He says in the video that he and Elvis used to go to nightclubs together where Elvis would sometimes tell him a singer they were watching was trying too hard. Do you know what year or years he went to nightclubs with Elvis and was it just the two of them or did other people go along?

@EdRealty It wasn't a regular occurence but once or twice Elvis ,The Memphis Mafia & P.J. were in that particular night club together.It was The Red Velvet Club on Sunset Boulevard,Hollywood. Elvis used to have his own private booth there.Of course anyone onstage would go all out to impress Elvis & they would try a bit too hard & Elvis could see that.I think the year would be about 1965. P.J. would be there because after doing the "Shindig" TV show it was the place where all the artistes met up.

@rontenn OK you mean he and Elvis didn't really "go to nightclubs together" as he says in the video. In other words Proby was there and they met up in Elvis' booth to watch singers onstage. There ought to be some Memphis Mafia members who remember something about this shouldn't there? Jerry Schilling wrote about going to the Red Velvet with Elvis and seeing Proby sing there but he didn't say anything about Proby joining the group or that Elvis even knew him.

Elvis did not remember who Proby was in 1965 as 11 years earlier Proby was Jimmy Smith,a nobody & looked nothing like he did in '65.In 1960 P.J.(Jett) played Am. Football for Rick Nelson's team sometimes against El's mob but he still couldn't place the face!

I asked a simple question and he gives me a lot of baloney about Proby's aliases and Elvis' lifestyle as though nobody knows anything about Elvis and who his friends were. @rontenn I didn't forget about him. Jerry Schilling didn't say a thing about PJ Proby going nightclubbing with Elvis. His book said Elvis saw Proby perform on stage at a club. Being seen on a club stage is a far cry from "nightclubbing with". If that's the best you have to back up Proby's claim you've got nothing. Elvis went nightclubbing with me too if you count the times I saw him on stage.
