen it as a child (even though it was on Toonami around 1998...although in a different name most are familiar with).

Because in Macross Frountier, this song, along with others, is considered a classic. In the original Macross anime, where this video is from, this song was sung in the year 2009 (yeah yeah, don't bother with the dates) while Frountier takes place fifty years after.
