Nice, South Korea has a tank that does that also. Comes in handy for sitting in wait behind landscape, can level the tank out and lower the target profile. Very useful in a ambush!!!

Well, Orange2578, Japan- technically speaking- doesn't have an army. Instead, it has a Self-Defense force. While they can't attack other countries or intervene in foreign affairs, this is actually an advantage to a certain extent: namely, their inability to attack gives them the best defense. So, with all that time to train and develop on their hands, it would be unwise for a country to invade Japan, because they'll kick the invaders' ass right out.

Id keep in mind this is the SELF DEFENSE FORCE, not the attack force, there armoured vehicles and weaponry are designed and suited for repelling any invaders, i.e. North Korea. One possibly stereotypical but historically backed fact is that the Japanese would be kicking the shit out of everyone if we allowed them to.

The Type74's sasepension has hydrolics used to raise and lower the tank, depending on the ground or battle situation.

It`s the same type of suspension as the Swedish Stridsvagn S had. The Japanese used the same design as the Swedish. Great Tank.
