  • if he's smart, and the true count is like -4, in that situation i would hit a 16 v 6.

  • lol probably the only way to cheat is if you're the dealer, if that dealer was smart she could shuffle the deck and deal herself the high cards first.

  • 52 objects in a room with 3 stickers, pull the other one Darren. lol

  • he hit on 16 against a 6, which is suicidal even if he's counting. basic strategy has to be followed while counting cards. the only time you can take the count seriously is when you're deciding if doubling down is profitable.

  • What the hell are u people thinking? Casino is a entertainment place which is like an internet bar. It is right that the casino to take the 'fee'. If you win it, congra. but if u lose it, it's normally and of course the casino is right to ban smarter ppl, because casino is a business ni**a

  • @ManlyYip Oh please. The casino's a business. Well so am I. They're not playing to lose and neither am I. They rake in trillions and they worry about a guy who can use a bit of brain power once in a while. I guess you're right. You can't con a con artist. Theres a reason why some places consider casinos to be illegal. Because they have it set up so they win 90% of the time.

  • Not as good as the stuff in the Mindreading Exposed ebook

  • I sincerely hope this is how the world thinks card counting works.

  • fAKE NOT THERE IS THE MEMORY SHUFFLE CARDS NOT THERE IS..IM PROFESSIONAL MAGICIAN

  • @MagicianHome That comment makes absolutely no sense

  • @SkotchHD

I think he means to say that he's a magician and in his professional opinion its possible to remember who got what cards during shuffling. Especially if you remember how many cards of each type there are. In other words its possible to figure out your odds of winning.

  • @summer20105707

Actually I may be wrong here. He may be saying its not possible.

  • @MagicianHome wow. Learn the language before attempting.

  • @MagicianHome HUH???? You speaking engrish?

  • BS, you cant predict whats coming up next, you can only estimate the odds of a high or low card come up! hitting a 16 against a dealers 6 is madness, he had about 60% chance of bust right away, while the dealer with that 6 had 42,6% chance of busting.

well, could be worst, at least he didn't doubled lool

  • @SrAlmeida90 youre missing the point, he only had a 60% chance of bust with alot of high cards left in the deck. since he knows how many high cards and how many low cards are left the odds change and obviously in his favor for him to place a bet. but yes, no matter what, luck definitely comes into play. no matte what anybody thinks, even 1% odds can hit. thats why, even if u can count cards u still need alot of buying power. eventually odds even out but 1 or 2 bad calls can leave u broke

  • I wish that I could play chess such that whenever I get checkmated by my opponent, it will be ruled as cheating, just like the casinos do with players who win against them because they can play the game better than they can.

  • I want to marry Blackjack

    (bit.ly/CassandrasCasinos)

  • Ah, the top two comments are written by fools. You don't get kicked if you win. If you win big, the casino will watch your play. If you do stupid gambling decisions such as betting $1000 and hitting 16 v 6, then they will give you comps and invite you back.

They're not stupid and they know what makes them money.

  • Thats why we have 6 decks and cards are thrown in a machine after each hand which randomly spits out cards. So its not possible to count because the cards that are used in game can come back at game 2, or 3 and so one.

  • I get how he does it, but that takes some amazing memorization skills.

  • More BS card playing crap from UK. What a joke!

  • Why would they ask him to leave? What if someone was actually lucky and winning that much? Thats just stupid.

  • Even if you knew exactly how many cards, and what suits and values they are in the remaining deck, it is still extremely unlikely that hitting a stiff 16 would get a 4 or 5. Occasionally, he would bust with a 6, 7, or 8.

  • how is this technique called?

  • @EverythingForY0U card counting.

  • Ha, I am comment number 1,001. I'd just like to say that this is kinda fake because it doesn't matter if you can keep track of the cards. Knowing what's in the deck isn't going to make 4s and 5s come out when you have 16. thats just crazy.

  • @dmed312 yuh it does

  • @dmed312 He diesn't win everytime, but knowing which cards are left allows you to bet more bold, as you have the favour of knowing the odds...

  • @dmed312

No but it might influence your decision on whether or not you hit or stand. Based on numbers you might guess your odds of receving a 4 or 5 to be favorable.

  • this is what happens when you earn to much you have to leave.

  • Casinos may scam people, but we just need to band together and scam them right back!

