  • I get about three of these in a month, I am always selling them as soon as I get them.

  • is swapping in the 3.0 block a hard job requires modding block ?

  • how is the wiring holding up?

  • the fans are really loud on contours and mystiques

  • @mystiqueman366 only at start up.

  • 225 whp? not likely, maybe SAE net horsepower off the crankshaft with a retuned ECU. but that is NOT at the wheels. unless he has a dyno slip to prove it, i call bullshit.

  • Stock engine and ecu its bullshit for sure..but with a hybrid 3l or full 3l it can put down easy 210-215whp just need a dyno session and no exhaut or any kind of mod else is needed to help the flow.(the 3l swap put out 200whp with no tune stock exhaust etc.. and the best 3l swap i see is puttin down 265hp at crank and around 225whp with a nice exhaust kit and run 13.4 in quarter not sure if he have silck anyway you can see that this can smoke a couple of v8 and 4bagner wit turbo or supercharg.

  • WONDERFUL CONTOUR, REGGARDS ¡¡¡¡¡

  • all stock and a shithead who knows nothing about contours...ya if your contour can do all that then mine can beat a porsche boxster.

  • does this car share the same motor as probe klde?

  • @jdmmazda626 No.

  • no way its 225 you still have stock intake

  • I have 2 csvt's and TRUST me, you dont wanna tubro that 2.5L.. The 2.5L has an oil starvation problem from deleting 2 oil returns when the engines were made. Thats why everyone is swaping 2001+ hybrid 3.0L Just trying to save you the pain and cash.

  • sounds and looks stock to me

  • that thing sounds MEAN, but I agree with CBranchy, 400 hp does sound excessive for the duratec, you probably have to build up the motor a lot to handle the extra power. I'm not knocking the idea, because I've seen a few csvt's put down 300+ with worked internals and a turbo.

  • 400hp is not excessive for the ENGINE, i've actually seen quite a few C-SVT's with turbo'd 3.0 Duratec's pushing 400whp on a completely stock bottom end! It's a very well engineered engine, but the only problem is getting the power to the ground... it just becomes a burn out monster.

the car as is sounds extremely good though! what have you done to achieve 225?

  • very clean svt. i do have one myself. what did u do to get 225whp? in stock form, they only have about 165-170whp.

  • 2000s made almost 200hp stock.

  • which is at the crank. at the wheels, as stated, your looking at 165-170 WHEEL HORSEPOWER

  • 190hp if its a contour svt i dont see 225? i looks all stock

  • @geejay4ever actually the 1998 SVT Contour has 195, and the 1999 on up has 200 horse stock. The plain non-SVT 6 cylinder Contours have 165 to 170. Just an fyi.

  • @Danijelly True. I know that as well. Look at my previous post. i said "W hp". The figures u stated are @ the crank.

  • @geejay4ever Good machine work, exhaust, intake, and i believe you use the 2.5 liter head with a 3.0 block from a Taurus (increases compression ration) and a nice tune.

  • god i love these cars! but i think 400hp is a little excessive for these. those front wheels don't grip for shit dude. i wanted to built a C-SVT for years now but i've finally decided its not worth it. If i can find a cheap one, i'll buy it for a DD, but you gotta upgrade wayy too much stuff to make em handle high power. good luck with the project, i'd love to see it when its done.
