  • Anyways, I realized after the spraying that I was spraying pure vinegar at him. My Dad uses it to clean up the dog's crap or something. I've always hated it. The fly at this point disappears because I looked away realizing it was vinegar. I look all over the counter, the window ledge, the blinds, nothing. 5 minutes pass and I reach for the first dish to wash and he FALLS ON MY HEAD, bounces, hits the floor, writhing in pain. I was so shit baked! I ended it though.

  • He was attacking me violently after each time I sprayed him with febreeze. I honestly felt bad, I questioned if this was a sign from God or something!? Hahaha, I was losing it. I told myself, maybe it's a test, but in any case I stopped, paused, then proceeded to the laundry room for a spray bottle of water. This was it. I spray him at least 7 times, as he's hiding to survive. I felt horrible at this point but he was really pissing me off. Oh my.

  • I just had a war with a house fly. I literal war. Battlefield, loaded guns, everything. It honestly may as well have been. Here I am bringing down dishes, over the stairs I go, immediately there's a silhouette of light from the stairs on the wall, I figure I see a month so I go to the kitchen. He comes at my head. The size of a quarter, what a house fly. He buzzes into me again. Lands on the wall 3 times, I spray him with Febreeze, he has trouble near the end and flys to my blinds in the window

  • Lousy fly.... I squashed that fly's Boston cousin.

  • I feel weird

  • haha aww its like he/she is your pet

  • where do you get those cameras?!!!! how much and what brand is it???

  • Eww.....!!

  • Wow, very cool.

  • ive never seen a fly this close up before!

  • ITS SO CUTE

  • Hey i'd really like your permission to use around 1 or 2 secods of this video for the opening credits for a film i'm making. If thats ok please let me know. Thanks.

  • As has already been pointed out, this is not a housefly, it is a flesh fly. Houseflies are smaller, less robust-looking and have different coloration.

  • Shrek in the background.

  • Hey, congratulation for this vid.

But maybe you can enhance it, if you use Deshaker and virtual dub.

Both are freeware, and it is great to stabilize the clip after recording.

    Greetings - all the best!

    STeve

  • *voice of the moustache guy from family guy*-"hey there.. i can see you got your camera ready.. dont mind me... i wont fly away.. ill just be suckin on this here sugar right here.. i love sugar.. cuz im a fly you know.."

  • hey, I like this. very cool. check out my videos. I have some bug close ups too!

  • did he died?

  • mmmm, sugary...

  • is the stabilization on? using tripod would have made the video even better.

  • i just ripped of a scab and now im dripping blood :)

  • once I had a fly as a pet when I was little lol now I'm thinking about it: "Ewww!"

  • That is a flesh fly!

  • oh man nice video dude.

  • fly's rock.

  • had no idea that flies can actually grasp food i thought they just lay ontop and eat

  • As soon as it got to 0:30 the housefly looked like a bird

  • Absolutely Awesome!

  • beautiful creature... no need to kill them =)

  • Unless there at maggot stage then kill them all

  • Wow, that's really good -- nice steady hand with the camera. That is so difficult to do without a tripod for me. Very cool details!

  • @fossilgirl8 Thanks for the appreciation.

  • @contactronak GOOD VIDEO EVEN THOW I HATE FLYS THAT WAS AN WELL DONE VIDEO

  • this camera doesnt even need a lens... just turn it into SuperMacro mode and the closer you get to something, the clearer it becomes!!!! its awesome.

  • @mohamadalikazi Thanks for the comment. I agree SuperMacro mode in this camera is great, but it doesn't work for small insects as they get scared once you get so close. WIth this macro lense, I can be at around 6 inch distance from them.

  • flies are nasty they eat with their legs

  • @sk8foodtv ye but she's so cute and happy, with her sugar cube

  • HOLY SHIT FREAKING DETAILS!

  • k weriod

  • unless you have a high performance telephoto for nikon or canon etc. one can actually get better results from a high zoom point and shoot consumer camera with a raynox 250. Reason mainly is because the cheaper point and shoots have smaller apertures at equivalent f stops. Works out in the favor of people with cheaper cameras :)

  • How is he eating without manipulating with his legs?

  • I eat a few million of those sugar cubes a day ^^

  • probably closer to a few billions

  • holy shit dude i'd be one fucking happy fly if i had a suger cube that big

  • haha lol :D

  • How did you get this depth ? My Raynox has about 1 mm to work with... It's kind of difficult to get sharp pictures. Is this cropped or something ?

  • My aperture was set to f8. Smaller the aperture, bigger the DOF you get. This housefly wasn't big either, max 3 mm width I suppose.

  • Superb footage, great video.

    5***** + Fav'd

  • Best best!!

  • kind of cute.

  • Indeed!

  • someone's getting a cavity xD

  • whats the speech in background?

  • Awsome. What lens would I need to buy to take shots like that?

  • This was shot using Canon S3 IS camera and Raynox DCR-250 macro lens.

  • WTF have between the mouth?? a tongue?? <:X

  • excellent

  • this is like DUI for flies

  • this is really high quality thanks

  • hey, how much did that macro lens cost?

  • right now it costs $53.95 on amazon.

  • you used a macro lens without a tripod? that's like difficult

  • yeah...don't have a tripod as yet...that's why the video is shaking a lot...

  • i am gonna buy Raynox not Canon normal

  • ahh, at last i found a video where fly eats something, not fly getting eated by something

  • XDi wonder if u put crack insead of sugar wild housefly

  • gemetically modfied houseflys... the worlds already fucked up enough

  • Awesome, I've the raynox250 and its an awesome little piece of kit

  • wow amazingly high quality, five stars

  • Very nice. Do you think the macro was essential? The S3 focuses down to 'touching the lens' right?

Anyway, still very original and creative.

  • Yes it was. I know S3 focuses down to 0 cm, but macro lens is used to get the magnification. The fly won't sit there if I take my s3 that close ;)

  • amazing video