An army of us armed with machetes could raid the vegas strip pretty easily.

  • early in the video he mentions that they use 4 decks.. does that mean that at any given time when theyre dealing the cards, that you may see 2, 3 or even 4 of the same exact card? for example, 2 king of spades or 3 jack of hearts?

  • tôll_lEútÉ_súcht_mÄl_ñÄch:_olikohle_áuf_gÒõglë_vØll_gËïl

  • @TheRealRalphWiggum In this tutorial he's exemplifying HIS method of memory retention. The point of 4 stickers is because there are 4 decks therefore 4 of each card within the shoe, 208 total cards. There are other things going on in this video though that he doesn't really explain, namely the obvious Euro No-Hole Card and how that will deviate Basic Strategy. Why is it good to remember colors/suits of cards specifically? Hi-Lo vs Red 7 vs Hi-Opt II vs Zen counting. Read up.

  • hmm where is this place why is there a picture of thai king and queen in 2:49

  • this guy is smart check out the rest of his videos

  • @TheRealRalphWiggum nah man, for black jack you gotta get 21, no matter what color it is. By him seeing what card of what suit has already been used, he's able to see what cards are left, so he has a clue of what he's gonna get.

  • It's called card counting, you can do it if you practice.

  • "you can't win a couple of thousand pounds off my table, never seen it before"

she obviously hasn't been dealing for very long

  • @gbenemy In foreign (Non-US) casinos it is a more common practice to separate dealers not only by the table game they deal but also the amount of which the min/max is set. I don't know if this is the case and thought the same thing as you but my callout is simply this, if the table max is obviously over 1000 pounds and you consider that the next "common" max limit is 2500/5000 then yeah, that dealer is on her first day (maybe) at that limit or just lieing.

  • @jackkoon You're right, it is common to seperate dealers into Premium and Mainstream gaming tables, and betting £200-£1000 pounds could easily fall into either of these categories. I'm not saying he can't count cards, or that it's not possible, i'm just saying this clip seems very "convenient", almost staged. Although the way she dealt the dealer's hand looks like she's fairly new to the game :P

Plus, what casino would use only 4 decks? that's just giving the players an even bigger edge!

  • He's a genius

  • Of course you are going to double 11... Dealer has a 5 on the table. Really a no-brainer for me atleast.

  • @m0zane

I was thinking the same thing. Conventional blackjack strategy mandates that the player double-down on 11 when the dealer is showing five. I suspect the only exception to this is a circumstance in which the player is almost certain (because of an extremely low count) that the deck is saturated with low cards.

  • @aimforcentermass In No Hole Card games it is more advisable to Hit 11's than to Double down also. Simply put, Deck Penetration is an advantage to the player and a No Hole Card game plays a similar edge towards the Casino as does burning card(s) at the beginning of a shoe. Euro-BJ is also more commonly known to have a change in dealers more than twice over the course of one shoe when the game gets good in order to burn cards while Stateside they focus on tossing you. Different Game Overseas

  • you are playing for the chance to win, not to actually win. thats why casino makes alot of money :)

  • These poker sites are lame and I know I was cheated out by some non-human program that collects my money. How is it that when I have been playing on real live webcam poker on pokerview there are no crazy fuking bad beats.

  • In Vegas they usually play with multiple decks and mix them quite often. Still BlackJack is the most favourable game, so depending on the rules (they differ) and techniques you use, the player can have a slight advantage. Usually not more than 3% though.

  • Hes not even playing Basic Strategy..

  • Rubbish, I like Monsieur Brown but this is just pathetic, He has a chance of hitting the card he needs but it's not going to happen all the time, and if you are in a less than 50/50 situation it's better to let the dealer draw to potentially bust out. If you bust out you lose even if the dealer busts behind you.

Taking a card on 16 when the dealer has a 6 is just stupid.

  • @Iain1962 And yet he won the most money at the table.

  • @TheMolt1 Well it is a TV show, it never occured to you that the whole thing is staged?

I'm sure casinos would love people to come and play and hit 16, if I was running a casino I would be wanting people to make stupid moves.

  • @TheMolt1 Simple maths what cards can improve your hand? Only an A 2 3 4 or 5, and A only gives you 17, a 2 18, and a 3 19, so only a 4 or a 5 significantly improves the hand, and even then you still might not win, there are 8 cards out of 13 you will bust out completely with and lose immediately, so would you make that bet?

