  • First of all if u a tech why u not at work right now honda opens at 7:30. yeah both r force induction but both do it diffrently so they are diffrent.Turbo spins turbine that pushes exhaust gases.while a sc r drivin by belt connected to variuos pulleys because they both are driven by diffirent methods,T and SC make boost and power in diffrent ways ass hoe giving anyone diffrent driving experiance.ask ur self dumbass does sc have lag does it produce boost at same rpm as turbo,does it cost same,

  • my honda dealer opens at 8:00. i only work 4 days a week.anyways let me help u out because im nice. the exhaust gasses go through the turbo and spin it(not "the turbo pushes the exhasut" lol idiot), the other side is the compressor side (the 2 sides are connected by a shaft) the compressor side spools at the same time, sucking in air and pushing it out into the motor. anyways dude i have a turbo car that i made a kit for so i know all about SC and turbos, and generally they both cost the same.

    I have the BRP MP-62 on my NB. 216whp @ 10.5psi in a 100degree dyno bay. I don't have that retarded charge cooler, tho. I have a real front-mount.

  • that "retarded charge cooler" is actually a water to air intercooler... which is actually way more efficient then an air-to-air intercooler (your "real" front mount).

    Also, dyno's have different variations, not to mention if you have a 2001 + miata, you have much higher compression leading to higher power.

  • It's actually pretty well accepted that the 2001+ miatas are actually more tempermental to tune and considered a headache to boost, compared to the '99 and '00. (Due to variable valve timing and the "variable length" intake runner setup.)

    My FMIC is efficient enough to keep the intake air at ambient temperature regardless of the time of year (and I live in Texas). Unless that AWIC is refrigerated - it's no more efficient. And, of course, the AWIC would be a bit heavier.

  • That looks like the smaller of the JR chargers (hotside no less), BEGI sells an ubercharger (whipple charger) that will run 8psi and upgrade to 11 which with the right fuleing and tuning can get you into 250WHP easy. I'm running GT2860RS turbo in my NB (12psi) and making ~250 WHP (that's 0-60 in 4.9-5.1 sec on best launches) and easily hits 140mph and beyond. But props to yet another happy miata owner :-)

  • I have a Ninja 600 with 100 @ the wheels and its enough for me, thanks. 190hp in a 2200 pound car doesn't seem like a lot, but believe me when I say it'll put a hurtin' on a GT/Z28 owner that can't drive and almost any 4 wheel honda. :P I assisted build an M45 powered miata that puts 170hp down. Yeah a 80hp gain for 4000$ is pretty stupid. By the time I reach the 4000$ mark I should have about 380 crankshaft but I have turbo and do my own work.

  • Heh handling and power - I've eaten R1's and YZFs in the mountains (Deals Gap regular) w/the turbo miata - you should have seen the look on their face when I stayed with them in all (ALL) the turns and they couldn't shake me... Don't get me wrong - I love bikes too but seriously a good driver in a fast turbo miata can easily out drive some of the best bikes/riders. But it cost me more on the order of 6-7K to get the car to this level.

  • Flyin' miata sells those superchargers now. With their engine management (Voodoo card) it's about 3,000. But you'll also need a new clutch if you're gonna run more then about 180hp. A new clutch plus lightened flywheel will be 700 if you do it yourself. You need to make sure all maintenance has been done i.e. fuel filter, colder plugs ect. You'll need gauges to moniter your car(boost, A/F, and temp is what I recomend). With shipping and everthing else, you're lookin at an easy 4,000.
