  • My wife was pretty much dead. After 18 hours in the freezer, she jumped out of there like a 16 year old cheerleader. Thanks.

  • @trainjustleft LOL!

  • I have that same Coleman Max 2AA. Advertised as 110 lumens, more like 35, but a good light for $20. It also keeps my girlfriend from borrowing (aka LOSING ) my Quarks, Fenix, and Nitecores, so yes, I do like it. ; )

  • May this work on a car battery I got a large deep freezer and 8 year old car battery out of my 63 in the yard

  • So,,, Do I want to attempt to charge the batteries (NiMH) first before the freezing?

  • This worked great for me. I had 2 completely dead 3 year old RC Nimh batteries that would never charge for me. I threw them in the freezer overnight and they work almost like new. Thank you so much. Saved me $50.

  • I recharged my 9.6v NiMH and put it in the refrigerator. is that good to keep its charge?

  • @TheItalianPerson I know keeping batteries cooler than room temperature is good for them......fridge probably won't hurt them.

  • @sirmasterpimp thanks :)

  • @sirmasterpimp Here's some more helpful advice about NiMH battery chargers. It's a good idea to get the right NiMH charger. You never want a NiMH battery charger with a LED(Light Emitting Diode) that's always on when the charge time is complete. I'm just letting you know.

  • is it good to leave a NiMH and a NiCad battery uncharged?

  • @TheItalianPerson No, not for long periods of time at least.

  • can i put the hole battery in including the wires ? hope u reply

  • @Tubs2k10 What type of battery and device ?

You can put a whole device in the freezer, as long as it doesn't have a ton of electronics (rechargeable flashlight, lantern....

  • @sirmasterpimp its an rc battery

  • @Tubs2k10 It will work as long as the battery is NIMH or NICad......Lithium batteries won't work

  • @sirmasterpimp ok thanks :D

  • thankyou verymuch for speaking English. I verymuch so respect you. u don't talk some ghetto nigger. u talk like an educated, family man, good hearted black man. this country needs more guys like you and less niggers. I'm what I guess u call a racist hick but I have no problems with black ppl if they were just like this guy. btw great vid man

  • Well this definatley works I bought 3 secondhand batteries & they had a very short usage I followed your instructions & it doubled the usage time. I'm happy as Larry

  • so do you think freezing my AA nickle batteries will improve their capacity they have, and make them almost like new.

  • Can i do this with my ipod touch ? the battery is completly gone and wnt work atall or charge

  • @ExmouthAirsoft You can't.....It won't work on a lithium battery.

You can get a battery replacement kit on ebay for the touch.....$10-$15 shipped.

The battery in my second gen touch is starting to go too, I'll probably end up getting one of these kits one day.

  • im trying it out now

hope it works on a dell inspirion 700m battery

  • wait a minute u can made your battery charge again if u put it in the freezer?

  • how about in NiCd AA battery in my RC

  • nice tan

  • @threewheelsbetter Yep, the nice thing about it is I never have to tan in the sun......it lasts 24 / 7.....365 days of the year, lol

  • Hmm, I hear freezing them can help them keep their charge but this I have never heard of and neither has Google.

  • @ajuk1 Freezing won't help keep an already good battery charged. Keeping a battery in a cool environment, like a fridge will however slow down the natural deterioration of the cell that comes as it ages. The reason I freeze the batteries is to break down sulfation, which reduces a batteries capacity and ability to hold a charge. In the case of these batteries, sulfation comes in the form of tiny crystals, which can be broken down and turned back into electrolyte by freezing the battery.

  • im im viewer number 10,000

  • hey, this didn't work for me, any ideas why? i don't believe you are wrong, intact I think your insight is very enlightening. i just wanna know a few more tips? thankyou

  • Hey. I have just done this to a bunch of my old solar batteries that I was about to throw away. IT WORKED!!! You saved me alot of money. Thank you Sir!!

  • @77alwaysalisha77 Glad I could help!

  • NO NO NO WRONG! You fully discharge the battery then you charge it. You should learn before you teach.

  • @jasongiddensviper478 Not actually, When you fully discharge a battery you risk building up more sulpahtion inside the cell, which can damage the cell even more than it was starting out (sometimes it works, but it didn't for me). I am more than fully aware of exactly what I am doing, I wouldn't waste my or anybody else's time making a video with false information. I have reconditioned over 50 batteries using my method. How many have you reconditioned ? Please think before you post

  • if you wikipedia NIMH, it will recomand to fully discharge before recharging to avoid the loss of capacity. ???? but your vid is totally opposite..????

  • @AfghanKnight007 I tried it the recommended way and those batteries didn't last longer than 2 days without fully discharging. Even though my method goes against tradition, it has worked better for me (weeks without discharge). Keep in mind that different batteries will be affected differently and that there is an endless possibility of results because of that. I would suggest that you try the traditional way and see if they discharge correctly.....If not, give my way a try.

  • @AfghanKnight007 anybody can edit out something on wikipedia

  • this is great, I was hoping I could resurrect my batteries. I did not realize you should leave 20% before charging. thanks for the video!

  • do the batteries need to be charged or discharged before freezing? thanks for info!

  • I discharged my batteries to around 40% before I stuck them in the freezer. I did freeze a few at a full charge, but didn't notice a real difference. What type of batts are you trying to recondition? (Nimh, Nickle cad, lead acid or lithium)

  • nicad battery pack 8.4v 600mah sanyo kr 600ae type cells. tried to recondition with delta peak smart charger by cycling thru charge/discharge but charge stays for only about 3 days. thanks for help!

  • Unfortunately sometimes nickle cad battery packs are hard to reconditon, because they develop crystal dendrite growth within the cells themselves. There is no way to get rid of this by simply freezing the cells. The only way that I've seen that works is to zap the cells with a 12 volt dc power supply (such as a car battery with enough current) to dissolve the crystals. I haven't yet tried this method on NIcad batts, but should soon (on a old 1ah dead nicad pack I have laying around).

  • @sirmasterpimp thanks! time for new nimh packs.

  • Thanks mr, I have three sets of batterys, 2 sets are Ni MH batterys that I have had for a couple of years, I have a power hungry Logitech MX precision gaming mouse that eats batts for breakfast so i always have to have a set in the charger bay ready to go when the ones in use die. The last few months ive been getting less and less power out of them to the point now where I have to swap them out every two days. This may help me squeeze that little bit extra before they die.

  • @locutus12

Great to hear, the green batteries in this vid are quite old and were also giving me problems. They showed the best results from the freeze. They last as long, if not longer than my newest nimh batteries. Hope it works as well for you

  • wow, dude u have alot of energizer stuff!!

  • Yep, I'm never without batteries for my flashlights

  • sounds good :D
