This is like de javu all over again. In 1976, Ronald Reagan (a conservative like Romney) lost the nomination to Gerald Ford (a moderate like McCain), who then went on to lose to Jimmy Carter (a radical liberal like Obama or Clinton). Then, in 1980, Ronald Reagan won the nomination and presidency.
This is not "deja vu all over again." The Republicans were not so monumentally stupid in 1976. The 76 primaries were between just two candidates, Ford and Reagan. This year, the conservatives split their votes among multiple candidates and let McCain sneak in with the Republican winner-take-all system. Without your ridiculous system, Romney would still be in this and probably end up with the nomination.
I also didn't have a real definitive opinion on Romney until it was too late, i think alot of the country was teh same way. Our government is based on the fundamentals of electricity. Two contrasts coming together to form an electrical current. Democrats represent one side of the contrast. Republicans represent the other. Both contrasts can work together for the benefit of the entire nation. But one side is acting like the close minded spouse that causes a divorce. Mitt was a republican governor in a blue state and was able to get the two contrasts to work together. Mitt can return this country to our creator.

They'd be better on bottom line spending anyway regardless of the TALK we hear every four years. I've seen this movie too many times. This is like de javu all over again. In 1976, Ronald Reagan (a conservative like Romney) lost the nomination to Gerald Ford (a moderate like McCain), who then went on to lose to Jimmy Carter (a radical liberal like Obama or Clinton). Then, in 1980, Ronald Reagan won the nomination and presidency.

This is not "deja vu all over again." The Republicans were not so monumentally stupid in 1976. The 76 primaries were between just two candidates, Ford and Reagan. This year, the conservatives split their votes among multiple candidates and let McCain sneak in with the Republican winner-take-all system. Without your ridiculous system, Romney would still be in this and probably end up with the nomination.

I also didn't have a real definitive opinion on Romney until it was too late, i think alot of the country was teh same way. A small amount of digging and his credentials are pretty damn impressive, I'm dissapointed but After the speech today and winning 11 states 4 million + votes there is no way Mitt doesn't run in 2012...and he will win easily. He has too much of a following now and regret from people just learning the truth about him. He'll be back

Was this portraying the recent Mitt who wants to live in "Reags'" house, or the old Mitt who wasn't following RR? The Mitt who "saw" his dad march with ML King, but really meant "saw" in a fantasy sense? The lifetime hunter and NRA member who joined last year and has only hunted once or twice? Interesting. Do a little more research beyond what the main stream media feeds you and you'll learn a lot. I was slow to put my support behind Mitt Romney, concerned about flip-flopping and sincerity. So glad I looked into it more. I hope more people get to know him for who he is and that the opportunity is there (and that he'd be willing) to run again in 2012. You don't know how much our country needs a man like him.

This is a sad day, but Mitt has done an admirable thing. If McCain is going to have any chance at all (which he doesn't), the party needs to get behind him now. Even if Mitt were to pull off a miracle upset, at this point the republicans are so divided the demacrats would win. McCain has won. It's time to get behind Hillbilly, Obama or Mack. It's going to be very hard to vote this year. Mickey Mouse could actually win with write in votes.
