  • The last shot could be shot much easier.

No need to mark a point - just focus on an object and pull / slide the camera away - then reverse the footage on your editor later.

Ridley Scott used that trick in the first Aliens movie - the face hugger isn't really "jumping" at Kane - Ridley's crew is pulling it off.

    Take care.

  • Nice, this was really useful, especially refreshing my head on the lingo! Subscribed Olivia!

  • Hi Olivia, Just got my konova slider today. Thans for sharing your tips.

Did you shoot at 60fps and slow it down to 24fps in post? It's not easy getting perfect slides with my hands.

    Your shots were very smooth.

  • I'm so sorry, but you are so confident and beautiful. Also thanks so much for the tutorial and I appreciate the work that you do as I am a 2 yr photographer, but would also like to get into movies

  • Hey Olivia - ah very cool. I think I am going to get one of those. If it's available on Amazon, you should use your affiliate link for it inside your description area :) Thanks for the great vid! Are you going to Blog World Expo?

  • my videos get motion blur..what settings are best to shot in pal mode

  • if i do more video, i definitely want to pickup either a merlin or a slider depending on how often i shoot. the slider would probably come first due to the simple/effectiveness of the system than the merlin for more advanced stuff. "still + motion" really launched portable video to what it is today.

  • Heads up, you refer to the lens as a Tokina at the beginning and then call it a Tamron at the end.

  • @ryleechris no such thing as the tokina 17-50mm exists. Thus you can safely assume that she mean't tamron.

  • @xxbluejay21 i think its tamron 17-50 not tokina

  • Very good, I like the example shots and the fact that you included at the end how you did those shots that is an excellent technique of instruction.
