I always loved those adventure books, as well as other choose-your-own-adventure books (my favorites being the Give Yourself Goosebumps series). They were kind of limited since you can see most of the scenes if you reach the end of the book the first time, but they were still pretty fun and the puzzles and scoring system in each book were always interesting.
