  • My worst fear for Nintendo is to sell out (something they haven't done yet) and try to appeal to this so called "hardcore gamer" market by pumping out tons of military FPS, Uncharted clones etc etc and all the other mainstream crap that people love so much.

  • @cloudskipa Well, if you think for a minute nintendo won't try and have these games on there system you'd be mad really, they could make massive sales out of it, but personally that ain't them selling out. They are nintendo for crying out loud, we can trust them all the way to bring us stellar titles we know and love. It's all a guessing game really until we hear more but was great to see your comments dude. I do like to see other's opinions :)

  • @iCrytex Yeah I'm sure they'll have those types of games on the Wii-U as the Wii already does have pretty much every COD game released this gen for example, but I was more concerned with Nintendo changing the style of games they develop (even if it's subtle to begin with) but I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon eh?

I like Nintendo for being Nintendo, but it seems a lot of people would love them to change. I just hope that never happens. :/

  • @iCrytex Give me a new F-zero. Star Fox and Pilotwings at launch and I'll snap it up. Nintendo do need to pull their finger out a bit and realise they have more franchises than just Mario, Zelda and Metroid if that's what you were getting at.

  • Secondly I do not understand why you said the Wii wasn't a core Nintendo conosole when it had a far better library than the Gamecube, most of the Nintendo franchises were superb this gen and there was also a ton of hardcore/niche games on the Wii, it probably has the best (or at the very least, most unique) exclusives this gen tbh. Only problem was there was a ton of shovelware, but it was the same for PS2 yet no-one calls that a casual machine.

  • @cloudskipa It really didn't feel like it for me over the years. The whole mii's, sports games and so much more you can't really deny most of the wii title's are aimed at the family rather than the common nintendo fan. YES, I see it now though when looking at the full list of really decent titles I understand how much of a great system it is. I can agree with you on the exclusives to be quite honest, lots of variety that I feel is lacking in the ps3 and 360 exclusive library.

  • I don't understand how you can say the Wii/DS brand is fizzling out with 3DS sales skyrocketing at the moment. There's also a solid library on it, though I guess that's down to taste, but it caters to Nntendo fans well.

  • @cloudskipa Well the 3ds personally for me felt rushed yknow, the quicker than usual release of the second thumbstuck shows this. The sales of the 3ds started going downhill after a few months BUT with the release of some mario 3ds land and mario kart 7 they really have skyrocketed the sales. Yes, I agree but not enough for me to go out and buy one really at this moment.

  • Some interesting points there Lewis on the Wii-U......to be honest i'm a little on the fence and not because it's not a nice looking bit of kit (because it is) but the competition is so fierce that I can't really justify having all the consoles and especially when they all perform to a similar level (ish). If the games are great and the price structure is good i'll consider it but i'll be on the fence watching first rather than diving in on/around release day :)

  • @bluetonic78 Thanks Alex. I really am on the fence myself. When I first heard of nintendo's new console, things started flying everywhere in my mind, what new tech they would bring to the scene, an amazing new original nintendo design and so much else, so to be hit with the wii again is a bit of a slap to the face.. So I'm more excited now to see what sony/microsoft will show off. Yeah dude, the games will really make or break this system for me :) Thanks again mate!

  • yeah pete, i almost bought a white 40gb on ebay it went for 125 quid and i thought shit this is a bargain, as i've seen BIN for 400-500, some of the phats i've heard do have problems with certain modern games, sorry for stealing ur channel for this question lewis haha, peace out!

  • I enjoyed the Wii and played it a lot. As a person who owns all systems, I found a lot of Nintendo games and smaller, niche games to enjoy on the Wii. If you look, there's a ton to play on the platform. Granted, I'm not one who fancies playing the big budget, oh so "amazing" Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed games, as they've become formulaic and stale. I'll definitely get the Wii U, as it's the only new upcoming system I'm super excited for since we haven't yet seen Nintendo games in HD.

  • @MrDeathSmiles Yeah there is a cracking variety of titles to be had on the wii, So I can't wait to go back and get some of the hidden gems in the future. Yeah I'm into my big blockbusters but I'll give anything a try, smaller not so in your face titles are really enjoyable, where you enjoy the game for entertainment not high quality visuals or plot :) It will be a treat to see some crisp, HD zelda action for me, I can't wait to see more :) Thanks for the comment dude!

  • @iCrytex

I take it you live in the UK? If so, I'm totally jealous. :P I want to play The Last Story for the Wii. :( I could mod the system, but I hope they'll bring it out here one of these days as a sendoff to the Wii.

    And no prob. Good vid!

  • I know I won't!!! All of my friends who had the Wii played it for, oh, about 2 days. They now either collect dust, used as a doorstop, or a bookend.

