i once tried to learn guitar... these things would happen every time and my teacher would just tell me to keep practicing and practicing and i wouldnt get any better. after a while he said that i had lost dedication and that he thought i wasnt practicing and he rejected me as a student... i wish i could of had a teacher like you... im 16 now and i still want to learn but now its even harder because of a fuller schedule :(
ok first off, i think your right about learning to play slow, im new 17 months into playing and i have learned on my own and playing slow is kinda fun sometime cuz it makes you think more. my iggest question is when i will get desent but every one allways has a different answer, but i still kinda suck right now but look to the feature to getting better as an inspiration to keep my self playing. what ever that was that you were playing at the end is really good, did u make it up or what song is it

Would enjoy watching a tutorial on keeping a strum pattern.. To just flow with strumming.. Not hammering away on Down Up Up Down Up.. Trying to remember that pattern without actually thinking.. Seems the more I think about strumming it leaves less concentration on remembering the chord changes and remembering lyrics. I am wondering if there is an easier way to just "feel" the rhythm pattern rather than remembering U and D
This is one of the most accurate videos I have seen. It takes a long time to undo the knots you have built by playing tensed up and you need a teacher like Jamie to guide you along the way. Great video Jamie!
Great vid Jamie. I tell you I've played with tension for so long that if I even think about a guitar my shoulders get tense! I'm hopeful I can work this out...but I know it will take a long, LONG time.
Jamie, this is the best video you have done. It really gets the point across. It's so true that it's funny to watch, especially the explanation for why people "go crazy" when they start practicing slowly. To all the guitarists watching this video : I have found the exact same things to be true in my own guitar teaching. Use Jamie's work to improve your playing, you won't regret it. - Guillaume

Interesting.

I estimate 95% of all guitar players suck. Thanks for telling it like it is. No one likes to hear it. I'm trying to get out of that camp.
