  • @tcurtiswag As can I, but I have the wrong embaucher for sax and clarinet because I play the oboe.

  • Awesome

  • wow, that was awesome!!

  • The oboe is the hardest instrument in the orchestra to learn if you are going from clarinet to oboe you will need to give up clarinet altogether because playing both will stuff up your embaucher -- not sure how you spell it but the way you hold your mouth

  • @batzn08 I disagree. I've played oboe and clarinet (switching back and forth) for two years, and I've had no problem with embrochure. I've had trials on the oboe as well as the clarinet, mainly tuning on the oboe, and just a few little blips on the clarinet side of things, but usually I have no trouble switching back and forth.

  • @batzn08 i have a degree in clarinet and a degree in oboe. i think you're wrong. sorry :/

  • Love the invisible piano player' also you are great too.

  • Raisa's house? :D

She used to be my piano teacher!

  • Which one is harder to play, clarinet or obe. I play the clarinet, and I'm extremely good at it but I love the sound of the Oboe and want to chage.

  • pleeaze do not post this kind of bad playing

  • ok so i play oboe and i am having problems with my low notes they sound like static! your great so i can i fix it??

  • @shootthebreeze09 Well I'm not an expert at fixing oboes and everything since I've only played a couple of years lol, but it could be your reed, the way you put your instrument together, not having the right fingereings, or your instrument could just be broken...

Try looking at your finger's positions. Sometimes if they aren't coveing the holes on the keys the sound won't come out.

If you have no clue what's wrong you can take it to the music shop and they'll look at it.

    Hope I could help :D

  • @shootthebreeze09 Obviously I'm not oboenet121, but i have been playing the oboe for 8 years. What you want to do is really open the back of your throat and lower your jaw to not bite the reed and constrict the air and vibration. Plus, have good breath support. Also, make sure that you have the correct strength of reed, and if you have a teacher and s/he makes them for you, make sure they are scraping the upper corners of the reed well, which effects how the low notes come out.

  • Veryy nice! i like it!

  • I LOVE it~~ May i have that oboe music sheet??

    i played oboe too~

  • Yo Oboenet, that was super! --Niko

  • you are so freakin good. iplay basson, i luv oboe :)

  • Hombros, embocadura, presión, columna de aire, vibrato, apoyo, digitación e interpretación. A estudiar

  • very good! (y)

  • OLE!!

  • Very nice!!! Keep it up!

  • if you played clarinet than im pretty sure you can play bass clarinet

  • Good Job! i played the Oboe for 7 years, though out Middle School and High School. Not bad at all for only playing for about a year. And yes, as said before, just work on circular breathing and tapering the phrases. :D Splendid.

  • super

  • now you just have to work on circular breathing - and tapering the phrases:)

  • I like your username, "Oboenet121" Its kinda like the nickname my friend gave me when I switched to oboe... its "Claroboe"

  • Cool!!! I'm starting oboe and I've played claranet for about a year and 3/4 and yea I hope I can get that good I'll be first and last chair =D heh I'm the best of the horrible but our whole band is good and rather big...

  • gorgeous :D

  • ich finede es einfach klasse wie der spielt bin ein nachwuchs oboenspieler und bin 12

  • hey does anyone have piano sheet music for this? i need my friend for accompaniment xD

  • too good 5/5

  • hey! ur good!

  • The note at 0:30 was a bit out of tune (I'm guessing it's B flat). I have the same problems on the higher octave. What kind of oboe is that? I'm in the process of deciding what kind of pro oboe I eventually want to buy.

  • I also think you let the last trill get too out of control. But awesome job. Nice tone for everything else. To be playing music this level only after playing the oboe for as short a time as you have is astounding.

  • if yove only been studying oboe for a year thats all this is a complicated piece it sounded pretty good

  • solo llevas un año???? increible , eres un genio (fuera coña)

  • I'd be surpised if didn't play another woodwind before oboe, as a lot of people get switched from clarinet to oboe. I was switched from saxophone to bassoon my freshman year of high school. I also play clarinet, flute and oboe.

