I've seen guys with 3 and 4 finger right hand playing. It's good if you want to play some fast passage or something once in a while, . . but there is no dynamics and a weak attack. Playing with 2 fingers (the strong fingers) is much better because you can use dynamics, and if have good technique, still play fast. I more concerned with making each note count instead of playing a million meaningless notes.
@GaryNull But of course there are always exceptions.
Abe Laboriel uses a 5 finger technique, but he is just in a league of his own and one of the top 3 bass players ever in my opinion: youtube.com/watch?v=2di8Dfnjths
hey man, thanks for the nice words but I did already make a video that shows this technique very clearly and slowly, just look on my profile videos and look for the four finger picking lesson video, let me know if it helps
Like the man said.... MAD skills. :) VERY nice work, Mike. Thanks SO much for always taking the time to share different techniques with everyone. GREAT lesson on this one.
Mike- looks like you were getting the same questions about muting as I was- I didn't even notice you had posted this video until now (after posting mine on the same subject a couple days ago). Good stuff!

Mike - you are a bass MONSTER but to really help more players fully grasp this technique you need to sssssslow it right down!