If so, I'm sure you would be offered free meals and a room by the casino.

  • @Iain1962 It matters not whether the math involved is simple or complicated. This man, Derren Brown, has won money with his gift. He is fairly certain what he needs to do to attain it, and nothing you say will deter him. As for me: I am not a gambler in the first place. Know that what you say falls on deaf, disinterested [indifferent] ears.

  • @TheMolt1 Righto but you do realise that his work is to be an illusionist? You know, do magic TRICKS.

  • @Iain1962 Yes. Counting cards happens to be a very practical trick.

  • man i love this guy fucken genius

  • There is no fucking way he can remember all that shit haha.

  • @gorskitim He obviously has an incredible memory. It's uncommon, but not unheard of.

  • method of loci

  • So what they are saying it's not good because you can rip the casinos....but if the casinos rip you...it's perfectly fine...and they don't have a problem with it ...FUCK

  • @Smomolyno The casinos are a private business and are under no obligation to play fair. their house, their rules.

  • Wow. You never hit on 16 vs. dealer 6. LOL.

  • Sooo, you're only allowed to lose all your money in casinos??? They can take all your money, but you're not allowed to take theirs?

  • The thing is that gambling is supposed to be gambling, pure luck based choices. By counting cards or somehow getting some kind of unfair advantage over the casino makes it ilegal. Counting cards can raise you chances of winning a lot from 50% to around 85 to 90%. Btw casinos don't ban a one night luck guy. They only ban people if they have good reasons to think he is doing some trick. (Like winning thousands every time he gets into the casino). There is a record of your winnings in your ID

  • @icefall1793 So they take billions of your money and that's okay. But when you find a way to win (without cheating, using your brain) you get kicked out. Casinos are assholes.

  • @DavieDave59 Of course they take money out of you, how else do you think they make a living? They have to pay huge electricity bills, huge amount of money for the possible money that someone might win, they have to pay the personel. It is obvious that a casino is going to make you lose money, I mean, if they wouldn't do that they wouldn't make a casino in the first place... Also, don't think it as you losing money... think it more of a: I am paying for entertainement that might give me winnings

  • @icefall1793 I don't think you really understand the massive profit casinos make.

  • @icefall1793 Its not an unfair advantage to count cards. The only people who have that opinion are casino workers because they may feel its a threat to their jobs.Counting cards isn't tricky, its the only smart way to play unless you just like losing your money. Casinos basically want you to walk in and hand over your money to them.

  • @rimrider1964 There are simple card counting methods that just about anyone can learn. Keeping track of an entire shoe is rather more difficult.

  • @rimrider1964

You could do this without having to count at all. All he's doing is using his memory and a bit of logic. I totally agree with you. Its not cheating at all.

  • That sucks. If you play blackjack, you have to STAND?

  • Join the winning!

    Guaranteed Trial Package!

  • What a joke! If you wish to become an advantage player learn to count cards. I use the KISS III count explained by author Fred Renzey in Blackjack Bluebook II-it works! Good luck!

  • I will try this... For the moment I'm stuck at $40 a day with the ez-casino(dot)com technique...

  • casinos are fucking stupid..... if your smarter then the game you get black listed wtf is that bs lol. We can take your money but if your good enough to take ours then your banned for life, GG

  • this technique is not working in a real casino.

it would work if the 4 decks would never be shuffled untile the last one is finished. in this way keeping track of which card has already been dealt would make sense.

unfortunately the auto-shuffling machines at the casino re-shuffle all the cards (from all 4 decks) after 1,2 or 3 hands, making this system completely useless in reality. still good in tv shows to impress people who never been into a casino though.

  • @grasthube ur a total idiot. this isn't a full proof way to always win at black black. This merely increase ur chances astronomically to the point that its ridiculously unfair. The cards that that are dealt are not put back in the deck and therefore the statistics remain the same and in ur favor if u use this technique. this technique is known as the memory palace technique and is extremely effective

  • @blahblah2973 have you ever been to a european casino (no las vegas shit)?

  • Wow - that memory technique he uses is one that is utilized by many, and it DOES work... it's just weird to see it being represented visually... O_O

  • I think there are easier trick to do card counting.