  • That's good. But don't hold your oboe like a clarinet. The sound isn't enough projected (I'm not sure it's the good word sorry i'm french ^^). Try to traduce the following sentences :

Tu pinces trop ton anche et ton son ne peut pas être correctement projeté. Tu dois détendre tes lèvres et penser à la forme d'un "O" quand tu souffles. Et surtout, respire profondément, ton inspiration doit venir du plus bas que tu puisses.

  • Doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Very good. I am not saying that becuase you have been playing for a year and a half. That does not matter. If you were to get a recording career or auditioned for an orchestra, you would be up against those who have been playing for 30 years. It does not matter how long you have been playing... Also watch rythms i can tell that you listened to a recording becuase there were parts in there that were played wrong but the oboe player added that in...

  • dang only a year and a half... ur really good...

  • plz what the peace name

this is the 1st year i study oboe

    plz replay

  • Mozart's Concerto for Oboe in C Maj.

  • WOW ur amazing

  • wow a year and a half. ahh. you are better than me haha.

  • Shifty eyes.. ;) But excellent playing!

  • Very very nice. And you're too cute xD.

Don't worry too much about the reed. Just play where you feel most comfortable. I mean most German players play almost to the strings and their oboes high in the air but they still sound great.

It's really just preference. Just play where you feel most comfortable.

  • what a sweet guy!!!

  • oboe is one of the hardest innstruments so good job for you!!! ^_^

  • Congratulations! This piece is breathtaking (almost literally) and you play it very well! I like the scared face at the end =)

  • Nice job. You should post the other movements. You have really clear tone. Well done.

  • I am in love with you!

  • nice playing i have been playing for about 2 yrs. and im good, but not as good as him..that shows a lot. but he also i grown

  • Wow you're amazing, where did you find the music for Moxart's oboe concerto I've been dying to play it

  • wow your really good!!! i have been playing the oboe for over a year and i cant play that so good job!!

  • dude! i just started playing oboe! like seriouslly today. thats awesome! i played clarinet for about 5-6 months and i thought i was okay at it..but my director put my on an oboe! lols it's really hard and i'm amazed that u can do that in just over a year

  • Maybe a little more emotion and feeling and movement.. but overall really good...and like i responded to jongoodyear, you need to pull back on the reed a little more. and that's prob. why the note shifted at 2:30. that scared the crap outta me! lol. But good job for a year and a half. Really making progress. :)

  • a year and a half? wow.

  • Красавец)

  • AWESOME! YOU DID AN EXCELLENT JOB!

  • i LOVE the oboe (its not the instrument i play in band though, i play bass clarinet) but in my freetime i play the oboe, and its AWSOME!!!

  • dued u r amazing!! especially for only playing a year and a half, but that jongoodyear dude irs right about the reed thing.. it really does help

  • i play bassoon. oboe and bassoon are like bros lol!

  • Dude, i am so on your side. I played clarinet when i started and then switched to mallet percussion, but i really like the sound of an oboe, especially thing song. I'm probably gonna start oboe when I have the closest chance.

  • That was really good, from a fellow oboist. What horn do you play on?

  • very good but i think ud have better tone if you went back on the reed trust me

it did me alot of good

  • I agree ..It seems as if he's coming right up onto the staple. I think it's still really good tone for just a year and a half. :)

  • very nice man

  • oboe rocks!!! i luv it, ur a natural, you should just switch to oboe!!!! i'm playing it and it rocks!!!!! :DDDD

  • aah... beautiful song :)

  • eres patetico daaaa jaja no es cierto

no pues si eres muy bueno sigue asi sbs

  • awesome!!!! you play crazy xD

  • Are you sure your clarinet wasn't another oboe: you can't even write it correctly!

  • Dude, you can't play like that after a year and half!

  • very nicely done

  • Only a year and a half?!?!?! Are you joking, that is amazing! Beautiful tone for a year and a half!

