  • Definitely like how you tied it across your chest. If this carry is done properly like you have shown, I don't see how a baby could ever fall out. Women have been carrying babies like this for centuries and other than maybe double knotting that last knot, I think the instructions were great!

  • I thought a back carry would be great for my little guy and I tried it but the back support very easily works it's way down and there's nothing stopping my baby from falling out. When I researched it I realised that this is why Moby retracted the back carry and no longer prints instructions for it.

I also read an account on Babycentre by a mama who was in Wholefoods and saw a six month old baby fall out of the hold & straight onto his head, hitting the grocery shelf on the way down. No no no.

  • @chellelovestea I know this is old but I just wanted to say that baby allegedly fell out of a stretchy wrap (like the Moby). Back carries with a woven (non-stretchy) wrap such as the one in the video are very safe provided they are done correctly (spreading the cloth, making it tight, making sure it holds de baby in a proper seated position and proper support of the back). It does take practice but it's doable.

  • I'll have to give this one a try! Thanks!

  • Very nice!

  • Nice video and great demonstration.. Wish I knew about this when my kids were young. But I'll be a grandma any day now so I will try it out!! Thanks again

  • that was awesome and easy. is this same dimensions than a moby wrap?

  • Excellent! I'll try tomorrow ^^ I do it quite differently, I'm not sure my wrap is long enough to make a knot on the hips + on the chest!

Your kid is so sweet :p

  • Very Helpful! I can't do it yet but I'll keep practicing. It's letting me type this note (babes on my back.)

  • very helpful I have not yet done a successful back carry

  • wow!!

  • Thanks! i can't find my ergo - must make dinner and dd is sad... i found my wrap and got brave - haven't done a back hold before, but my 11yo dd helped me get it smooth - this will take practice, but i'm glad to get a new skill demonstrated to me so quickly:) - (plus, this carry looks cute!)

  • I like how you tie it at your chest at the beginning! Can't wait to try this one!

  • thank you so much for this video, I love how this carry looks when it's finished

  • where did u get yours from? i've been looking for one.

  • Thank you! Very good demonstration!

  • I just forgot to say though that it looks SO HARD!!! LOL!! YOu did a great job!

  • I really liked that you showed your technique in a "real" situation....getting out of the car! Thank you!!!

  • sling wearing is so aesthetically pleasing

  • Great video. Back carries are a problem with me. Will practise this.

  • interesting... I can do every hold but find back carries hard. I will try this w/ my 10 month old later today. :) thx

  • Excellent! It makes my happy to hear parents asking their young children questions to prepare them for what is happening around them. I love how totally fantastic you look when you are done! Thankyou for posting!!!! I will be using this as soon as my baby is old/strong enough.

  • is it ok to bounce that much though? I'm always worried about shaken baby syndrome.

    Good video!

  • Mama, I always want to ask, what didy is this?? IS it red indio or red nino? I watch it all the time to try to figure it out.

  • thanks for doing this... now i can wrap more in public... what wrap brand is yours... how thick is it? it looks like a good weight.

  • Thank you so much for doing this instruction video! It's just what I looking for but didn't know who to ask! Very helpful!!! I'll give it a try again.. LOL !!!

    Happy 4th!!!

    mia

  • Wow! how long did it take for you to learn how to do this wrap?

    Thanks

    mia

  • it didn't take long to figure out how to do it if I didn't wory about trailing the ends on the ground. after i learned how at home, it took me about two weeks of experimenting to work out how to do it while out.

  • Hi. What material is your wrap made from?

  • it's 100 % cotton

  • very helpful, thank you

  • Awesome - very helpful - how long is this piece of cloth ~ very cute little one! thanks

  • the red one is 4.1 m long and the striped one is 3.8 m

  • little chair you know? aff compre uma caderinha q coisa

  • Wow, that takes talent! I always wanted to try a wrap because my ring sling is a pain now that my son is 26 lbs.

    You gave me confidence!!

    Go AP parents, you rock!!

    Beautiful kiddos too:)

  • Oh, and also, my daughter is 23 lbs and the wrap is way more comfy than our padded sling. :)
