A haunting reminder of those who pay in blood taxes, a touching poem...Who wins in war ? No one! We can only send a murmered prayer for every soul that has died in the name of war and for their loved ones ...
As a veteran of both the gulf war and Bosnia all I can say is I guess I cheated the tax man and did not come back home in a body bag. Yet a part of me still died. It all seemed so senseless and arbitrary.
At another level, we are ALL empowered with opportunities to change the circumstances of life around us. We unite by our conversations and actions toward others. We sow seeds of hate or peace. I congratulate you on your peaceful and loving spirit. May all your words and endeavors propel your heartfelt notions. I share them. And I thank you for acknowledging me. I extend my love for you and those that are amongst those whom share your heart.
As the blood of many stains the hands of the few, it is we who suffer the injustices of the greedy and proud. I salute your statement. I am one of less than 4% of Native Americans left in the USA...this video rings loud! Thank you!
Thanks very much. When I wrote this years ago, I did not consider it anti-war statement. I merely wanted to take a look at the human costs of war, especially the costs born by the average soldier in the trenches. I am very grateful to all who have made sacrifices to preserve freedom and just causes. I am equally sickened, however, by the waste of life of these young men throughout history, in all countries and cultures, when the conflict was initiated only by the greed and vanity of rulers.