  • some VERY nice moments in there :) You're a natural for sure

  • Very nice! I too am a clarinetist who has become an oboist and love it!!!! Keep it up!

  • I am about to become one. I'm starting the oboe on Thursday :)

  • wow only a year?!

  • This concerto is one of my favorites and despite what everyone else seems to think, I'd say that it looks like you put a lot of work into this. Nice job for a one year oboist! Please also give a huuge high five to your pianist. :)

  • dude its too choppy; as a clarinet player u should know about tapering the notes, u need to do it 50 times more on oboe than on clarinet

  • Bravo!

  • Very good for your time limit!

  • his sound is nice for only a year, but your vibrato was funky man

  • i have been playing clarinet for almost seven years years and have began oboe. nice sound. i know the transistion is hard! some of the fingerings are the same with a mix of flute. nice sound! :)

  • roflol, you look all tight in your outfit and your playing oboe.. no offence, i just thinks thats funny.

  • I'm 13. I have been playing Oboe since February last year. Skipped grade 1 and did Grade 2 Oboe in the Summer and got distinction. I don't know how I achieved it as it is such a hard instrument and the breathing is opposite to other instruments :). I hope to do my Grade 3 next month

  • you sound amazing for someone who has only played a year and a half. i'm a student who has played that long, but i'm not as good. :/

    keep it up though!

  • good

  • i just started the oboe yesterday and its HARD. i can't wait until the day i can play like you!! :)

  • Where can i get the music sheets for this?

  • Excellent :D

  • bravo, well done

  • oboe is a very hard instrument...i play it in band...and meny people say it sounds like a duck but its not even close to sounding like one...you did a great job!

  • yea.. i have no idea why they say it sounds like a duck...

  • It sounds like a duck if it's a bad oboe, or a bad player :P

  • Lovely! I think you did well. I can readily tell that you _know_ what you are trying to play and that any wants in the result shall resolve themselves with more experience and practice. I will say this: I've played the recorder for less than a year, but that is a statement of how long I have possessed the instrument and not how many hours I've practiced--if your habits are anything at all like mine then I can say you've come along admirably.

  • okayyy:) if you started to get hurt bie what a few of us oboists(sp?) say, it's because we're critiqing you:) this negative isn't negative at all!! it's positve! it's to help you get better

  • but you did amaizzing:) good job:) oboe is a very hard instrument(or so i am told) i know this piece is very hard i can tell:) im working on one right now and it's way too frustrating:) keep up the good work:)

  • yes, i totally agree with ensuku. I have playing oboe for a shorter time than him... it sound like he's really struggeling:)

  • I play for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Symphony and only playing for a short time you play this extremely well!! On your trill at the end though it was kind of ow.. my ears.. but i remember when i first started playing the oboe i remember i played like that so don't feel bad. Awesome!!!!!

  • That's really great! I mean, one can hear very clearly that you haven't played that long, but still great job! I have been playing the oboe for nearly 8 years now.One advice: I think you should hold the instrument a little bit higher. There you can see that you play the clarinet :D

I would be very interesting to try to play clarinet for a year... It shouldn't be that hard... ;)

  • I play Oboe for New York Philharmonic Orchestra....you play this song VERY WELL to say that you have only been playing for 1 and a half years...One tip..take some of that reed out of your mouth...You really dont need to put that much in to play....Other than that excellent job.

  • amazing!

i play oboe but i am juat starting

  • amazing- i'm playing for 3 years now and you're fantastic! Oboe is an extremely hard instrument. It's either played beautifully or horribly and you play it very beautifully. Good job!

  • Very well done! WOW, that would be cool to play like that. You should get into an orchastra and get paid for it!

  • THAT IS SO COOL!!i play oboe but im a beginer...:P

  • That was cool. I play double bass and cello. :(

  • u r great at oboe... i switched from sax to oboe cuz of u thx SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH

  • You are an extreme inspiration to me! I have had my oboe for about a month and I love it to death but I thought that I'd never be able to learn it well. But you have instilled some hope in me and I hope that maybe with lots of practicing and perseverence, I might be able to play somewhere near you^^ Great Job and keep up the hard work :D

  • ...only for information i'm an oboist a i play in many orchestra...i understen when the sound is great and i have a lot of experience about this subject...please don't say mistakes...

