go to the back in the forest if you look closely in between the heads of tin man and dorthy at 0:05, there is a munchkin hanging himself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the DVD version. The VHS version has a body swinging . Not neccesarely a munchkin body, could have been a prop. But it was definitely not a bird on the VHS version. They edited it out on the DVD for a reason right?
I think it's hilarious how people have convinced themselves that one of the munchkin actors hanged himself in the background of this scene. As if they would just waltz past and keep filming if that happened.
*sigh* there is no munchkin hanging! The version you saw with a hanging figure is fake and bad edited. Watch "Proof that the hanging munchkin video is fake!" if you don't believe me.
LISTEN TO ALL U TWATS IF U LOOK CLOSLEY AND THIS IS A HD PICTURE THE THING THAT PEOPLE SAY IS A SUISIDAL MUNCHKIN HANGING THEMSELF IT IS A BIRD HOLDING OUT ITS WINGS!
@msunami Perhaps it was put into the movie because the body wasn't dead yet.
But seriously, it's definately a bird. We also see an actual bird near the cottage/house prior to this scene, when the Tin Man loses balance and runs towards it, so that's evident that some birds were roaming around.
@saolili I believe in the newer version they took it out. You can tell its a body by other youtube videos. My teacher told me there were about 12 deaths on that set mainly because they treated the munchkins so bad since they were midgets.
About 12 deaths on The Wizard of Oz set? I don't know where your teacher got that information from. If the munchkins were treated badly then would have said something.
@Vixehn I've seen that before, and it's fake. You shouldn't believe any of that.
The three companions looked and walked in the direction of the crane bird. If there was a person hanging themselves, they would have stopped in shock, or at least run towards the person to try and help.
@pokemonchampion493 Yes but I can assure you it is not a man hanging himself. It is indeed a crane, which are very large birds. So no worries- the idea of a munchkin hanging himself on a movie set because of love problems is preposterous lol
@MCRomg Yes but if you watch the other ones it deos not look the same at all. It just fucking scares me.
And i know that they would have noticed but the way dorthy loks back twice gets me.
It was defently something worth looking at. And birds are scared easilly and that bird did not even flinch even with the noise they were making. And in the others, ITS FLOATING!

No muchkin hanged himself everybody okay? It is clearly a bird. Its hard to tell on the VHS because of the crappy quality of a VHS.

This movie was ruined when I learned everything in it is political metaphor. I can't just watch it as a fun kids story any more.

@MrArtist888 This is the edited version (DVD).
You need to look at the VHS versions to find something actually hanging.

@MrArtist888 in the original film is a munchkin... in this version is a bird generated by computer

in the back ground its actually a dead body it was an old saying

To anybody that has a brain, the thing is the background is clearly a bird stretching it's wings.
This scene would NOT have been put into the movie if there was an actual dead body on set!

@GoldenFlither15 yep, true dedication and craftmanship, all gone in s--t.
Why couldn't they do that anymore those hypeists or hollywoodists, it makes Ed Wood's films even better.