  • @MikeGartner The WiiU is a new console. It is the second version of the wii, and nintendo explained that they will be trying to get the teenager audience back into nintendo's products. I am sure to get myself a wiiu eventually, most likely sometime near the day it comes out.

  • @The8BitMofo I understand it's a new console. But, for me, I'll always stick with retro. The premise sounds cool, but, as with all new gen, I'll wait till all the kinks are worked out and there's a stable of games you can't do without.

  • @MikeGartner Yeah a lot of people are talking about how there's are collecting dust. Me personally I have kinda taken the approach of I'll get a wii when it feels right and to be honest I've done it quite well. Very cheap console, list of decent titles available over years, mostly cheap titles. Not bad eh? They could redeem themselves here or fall flat on there faces. With the wonky 3ds sales, this could spell disaster for nintendo..

  • I'm on the fence myself about the WiiU (as I was for the 3DS). If Nintendo show that there will be a strong lineup of interesting games I will probably get one, but I'm not convinced so far.

  • @almeu2011 3ds does nothing special for me, I allready own a ds and I still need to get stuck into that first lol. Same mate, I actually remember seeing the wii u logo while I was waiting to hear news on e3 about Nintendo's new system.. let's just say it was a face palm moment of disappointment, hopefully they can do something marvelous with the controller and have a cracking roaster! Cheers again mate!

  • Some good points, but I can imagine Sony chucking the towel in soon if things don't improve for ps3 or PSN. As for WiiU, when it gets here surly it will be about the same power as the 360 / ps3? Bundled with that controller, the price will be interesting. I just think we are all being led up the Cloud / DLC path, before we know it, our games collection is more to do with the abstract than something tangible! Great vid geezer, look after yourself :-)

  • @retroballz Cheers mate! It would be an interesting move (no pun intended lol) if they did chuck it in, the ps3 while seemingly the powerhouse out of the lot this gen still doesn't so much for me. Psn wise has made a real mockery of sony over the years. Yup, forgot to mention that in the video, it's like In my eyes exactly what the wii should have been, now it's just catching up to this elderly gaming gen standards. No doubt, still see it being a good few years of but it's coming!

  • i dont know if i will. still waitin for the wii to drop in price some more so i can get one of those again lol

  • @shenmueso I am still quite on the fence I just don't know enough and again something I forgot to mention is, it seems like nintendo have just caught up to the 360/ps3 standard and if I'm quite honest, yeah ok graphics don't matter too much, BUT in saying that I don't want to be left in the last gen while the ps4 and 360 blow wide open miles ahead! I want to be there when it happens!

  • Like yourself Lewis I want a good solid game line-up to make the wii-u worth buying day 1. I want both 1st & 3rd party titles of a high calibur. I also would love to see the wii-u be used as a media centre. Streaming video to the controller would be fantastic to watch in bed after finishing my gaming for the evening. Also the PS3 was £425, 360 if I remember rightly was £250 at launch and I think I paid £180 for the Wii, I definitely paid £425 at launch for PS3 anyway lol.

  • @Snestastic It just has to be Pete, and good shout on 3rd party titles too. I don't want to see a lackluster approach like we seen on the wii. I mean look at the shovelware, it's horrendous, they really need to get back to high nintendo standard! That would be a cracking idea the whole streaming aspect, I'm still interested in seeing how it all works although I'm worried the controller won't be as comfortable etc like a normal controller, but time will tell! £425 is just insane lol!

  • @iCrytex lol tbh Lewis I still can't believe I laid out £425 at the launch of the PS3. I had imported a US PS3 before the launch and was really impressed but eventually sold that to get a 360 elite and then when the ps3 launched I thought sod it I'm getting one lol. The wii u controller has so much potential, I just really hope it gets used to it's full capacity :)

  • @Snestastic That's pretty epic Pete haha, also one thing I've always wondered yet never asked, why do you have 3 ps3's mate haha? The white one looks pretty snazzy, whats the story behind that one :) ? It really does, it shall be interesting and I guess as the cliche goes, only time will tell!

  • @iCrytex lol well I did have two PS3'S, the LBP box is just the box from my dads PS3. I had the White one originally as it was Japanese and I wanted a white one and could only get one from Japan. Then last year I got the Slim 160gb UK PS3. I have just sold the white one unfortunately as Sony bricked the console with a firmware from last year which I can't get around so the console was useless which really annoyed me lol. Sold it as spares/repair though so not a total loss :)

  • @Snestastic That's crazy dude, I was wondering about the white one since I'm certain there hasn't been a white one released here in the uk! Absolutely gutting though, Sony bricking their own systems... Did it go for a good price despite that lol?

