I think the adding of Bruce's high-pitch voice here adds a lot to the song. Yes it removes the darker side of the original, but it makes it more epic, more flowing. I DEFINATELY want a studio version of this, with good quality sound (though this is pretty good)

@flaviolas Yes, i agree. But in this video, he puts too much drum grooves, Bruce changes too much your sing style... This song was made to play SIMPLE, like the original version. Is the same thing if you get Back in Black and changes the simple 4/4 drum grooves to extended Dream Theater grooves. What is made simple, need to continues simple. The X-Factor rocks!

Bruce is 47 in this video - a lot past his vocal prime. You can see he is straining (which ends up leading to pich inconsistency), and he pulls the mic off in the high notes. Besides, he got the song transposed down so he can sing the high parts octave up, which I really think was unnecessary.

The melody is a killer, the lyrics are strong, I don't see why he chose to go high instead of going powerful...

I like Blaze better in this song.

Bruce's golden era was from 82 to 92, in terms of vocal technique.

@maferreira1984 I think Bruce had the best range prior to somewhere in time, in that album he doesn't hit some much high notes anymore, though his vocals are almost the same as before. He had troubles live in the late eighties and 90s, and he changed his singing style(maybe) because of that. Mid-90s he got his voice back a tad lower but I prefer the tone in BNW and his solo albums Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding. Now his vocals are pretty good too, he had problems in the mid 2000s.

Bruce is way better than Blaze, that's not a question. But Blaze is very underrated singer. to replace Bruce must be very thankless task, because people are used to Bruce's vocal, which can't nobody do better, so people hate blaze even he was awared of that he's worse than bruce and he tried to done his maximum. thanks Blaze for everythink and thanks god, Bruce's back!!

I like a lot B.Bayley but his voice wasn't for Maiden. I remember a few months ago in an interview, Dickinson said that he loves the X Factor cause' it is so dark...me too!! @emillan36 Actually, Blaze has a lower voice than Bruce. On the record (X Factor) the song was in F# to fit Blaze's voice. When Bruce sings it, they drop it down a full tone (to E) and Bruce sings an octave up.
