Intentionally fouling the props on any ship causing them to go dead in the water in a hostile environment (unable to navigate around icebergs).
If you watch the Paul Watson (and crew) interview on Animal Planet, Paul Watson clearly states that when they end whaling, they'll go for Cod and Tuna fishermen in an attempt to "save the world's oceans". It won't end at whaling. Next comes Cod, Tuna, Haddock, Flounder, Shrimp, Crab, Lobster, etc. These people are environmental terrorists, who paint themselves as hero's. What food are you willing to give up for environmental reasons? Next comes cows, chicken, turkey, etc. Everybody has a cause.

Several whale species, not all, have severely reduced numbers because of whaling in the last century and before that. It was so extensive that numbers still havn't recovered on some species like Sperm and Blue, like I said. That is just a part of the reason not to whale- the main one is to stop killing great creatures for no reason, they don't need to be killed.

A study was recently done in japan about the whale meat that is available to the public to buy for consumption, 90% of that meat ends up rotting in warehouses because 9 out of 10 japanese people would rather eat something else. And just to help spread the word, Iceland is becoming as bad, if not worse, than the japanese whaling fleet.

If you watch the Paul Watson (and crew) interview on Animal Planet, Paul Watson clearly states that when they end whaling, they'll go for Cod and Tuna fishermen in an attempt to "save the world's oceans". It won't end at whaling. Next comes Cod, Tuna, Haddock, Flounder, Shrimp, Crab, Lobster, etc. These people are environmental terrorists, who paint themselves as hero's. What food are you willing to give up for environmental reasons? Next comes cows, chicken, turkey, etc. Everybody has a cause.

Since the international whaling ban, 25 years ago, unless whales stopped breeding, I find it very difficult to believe that whale populations are down. Unless there's some disease that they've contracted, or some reason why they've stopped breeding, whale populations should be increasing instead of decreasing. Is that easy enough, do you need pictures or is the logic just too simple to grasp?

Several whale species, not all, have severely reduced numbers because of whaling in the last century and before that. It was so extensive that numbers still havn't recovered on some species like Sperm and Blue, like I said. That is just a part of the reason not to whale- the main one is to stop killing great creatures for no reason, they don't need to be killed.

A study was recently done in japan about the whale meat that is available to the public to buy for consumption, 90% of that meat ends up rotting in warehouses because 9 out of 10 japanese people would rather eat something else. And just to help spread the word, Iceland is becoming as bad, if not worse, than the japanese whaling fleet.

If they're preventing the Japanese from catching whales and are getting international attention on the subject, that's positive IMO. And if direct action is needed to achieve that, so be it. Maybe you don't agree with their tactics, but at least they're doing SOMETHING.

I dont like killing whales, but these fools on the sea shepard are putting human lives at risk. They blantantly rammed the Japanese ship, and should all be put in prison for a long time. This is not the answer to the problem, and erodes the credibility of the antiwhaling movement. These are dirty hippies looking for a cheap thrill, and should be taught a very painfull lesson.

@wbh333 not true. And partaking, buying or owning of whale or dolphin meat is illegal and can be sent with prison time and a huge fine. Just recently a man took a piece of whale meat of a beached whale in the US and was almost arrested but givin a fine because he didnt know.

Yes it is true. The U.S government always requests the endangered bowhead whale hunting permission in IWC. Bowhead whale is much more endangered than any whales the Japanese hunt. That is also true, according to IWC.

@wbh333 a lot of questions,and i'll give u only one answer,which is written in a book by Brenda Peterson.I agree,the book is about dolphins,but this line could count for whales as well,so i'll add whales to it : Dolphins & whales are not domesticated and bred for our consumption; they are wild animals and an indicator species of our marine habitat's health. Our seas are not farms, a utilitarian resource for us to plunder. The oceans are our world's womb and necessary for our own survival.

Most the countries voting with Japan never hunted a whale in their history since the beginning of civilization. But they did get a nice economic package to vote on Japans side to allow "research" whaling.
