@newjew2: Thanks for the extra info! I truly appreciate it.
I do know that Nashboro re-released albums that were recorded on other labels, like Apollo. Maybe this is the case with the Harrison Johnson album also, b/c I do have the album as Savoy album MG 14237- "Blessed Quietness." Maybe Savoy re-released the Creed album or vice-versa. I also have this song on an album titled GOLDEN GOSPEL JUBILEE, which is a double-LP set from Savoy. Lawd hammercy! So much. Lol!
What year did this album come out. I know it was on Savoy. Was this their first album? I'm sitting in the UCLA Ethnomusicology Archive with the actual vinyl recording of this but Savoy didn't put a year on the actual record. How has the album cover? I'd really want to know when this came out.
@kronk99: Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the year it came out. I hate how Savoy didn't date most of their albums. I don't have the actual LP, but my goddad burned the album on a CD for me. He sold the album after burning it. I have some print outs of Savoy's recordings. When I get home tomorrow evening, I'll see if this album is included.
@kronk99: I've just checked the discography listing that I have for most of Savoy's albums. It doesn't have a year listed there either; however, the albums are listed in album # order and this particular one is listed between albums that were released in 1969 and 1970. So, I'm concluding that it was released in either year. If I get a definite year, I'll let you know.
OMG THIS TRULY IS A POWERFUL SONG! I HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE JESUS MY CHOICE! I remember this song as a child but wow it really ministers today ....hmmmmmm my my my
Correct me if I'm wrong, but was that D.J Rogers also singing the duet w/Sharon?
I know he was working with various choirs around the Los Angeles area and he even had a group called "The Watts Community Choir". He can be heard on Hezikiah Walker's latest project with Marvin Sapp.
D! You've done it again--thanks for this post. The lead vocalist, Sharon, was Harrison's wife, man when I got back from 'Nam this was one of my favorites. Thanks for the precious memories!
Hey I love this song. It's one of my most favorite songs ever. You know I just love me some old school music anyways. Thanks man. I'm going to start calling you the kind of gospel.
The Doors of the Church are now open.... won't you come... Canidiate for Baptism, you may come on your plea of Christian Experience, or you may come by letter....

Actually, this was not on Savoy. It was on Creed Records- a division of Nashboro. It came out around 1969-'70.
