  • These technique of kenpo is similar to japanese techniques such as shotokan (broad stances, for example).

  • looks like shit

  • lordshandor you are an ass. i think his stances and targeting is ok the only disagreement i have is that this technique is not like five swords

  • Your targeting and your stances are off.

  • "When pure knuckles meet pure flesh, that's pure karate, no matter who executes it, or what style is involved."

    -Ed Parker

His targeting and stances look effective to me.

  • You don't know what you are looking at then.

  • I have only been training for 25 years. I could easily be wrong.

  • That is usually the case.

How long have you actually been fighting?

  • I am just disappointed when I hear Kenpo practitioners (assuming you practice Kenpo) criticizing each other. There is always more than one way to execute. We used to value what worked over "the cookie cutter," but we have largely lost this.

It's too bad, and I think it's heartbreaking.

  • Reading your bio - I see that you do practice Kenpo. That's cool. I notice that you list BJJ as an interest. One of the things I love about most BJJ practitioners is their open mindedness. It's rare that they say, "You have to do it this way."

That's what I love about BJJ. I wish we were more like that. In my humble opinion we spend too much time bickering amongst ourselves, and it brings us all down.

  • Sure, let's all just hold hands and sing songs. That will accomplish a lot.

In this video I see a cookie cutter application, this is why it will not work.

  • Look deeper.

  • @LordShandor have to agree! but would add that there are some timing issues as well. But that's what growth and experience are about right?

  • yeah the chins a good place to hit first cuz you can knock him out

  • , Originally with Dave and Andy Harris( tracy stuff) then One of their students Steve Cordaro ( mixed EPAK and tracys) Now Norman Sandler Velez's student.

In between and currently I work with a friend of mine, Pete Landini under Clyde O'Bryant.

Since day one in EPAK I struggled with the differences from the tracys I had first. It's like a different language sometimes. But I keep at it.I am in NY and we dont have that many EPAK American Kenpoists here.

  • Nice Explainations. What is your lineage?

  • Thanks. I started training under Jared Emfield in Idaho Falls ID. I've trained under Tim Brod(who trained under the Florez bros.) Now I train under Bob Leonard. How about yourself?

  • Very good technique and explanations, thanks!
