I have enjoyed movies with Charlton Heston (Republican & NRA boss). Did this stop me from enjoying The Ten Commandments, Touch of Evil, Planet of The Apes, etc? No. I kept my view of politics away from the screen. Do I love Jimmy Stewart? You bet. The Duke? Absolutely. Bob Hope,I loved him, despite his neo-con philosophies. Bing Crosby...cool, a GOP all the way. There is such a thing as politically-correcting yourself into the fodder of foolishness. America communicate with me. Peace.
An awesome montage featuring the Gene Pitney hit for the movie. The song is great, as is the movie. In 1962, it was given a lukewarm reception by the critics of the time. As time has rolled on, and intelligence kicked in, the John Ford movie has become a classic. Due to some haggard legal dispute, Gene's song didn't make the cut for the film. What a pity! Excellent montage of film for this song, and if you get a chance to see the unedited film; do NOT hesitate....Pilgrims.
krysta, your quite bright. This is one of the best westerns ever made. What a cast and what direction and will anyone ever beat andy devine when he eats breakfest after cowardly no going after Liberty?
