  • Saying it affects the climate a lot is false. His climate sensitivity is correct but if you only stop at 1C you're ignoring feedbacks. half of the warming between 1910 and 1940 was due to solar forcing. Currently the Sun has been declining in output since 1960. This while temperatures have continued to increase. to state it is the Sun you have to ignore other things that can occur to that energy after it leaves the Sun and it goes directly against the data and measurements.

  • Oops. I did not intend to post the same comment several times. Sorry.

  • No offense to Dr. Shaviv but its not the Sun. The Sun does not significantly moderate "cosmic rays."

No. Think. Interstellar gas (star dust) is the MAJOR GCR shield throughout the universe . Stars are in gravitational association with other stars ( thus, stars move) and pass through various depths and densities of "star dust" (found in nebulae or galactic spiral arms). This dust is very thin, true. But is thousands of AU in thickness.

    Pass it on.

  • Sit back and wait for these points to be argued, rejected again and again, and finally accepted by modern climate science. It won't end until enough opposition occurs for and against less sensitive models, such as these, to the point that previously dismissive scientists are pressured into examining these claims in detail, with well-funded experiments.
