I am trying to learn Hebrew and it's not as hard as I thought it would be, and your lesson is great, but I think for Hebrew beginners, like me, it's really difficult to learn it in comparison with another language I don't know, like Arabic... so it would have been great if you did this alpabeth lesson without comparison too :)
I'm learning hebrew at the moment. Want to learn the arabic language after that. At the moment I'm writing everything in latin letters but I hope to make the switch sooner or later. So from what I can say now: toda marat maha!
many palestinians know this "language" better than zionist squatters in palestine. but their mastery of "hebrew" is not of avail for them, on the contrary, when they come to a "check point" with zionazi soldiers who origin from (for example) the former soviet union who are less fluent in "hebrew"...(zionists always fight their internal rivalry at the expenses of the "goyim", especially the palestinians)
Thank you for the lovely tutorial. I am learning and am slowly teaching my 3 young daughters. Please continue spreading your knowledge. I truly do appreciated it! I will recommend your videos to my sister. She has begun learning Arabic.
She's so beautiful.. i live in Brazil and i can say by far that jewish/arab women are a gift from the heavens. No Brazilian girl strike me like the way arab women do.
Seriously, look at her eyes, it's like a sea of delight. Amazing
@sharaaby Would you stop talking non senses! The has been recent studies that shows that more muslim arabs are descendants of the phonecians. By the way, Most levantine "arabs" are not really arab, but arabised people. before the arrival of islam they were eithter pagans, christians, or Jews. So stop your silly propaganda.
I am a beginner. This video was fun. I enjoyed the example "khatul" / cat, in Spanish "gato". Your teaching style makes for a pleasant learning experience. Chukran kathir! :-)
can u teach ancient hebrew wiht out voul points or the v and al that added stuff just pure original hebrew cause things have been changed to hide things and make things get lost
i like your video , i am a persian ( Iranian ) and i find from your lessons that Hebrew alphabet is more similar to Farsi to compare with Arabic , i love to learn Hebrew . good job and keep it up
@hnnuny Yeah, it's nice that it is. I'm learning Amharic, Hebrew, and Arabic, and it's so nice that they are all semetic languages. If you look hard enough, you can find connections between a good percentage of languages. I think its beautiful.
I am Kurd from Syria , speaking diffrent languages( Kurdish, Arabic, Norwegian, German, English, and middle level in Spanish and Turkish). I am intending an italian language, and from today I will teach my selv hebrew. It is amazing that they are so much similar words berween hebrew and Arabic and it will for sure help me heheh- Thank you very much, I enjoyed too much listning to you explanation... in addition u are very sweet gir ;)
Shalom 'Alaykhem, w'Salaam 'Alaykum. Your explanation of modern Israeli Hebrew is excellent! I enjoy your videos very much. I've uploaded a response that explains how Hebrew was originally spoken before Jews were exiled from Judea and 'lost' many of the original semitic sounds. The ancient pronunciation is the proper way to speak Hebrew, and more and more people in Israel are learning it.
What your teaching is modern day Hebrew but there are still many Jews today who still pronounce it very much like Arabic (i.e. Yemeni Jews, some Spanish Jews, and others that I'm still investigating)
Two more point after viewing the whole thing. First, there are not capital letters in Heberw. There's Dfoos and Ktav. Ktav being the way you write by hand and Dfoos everything else. Second point. You mentioned that 7et is mispronounced in modern Hebrew. That is of course true. However, you didn't say the same thing about Tet, which correct pronunciation in modern Hebrew is much rarer. That is the reason why English T is transliterated to Tet rather than Tav.
@tFighterPilot I agree with you there are no Capitals in Hebrew but there are letters written in the Torah that are larger or smaller but this is fo other reasons.
I am learning Japanese now but can I learn Hebrew too? I don't know one i pick Hebrew or Korean. What I should i pick as my 2nd And can I speak both a same time. Theres not alot of Japanese people around here and I want to speak Japanese fast im learning slow. you think I learn Hebrew fast? I want to learn all words in Japanese like 100%. You think I learn Hebrew faster?
@MrAki3461 Master the alphabets of both if it isnt too much on you! I learned the Korean alphabet and now I'm on Hebrew because just like you, I couldnt decide! My first two languages are English and Spanish, then I learned Mandarin and started on Korean. Sorry, I know you werent really asking me but I just thought maybe I would add my opinion.
Salam Maha, I love the way you teach Hebrew...By the way, I wanted to say that Bouquet is a french word and we say "Bouquet" in English too ;) Bonne Continuation :)
I very very much appreciate this straightforward, easy to understand, video! You give very clear pronunciation, history, and comparisons....all of which are so helpful! I agree with @alsameeg, you should change your name to that! :) You should create your own hardcopy textbooks, because I think that you know how to teach!
Just a question....if you know hebrew, arabic, and english, where did you grow up? I would love to learn hebrew and arabic.
I just wanted to say thank you. I leave for Israel on tomorrow and your videos helped me more than any other videos. I just noticed that you have arabic lessons too. I will take your arabic classes when I come back. Shokran... I mean TODA!
I just moved to Elsternwick, which is Melbourne, Australia's version of Tel Aviv. A vibrant Jewish community. And this is just going to come in so handy, not only learning the language, but finally understanding what all the signs say! Bless you Maha, You're the best! Greetings from Australia. Juan.
Can you please do a video of how to make the ט sound? It's hard for me to do and I'm not sure if I'm getting it right or not. Is it kind of like making English T, G, and and L sounds all at the same time?? Thanks, Maha!! Love your videos!!
greetings from a syrian-spanish girl :D I would like to visit Palestine someday so learning hebrew will help me dealing with soldiers in checkpoints...
i m planning to live in israel for a couple of years (or maybe just one ;-). can you do a programme on israeli slang? for example like the english words: hang, chill, cool, whazup, etc.