  • well excuse me to all of the people leaving mean comments. the oboe is a very hard instrument to be even slightly good at and for playing for a year and a half that is really well going. congrats dude and keep going cause u'll be a very nice oboist. =D

  • This is the song I'm currently working on. You did wonderfully. I understand how frustrating those first few phrases are...

  • And to all of you commenters who claim that this is not the way the oboe is supposed to sound your wrong. This guy has got great tone and articulation and i wouldn't be surprised if he were a teacher or in a symphony.

  • Well, let's make some things straight... I mean, I'm not really into exagerating and especially not into exagerated praise. I mean, he is relly good for having played for only so little time, and I don't claim that I couild do the same with clarinet (I've been playing oboe for 7,5 years), but it's nothing impossible. I mean you can really hear that he is certainly no professional. If I hadn't read the information I would have thought he were someone who had tried to play a little too hard piece.

  • Nice dude.

  • i think all the people who left horrible comments on here...you should keep them to your self... like you (the bad commenters) could do better

  • you are gay

  • who cares...if he likes that instrument he can play it and you have no say

  • wow!

lol i've only been playing oboe for like 3 weeks xD

  • I think you are horribly mistaken. I started on saxophone, switched to clarinet, and then to oboe and I have to say these comments really upset me. Oboists should be excited to see people exploring their instrument. I have only had people say nice things to me about my playing and it has a lot of problems (go see one of my videos). I think that for someone who is just switching to oboe he sounds Great! Music is an art, not a game. Leave your horrid comments to yourself.

  • thank you. the guy above you is kind of a jerk.

  • one year? wow................. wow.

  • I play the sax, and clarinet, and I'm learning oboe for my college's Woodwind Quintet. I'm pretty psyched.

You have such an amazing tone on the oboe. Almost all oboists I've heard have a horrible out of tune sound on the oboe.

I hope I can do as well as you!

  • I as well play oboe...and clarinet. Let me tell you that you are amazingly talented at this instrument.

  • que pulmones

  • You are talented. Your music is beautiful.

  • How many different notes are there in the piece, because i've only learnt 14 notes in half a year.

  • Respekt! 5 *****

  • holy crap! and i thought that i did good for only 5 months of playing. of course, i'm not sure of how my sound would be after a year and a half. i stopped and am now playing bassoon this year in band, but only for concert. i play flute for marching

  • nicely done. Ive only been playing for about 6 months and Im no where near how good you are (even with a private teacher XD)

  • lord get a tuner and stop biteing the reed you suport the reed with air your lips should hardly put and presure on the reed......

  • i still think it's good. i'm worse at tuning

  • you play really good for someone who's only been playing for a year and a half. i play oboe and clarinet too.

  • Beautiful...as the others are pointing, just refine the faster passages (Perhaps, by slowing them down so you get a better feel when playing up to tempo).

Just started playing Oboe 1 month ago and I think I am ready for Mozart Concerto. I have been playing Bassoon for 1 year and have already performed Mozart Concerto.

Can someone hook me up with a copy of Mozart Oboe please?

  • this is cool, i was like u i guess. i played the sax for four years and then picked up the clarinet and flute and learned how to finger them and i played em just as good as the sax. good job

  • I wish I were one of those people who could pick up anything and play it.

  • Good job! Like you, I doubled on the oboe after playing another instrument, flute, for many years. My orchestra teacher was probably not far off in saying that the oboe and violin are two of the hardest instruments to play well.

  • nice i just got an oboe from my school today could you maybe message me some tips on how to play oboe. thanks

  • thats frikin awesome

  • hey not bad!^^

  • not bad, just work on making it more refined.

  • awesome the oboe is so hard

  • whoah...sour note at :30...but keep it up with the practicing and all!

