they were an awesome band when they had things to write about. small town life was a huge topic for them and gave them most of their word gets around album. performance was quality but once they got touring properly i feel they lost what made them so good and wrote songs for the wrong reasons which were inferior to their first 2 albums. i havent listened to em since gotta go there to come back. such a shame.
Indeed i also think you're overlooking the phonics! I would say they were really in their prime in 2005 with language sex violence other tour. Albeit they had a few shaky moments and recent releases have been suspect, such as their latest single. I still think they have a lot to give even if it isn't as prolific as previous releases.
Kelly Jones is a genuis. Though i still can't decide who's a better musician between him and Noel Gallagher. I Adore them both!

this always used to be my favourite phonics tune. I don't really listen to them these days. i preferred it when the music was simpler.

really? i love mainstream pop and "complicated" music haha, but you know what?
i love the stereophonics.
their music is about the actual music itself, not about catchy beats you can't escape, almost hypnotizing in a bad way.
stereophonics makes real music; this is what music should be like today.
