By the way....the other kids I have seen in videos sit back too far on their skis (tail-riding). Arianne has superb balance and carving form and will do well in racing. I can't wait to see her in the Olympics!!!

This child is amazing no matter what the terrain. Her carving skills are wonderful which will get her farther in racing no matter how steep it is. Beautiful child.

@ajsqueen Thanks a lot for your kind comments. Arianne has been well balanced on her skis for a while now. I think that the fact that she practices gymnastics regularly helps a lot. Her 2010-2011 video is in the making and should be out soon. Cheers.

She definitely has the race form that likely works well for the mountains in your area that are not as steep as Rockies/West Coast.

I'm a bit surprised on the extra long ski poles? She is very good, nonetheless.

I attached a video response of my 5 year old on the steeper terrain that we ski.

@kcespon Nice video, your son tackles the steeps very well and shows skills that are beyond the average 5 y.o. kids. Hills out East may not be as steep as those in the Rockies, but I find that our icy conditions and very hard pack snow seem to compensate for the lack of steepness. Our kids focus more on their egding rather than their gliding skills. As for the long poles, she used her older brother's poles most of the season. This year, they fit better. Happy skiing and keep in touch.

J'ai l'impression que ses pôles sont un eu trop grandes pour elle, pour ce qui est du reste, c'est une jeune skieuse exceptionnelle. Tant et aussi longtemps qu'elle aimera skier, cette petite fille accrochera le regard de tous les fans de ski alpin.

I've watched most of her earlier videos and she is truly an extraordinary little skier. However, I feel that in this vid she seems to be leaning forward at the waist a little too much. Getting forward should be more from the ankles. I'll bet she's been watching racing videos and is thinking aerodynamics! ;o)

@JGMagoo Thanks a lot for your comments. You're right when you mention that she leans forward at the waist. This is mostly the result of her not being strong enough to flex her ankles efficiently, therefore she compensates with her waist. You're also right with the fact that she has been watching many skiing videos and older kids as well. Cheers.

funniest thing happend in austria

a qualified ski coach was teaching his class of toddlers (5-6 years old)

they were all in a line followinng him then the instructor lead them down a bumpy track over a little jump and he fell over much funny enough but even funnier when little 5 year old austrians come bombing past him laughing.

I come from england so i cant ski regularly like americans and people from mountainy places but in these places its just like learning to walk or ride a bicycle.

My two girls are Arianne's biggest fans! They both love watching her videos.

My 2 year old just started skiing, and at the bottom of her first slalom she turned to me and said 'look, I skied just like Arianne'.

Hi..saw all her videos! Now do an "interview" video of her asking questions such as how she got into skiing, why she likes it, what is she working on, her friends that ski...and advice fo other little kids! She is awsome and one to wach in the future...do an interview would like to see the personality behind those ski-goggles...and inspire my own young skiier!

Thanks. She's on the slopes every weekends and holidays from late November until the end of March. Both her parents are experienced ski instructors and coaches, but we prefer to let the coaching part to the ski club where she trains.

absolutely beautiful! superb progression, my boy is a racer too now, only thing is getting to the slopes has not always been easy but he has improved considerably, when the afterburners get fired up, hard to catch, as i can see once your daughter sets those skis on edge with exquisite angulation, no catching up to her either.