  • @iCrytex lol yep I wasn't too impressed when I switched it on dude :) As it happens I got a lot more than I thought I would, I put it on ebay for a stupid buy now with make me an offer and a bloke did and it was a good one lol.

  • I'll be getting one

  • @lvpepe38 Good stuff Louis, what you most interested in so far about the system?

  • @iCrytex The controller with built in screen and the fact that you can play the games on it as well as the tv.

  • @lvpepe38 Yeah it dude it's got a lot of potential!

  • I'm gonna pick it up...

  • @shadygreatone Nice one dude, anything that's driving you the most about picking up one?

  • oh and forgot to say, sorry for the lateness of my reply, and it's gona be really sub par spec wise, if the rumours of the 360 having a hex core, 2gb ddr3 ram are true which is a lot better than some gaming pcs, i think it might end up going for the casual market, as it's the casual option when a lot of superior machines will be out, however history states the usually the most powerful console is the least successful, 3do, neo geo aes... lecture over ha :)

  • @johnwilliamson47 If the consoles can come out matching somewhat the standard of pc gaming I won't mind, most the games these days are lacking to what the pc gaming can show off since there's basically the next gen every year or two lol! Exactly, well the wii is a perfect example, visually the same as the gamecube, much smaller machine compared to the 360 and ps3 yet outsold them by a mile!

  • hey lewis! how are you, just got back from town, was empty and depressing lol, i like the idea of the wii u if it provides a decent specification, but nothing extrordinary it's the games that matter, plus i worry about the cost, i've already spent a load haha, be interesting if the ps3 and xbox are announced i've heard the xbox will come out in the fall in this year in the usa, zelda and mario would convince me :):), what you been doing?! haha speak to you soon :)

  • @johnwilliamson47 Hey John! Sounds likes a crazy wild night out on the town then lol!! True mate, If it can provide a roaster of decent first party titles that nintendo use to put out then I'm happy, 3rd party should be spot on aswell, sick of this amount of shovelware shite like party/sports games etc that literally corrupt the wii's library! Same haha, That's why I hope they don't announce the xbox 3 this year so I have two years to save for it lol!

  • I'd get a WiiU if it ends up being a suitable alternative to the next Xbox and PS with the same quality 3rd party games and a good online experience. Also, thanks for watching my video...lol. I just got my computer back since it broke.

  • @jetson215 Yeah dude, which for me and as I say with the bad taste of the wii brand left over I'm still having my doubts but so far the titles are looking good. One biggie I forgot to mention like you say is if it's a suitable alternative, I mean is the wii u really next gen? Not by a mile shot so far, heck, it looks like it's just capable to taking on this gen! No problem and thanks for watching mine :) Hope to see more from you dude!

  • The number of times you mention the PS4 and Xbox 3 in this video...makes me scared thinking about if they do actually get announced this year - it's just too soon. I really hope Microsoft step it up this year and go all out with triple-A fan-pleasing title after triple-A fan-pleasing title, starting with Halo 4 at the top of their conference rather than COD again!

  • @PulpVideos I think it would be too soon, but now they really need to step it up if you ask me now the wiiu will be ushering in the next gen, although I have my doubts about just how next generation defining the wiiu really will be. If they announced ps4, xbox 3 this year it would undoubtedly steal a lot of wind from nintendo. Definetely dude, this year all I can care most about is halo 4 haha :D

  • @iCrytex I think if the Xbox 3 is out next year, it would be better if Halo 4 was a launch title, and perhaps that could be a clue that it wont be out next year. I'd have thought MS would want something like a Halo to launch it, perhaps Xbox 3 + Halo 5 in 2014 - wishful thinking probably.

  • @PulpVideos Yeah dude it really is down to if they want to take away nintendos slight bit of thunder they would announce it this year, personally I think it won't and this will be the last big go at this gen with 2013 being all eyes on the proper next gen. Yeah, 343 said halo 4 is definitely for the 360 and put to rest xbox 3 launch title idea. I'd imagine halo 5 for 2014, they must surely have the new trilogy mapped out or else they wouldn't have announced it as a new trilogy :)

  • Hey Lewis.

    How u doin....

I wont be buyin the Wii-u.

Apparently, the new xbox and PS4 are goin to be unveilled at E3 in June this year.....

If the price is ok,i'll buy it!!!!!!

    Enjoyed the vid

    Cheers

    Michael.....

  • @MrMcoleman28 Yeah I mean if the real next gen gets announced this E3 I will be amazed and we can definitely expect them to hit next year. So for me that's basically a year between wii-u and the "real" next gen is just to short so I would hold out. So if they don't then it's basically two years which is a good amount. I really look forward to whatever happens :) Cheers Michael!