  • Sounds good! Keep up the good work. I would suggest not moving so much. You can concentrate better on the music if you stay still. Also, practice with a tuner. It is a bit sharp. You will have better control and embouchure will change when you play with better pitch. Good Luck!

  • yeah can u give me tips too cuz i will be playing oboe and since u are like amazingly good i figured u could

  • nice tone I'm an amature oboe player if you have any tips PLEASE I'D appreciate it sooo much

  • omg u are amazing i mean yeah everybody has atleast one thing to work on but i am going to start the oboe soo and i know that when i play for three years i might be as good as u but maybe if i try

  • you lift your fingers much too high. need more dynamics. and when you end a mote taper it off instead of stopping it with your tongue.

  • Your 32nd notes are too slow in the initial entrance. Also, your tone sounds a bit strained, but you will do well with practice I'm sure. Maybe nerves got to you, I don't know.

    Good luck.

  • ive been playing oboe for 2 years now and i absolutely luv it.

  • You make it seem so easy!

  • i loved it i want to switch to oboe soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo badly but i might

  • Oboe is very similar to clarinet.

I play clarinet and have been for 4 years

    You however

make me sound really bad at it=p

    since u r so good

  • nice!!!!

  • Good job :)

    I also played Clarinet..

    But I love playing oboe..

Played it since I was 8 years old ^^

  • I think you did good very good 2 thumbs up :)

  • I think you did a wonderful job, the vibrato is good, considering most oboists don't learn until their third year or so.Your tone is beautiful, though you might want to work on articulation a bit, and be careful of the transitions from high - low and vice versa.Try keeping your fingers on the keys at all times (it makes your life a lot easier), but other than that, your great!

  • I learned my virbrato when i started playing barley!I had half a year and i already had had it down my teacher was surprised i got it so fast

  • Same here, though I keep getting told it's hard from other oboists.

  • Nice!!! Especially for only a year!

  • is it just me or does it sound that every oboe is always a bit flat? i kno mine's always flat

  • wow! amazing! Im thinking of switching from Clarinet to Oboe. Do you think that would be a fairly easy transition or should i stick with clarinet?

  • i switched, it takes a little while for your mouth to get used to the small reed. I think you should if you are willing to practice A LOT... I had to practice a lot in the beginning. But the oboe is fairly easy when you get used to it.

    =)

  • It's bloody good for just a year and a half's worth of playing, but it needs soooooo much work; I know final year music college students who would be wary about playing this piece in a recital. x

  • I've been playing for abou a year, but I'm not even an eighth as good as that!!!!!!!

  • Wow!! You only learned for a year and a half, but you played so well!!

  • OMG IM SPEACHLESS!

  • It's shameful!!! You have to study scales and staccatto first and then play this concert!!! And it'll be better if you do some music when you play. And you are OUT OF TUNE always!!!

  • Oh pishaw! You wouldn't know what an in tune oboe sounded even if it bit you in the ass... and didn't he clarify that he's only been playing the oboe for a year! He's played clarinet for seven years my dear. Clarinet and oboe don't have the same fingerings nor embechoures.

  • braaaaaaavoooooo

  • you are sooo good! i'm just staring to learn oboe, switching from Bass Clarinet. it's tough, but if i end up sounding like you it'll b worth it!

  • thts reli reli gud that uv picked it up so quickly and uv alredy got a nice tone 2 ur playing, keep it up :D

  • Is this for Grade 8?

  • i have been playing oboe since Monday(4 days ago) and i can already play La Bamba, i love it's fun : )

  • im in my schools band and i play percussion and its awesome..but i always wanted to play the oboe so bad but i just heard its a really complicated instrument and im just a bit afraid lol. only cause our conductor is strict. but man id love to play it.

you played lovely for someone who started in a year and half :)

  • i play oboe and i'm the only one in my school

  • Don't bow your head. It cuts off your airflow which makes your tone(I resist to say this) nasaly if you know what I mean. It just doesn't do anything good for ya.

    4/5 Pretty cool!
