My point was though these 2000- newer trucks are as togh as nails as far as drivetrain goes. We all know the same cannot be said about body pannels interior ect. Chevrolet 1/2 ton best fuel economy over Ford Dodge & Toyota. Chevrolet trucks have 100,000 mile warranty with a 403hp 6.2L towing capacity is 10,700lbs it also has a locker. Dodge Ram 1500 390hp towing is rated @ 10,450lbs. 20mpg Dodge also has a100,000mi warranty.

Toyota 5.7L 381hp Gas Guzzler I had one so I know. I looked at their website and they really seem to fear Chevrolet in the specs part of the site. But have you worked for Nissan and learnt their pros and cons? At the end of the day nearly everything you need to know can be seen on paper and with a 10 minute test drive. Toyotas may cost more but theyll go the distance, their engines last so long, they really are tough cars. Nissans are good too but they definitely arent as heavy duty as the Toyotas. Nissan's suspension and undercarriage fall apart much easier and will not be good for nearly as many miles as the Toyota

Chevrolet and Ford decided to mass produce their cars, lowering the standards of longevity of their engine... I have alway's been an import fan but I think the u.s. automakers have made huge strides with thier reliability issues because of the competition. I think you can buy a 2008 ford with the confidence that it will last you a long time but I still love my s2000 and my nissan xterra.