  • What a crap

  • this is not legit

  • This video has made me never want to go to a casino. "Oh you're winning can you please leave." No one asks you to leave when you're losing.

  • @TheFinalGoose Heat from the Pit is different everywhere. There are many ways you can play. What this guys assumed problem is the same with how most beginning counters fail. Play too aggressive you put a marker on your head. Get into RFID Chip Tracing, Deck Control and other Pit Observation methods yeah, it's discouraging but not everyone who wins gets the boot, only those that do things like play a 1-4 unit spread then go in at 52 units outta nowhere, double down, win, then go back to 2.

  • @TheFinalGoose They do almost the same thing usually but they dont usually ask you to leave, what they do is just try to get you away from the table by offering you something like a nice room free for a week with all the free food you can eat and something like that or whatever, it's a trick to make you leave but still stay and spend your money and generate the revenue you've made back to the casino and they can only hope that your luck will run out, so the casino income is neverending.

  • He's just using another method of card counting.

  • @fr1gidity There are many counting systems that can beat the game of blackjack. I use the High/Lo counting system.

  • very few casinos operate this way anymore. Most play at least 8 decks, and burn at least 50 cards. This kills most of the advantage of counting. Any high limit table will use 8 or 16 decks and have an autoshuffler which re-shuffles all the decks every single hand.

  • While using mnemonics is an excellent memory device, it would take super dedication to train it for casino use, and in the end it sounds just like a really draining, boring job.

I think I'd rather earn money doing the 9 to 5, at least its predictable, and I get coffee breaks.

  • @P1eski

yep. working 9-5 everyday on somebody elses clock doesnt sound boring at all.

nothing like making someone else rich

  • Is this real? That looks more like my grandma's house than a casino :J

  • @tusepagliacco no, its not real. its your grandmas house.

  • Casinos play it safe by loosing small and winning big. But if you know the right tactics then you are in for the serious play.

  • casinos are the real robbers you can only go in to loose if you win you are thrown out

  • @FilipH86 correction, when your losing, they let u stay in. when your winning over four figures, they suspect you. if u win over six figures, they throw you out. and ofcourse if your winning millions, they beat you in the back room.

  • I uderstand casinos are private property and they can deny service to anyone, but its retarded that they kick out anyone who knows how to win even though its perfecctly legal and is sometimes just luck.

  • Casinos are so nice. They allow everyone to play cards. Of course except those who are good enough to win money.

  • When he doubled down on the 11... The dealer was showing a 5... why would u contemplate that, that's an instant double down.

  • @beeryce88

    unless u have over 11

  • @titanicsearch

what are you talking about? He had a 6-5.., Dealer was showing a 5, that's a double down no matter what. Doesn't matter what kind of strategy you're playing, basic or this "scamming" strategy that he's trying to pull of... You get an 11 against a 5 or a 6.. You double, because 5 and 6's are the likely bust cards, and no matter what you get after you hit on 11, you're not going to hit again, guaranteed... And you're the odds on favorite.. So why did he contemplate doubling there?

  • he talks so much crap .. having his own room or some crap. .. he is just doing the +1 0 -1 style and when you have eleven and know the remaining cards are gna be tens then you double and you win etc etc. .. not a big deal but interesting to see.

  • Comment removed

  • @Naser0east0side The room memory technique he described is very popular and powerful. Look it up. He's telling the truth.

  • still had about 3 or 5 decks left 150 to 300 cards left, it's impossible to know that the next card will definately be a 4 or 5. the only change is probability.....

    weird guy

  • Absolutely Genius

  • The Mentalist. :D

  • Derren Brown is a maniupilator. This was in a controlled envoirnment. Plus many casinos use more than 4 decks. Counting 8 decks is very difficult. He is fooling everyone that watches his episodes. Hes good as what he does. Hes smart and knows enough about the human mind to fool everyone involved and everyone watching the program.

  • Mansion.com : It's Tottenham Hotspur - not Hotspurs

    some sponsor

  • do they ask me to leave when they win alot of my money! fuk the casinos

  • this guys a lier he's card counting .....mind tricks my ass

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus wait i dont get it. The human mind is more incredible then the human mind can imagine?

  • bullshit, fake and gay..

  • chuck norris takes it up his ass from von dame

  • <----- Want to play like Derren Brown...

