I'm not sure what are you trying to notice. But, you should know that you're not listening live to the speakers. What are you listening to is the recording, which I don't think has any flaw. Usually the recording loses the actual sound quality. Anyhow, T40 gave me the ever lasting impression in 2.0. Now I'm enjoying Z5500D.
why didn't you buy a separate subwoofer instead, to connect to your t40's? the t40's give you some of the best mid/highs around, and matching them to a sub with about the same price as the z5500D, would give some very high quality music. or are you watching movies/playing games too?
Yes, it is. But this chest thumping and heart thomping bass is only audible in few songs like that one. Anyways, these are awesome speakers in 2.0. I tried hundreds of songs and I didn't notice any distortion at considerably high volume levels. But, keep in mind that these are the room speakers strong enough to fill the room but not suitable for parties.
The speakers themselves I'm sure are great (But of course just an opinion as I cannot HEAR them ;-) ) - The issue is of course not a problem with Dell but a problem with Creative maker of Gigaworks - they are distributing the wrong power adapter. But, since I bought through Dell it's a PITA to send them back - 1 hour on the phone talking to 5 different people - not unusual for dealing with Dell. I called Creative too and they wanted me to send the entire product in to them for fixing...
I bought a pair of these through DELL - they came with a non-functioning power adapter (27V output, 1.7A). It was also not the same one featured in any of the reviews I've seen. Have to send them back!

And you can't use WMP omg use foobar2000!!
33kbpsAACplus 2 years ago
why not? I think WMP is quite effective in most cases, its faster than iTunes too, which is funny, lol! IE is lame tho
djlobb 2 years ago
Why? I'm using Aimp, but WMP with Klite Codecs Pack is good program to movies and music too.

Thx for this... was looking to see which speakers to get.
Just a word of caution: don't place your laptop on mattresses and bedcovers; it blocks the ventilation and you'll burn out the fan sooner or later.

For sure, send it back to dell.

if the adapter was 27V then im pretty sure the speakers are fried XD speakers usually are 12V
DontLikeJunk 3 years ago
You had the T40 series "I" speakers with the T40 series II adapter. 27v into 20v would have fried them like "DontLikeJunk" said!
T20 Series "I" - 12v
T20 Series II and T40 Series "I" - 20v
T40 Series II - 27v
