  • not bad really

  • MK - consummate as ever.

  • All I know is, on top of his prog rock stuff (which is pretty good from what I've heard) this guy tours with Dethklok, a melodic deathmetal band, and puts kids a third his age in their place. He does rythym, some lead solos, and even the stacatto, growling vocals. I'm convinced he's more a musican, mastering the nuances and technicalities of the system in whole, rather than simply a guitarist or a vocalist playing into a specific genre, which is something that contemporary music is missing.

  • Personally, I think this is an impressive performance. There's so many dynamic fluctuations and sections to keep straight, not to mention delivering the lyrics. He would get points in my book just for getting through it, but he doesn't just do that-- he delivers with energy, flair, and balls as well.

  • I tried to respond to all you Paranoid Android experts but I couldn't in so few words without being rude

  • You can't honestly think that's good...

  • What part of spontaneously generating all the major aspects of the recorded version in a live solo performance don't you get? I understand this a classic song and many people probably can't make the leap from their mental recording of the album version. Keneally isn't a virtuoso vocalist (nor is Yorke, for that matter). But that isn't even remotely the point here.

  • good try....:)

  • this concert was awesome!!! so glad i went but this song sounded so much better live than on video

  • burk...

  • Sorry I don't understand what you are trying to say?

  • Burk is expressing a negative feeling.

Although this might be an improv, I dislike the tons of bass mistakes he does, and I think his voice is not great at all. I don't feel any joy in listening to this video and I think that he should stick to what he does better. There is no haert in this version, and no feeling passed to the audience.

It's just my opinion, but being a huge Radiohead fan, I don't think this was a good job. Long live rock and roll.

  • I even tried to listen again after reading all your good comments, and I'm sorry, the second hearing was even worse. He's abviously an OK guitar player, but his voice has no reach. He's trying to reach the high notes, it's done with pain, and it hurts my ears. I really can't see how you liked this version. The guitar is even out of tune at some point (the bass string). Anyways, enlight me please. All comment welcome, let's just stay civilized please as I'm tired of little pricks cursing.

  • OK. I have to admit it. I hate Thom Yorke's voice.

Keneally, God bless him, has rehabilitated a song I never really liked. I'll never look at it the same way again.

  • Zappa and Radiohead, this guy is the spirit of rock

  • super....very gut :-)

  • Now linked from Mikes web site. I only wish my camera work was OK.

Forgot to say "This is not an official MK/BFD product"

  • Is that why they call you Wavey, Davey? PS. I was there too... this was the best song of the night! (It was the only one I knew).

  • Mike is my hero, and this is my favorite Radiohead song, so that was just pure fun to see!!!!

  • brilliant one man, one guitar, one great song !

  • When you think, he just did that as a request with no rehearsal ! Genius !

    Laura

  • no doubt, most musicians would steer away from paranoid android, and yes I strongly doubt he ever practice that song. Saw this guy doing a mostly acoustic set with brian beller last night and it was amazing.