  • fucking casinos they are scamming people, in there you can only play to loose and when you win your a suspect and you will be thrown out

  • @FilipH86 dude that is 100% true what u said...this old guy i know. he used to win like 20 thousand a week gambling cause he was like a pro at blackjack..so he goes to asia and europe to gamble cause hes banned from the US casinos..so yea i agree with u

  • this video is a crock of shit. the dealer and the other witnesses keep saying "he kept getting the perfect card, it was unbelievable."

card counting doesn't affect what card you get in the slightest bit - the only thing that it would change is your probability of getting certain valued cards and your betting. you don't manipulate the deck to "help you get a 5 on 16"

  • @mypetmeatball meaning...even if when you count cards you still lose a lot of hands. there isn't a card counting system in the world that will help you win a good portion of hands. you win by betting when the count is in your favor - you still lose about half of your hands.

  • @mypetmeatball However, the players might not understand that. Therefore, they might assume that something would HAVE to be rigged.

  • @mypetmeatball i agree, PERFECT card counting definitely won't get you a 16 every round. the advantage is in his favour but hardly at all.

if this isn't staged then he was obviously very lucky, the odds definitely WERE NOT stacked in his favour.

  • This is exactly how Patrick Jane explained it in "The Mentalist" . He calls it a "memory castle".

  • This man has one of the most brilliant minds. His memory and showmanship are superior

  • hes an IDIOT. he just hit a 16 against a 6.

  • @Manfredl how is that being an idiot if you know you reg oin got get 21 ? or 20 ?

  • @Manfredl but he did save most of the table or the dealer would of had 19 lol

  • Come on, he' s just counting cards and if If he's actually using the techique he descibed, then he's a learn-by-heart genius, but stupid :p

  • how dumb can this be seriously instead of memorizing the inventory of a house just use HI-LO!!!!

  • That's his specific trick that he developed when he was a kid. Other counters may use other methods. His way works for him and he was just giving us a taste of his thought process.

  • do any of you guys actually do this?

  • this is just rubish .... i work in a casino and NOBODY will take you out if you wining money!!!

  • what happen if you find out he is card counting?

  • nothing... they usually then just tell the dealer to cut more card's on the begining of the game so they lower his count accuracy... so basicly he can't relly on his count tactic so well...

  • i tried card count but i cant l0ls its so hard -.- do you know how to do perfect shuffle?

  • first of all to count u need to practise... experience dealer will deal card's very fast.... i'm very fast(still didn't saw faster) so it is very hard if there is more players to even count them, but u still can if you exercise at home... about shuffling it is little difficul to explain.. U have more tactics of suffiling the card's.... But exercise the count buy pulling cards faster and faster... :D

  • Comment removed

  • if they can tell you're counting cards, they have the authority to kick you out

  • i didn't have or heard about that situation .... maybe in some casinos, but only if it is policy of that casino and player is aware of that...

  • They could kick out the President is they wanted to.

  • Well it's a private institution, they can ask anyone to leave for any reason.

  • @ltylcz It depends where you are actually. In many places it's actually illegal for casinos to kick you out for counting. But there's an easy way around it. Shuffling the deck every few turns is the best bet, and that's what most casinos do, I believe. Or using two sets of decks, and one being shuffled while the other one is in use, to make sure the game continues smoothly.

  • simple

  • I use rooms to remember notes like this too..works well with music theory

  • very interesting way to think about the inside of your mind

  • using ur brain in any way cannot be illegal...its only illegal if u use a card counting machine, thats a crime......the worst a casino can do if they think u r counting cards is to ban u and plug u into a database

  • Comment removed

  • then you buy a mustache and come back :)

  • LOL

  • So casino rules is that they don't want you to have situational awareness, and to just throw money on the table, that is ridiculously stupid. even novice players count cards subconsciously. Counting cards is thinking you have a chance at winning, cheating is knowing you have odds in your favor. the casino only wants odds in their favor so don't cheat, don't count and throw your money away.lol

  • wow, I found the info that this great man (sure I thing he is great, really) is homosexual. Just read on Wikipedia...

    anyway, he is the one!

  • How does counting cards work if they re-shuffle a new deck every time?

  • start to count all over :)

    start at 0 again

  • the way he keeps track of cards seems so much harder then keeping the count like most card counters do.

  • thets illegal only if them bust you

  • @kerber63 Thank you for your very pr
