Above all there are two musicians which I never heard live and which saddens me very much. Two musicians who were the only perfect musicians ever in my opinion:
Fritz Wunderlich and Carlos Kleiber.
I'm happy that there are at least some recordings of them :)

I didn't mean exactly this performance of Strauss's Ouverture of Die Fledermaus, I meant Kleiber.
In my opinion the best version is the one from 1989 with the VPO followed by the one from 1986 (Tokyo) and the one from 1970 with the SSO.
Whatever version you like the most, in my opinion nobody will ever have any chance to reach Kleiber, especially conducting Strauss.
